03.16.24We hosted our wedding reception at the National with about 60 guests and the hospitality blew me away. All of the employees were professional, kind, and enthusiastic. Our bartender was fantastic and everything that came out of the kitchen was scrumptious! I wish I could do it allOver again, we had the perfect, easy going, stress free day and I can thank the National Crew for being part in that!

History has ensured that the National Exchange Hotel remains a gem that should definitely be on your radar. Recently, my brother and his now-wife chose this exquisite modern Victorian hotel for their wedding reception, and let me tell you, it was an experience worth sharing.Nestled in the heart of a historic gold mining town, this hotel seamlessly blends modern boutique with Victorian historic charm. As you step into its classic lobby adorned with rustic velour, brass details, and beautiful wallpaper, you're transported back to a bygone era.The hotel exudes romance and warmth, thanks to its exceptional team of professionals who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Surrounded by upscale yet charming rooms outfitted with antique Victorian pieces, you'll feel like a member of high society during the Victorian era.During our stay, we had a large group for breakfast, and the hotel graciously opened a special room for us all to dine together. Two families merging into one sat among each other, enjoying formidable gourmet breakfast that's nothing short of extraordinary. From brioche French toast to their special twist on the Croque Madam open-face sandwich, accompanied by their delectable house-made ketchup and fine-cut fries, every bite is a culinary delight. Our breakfast experience alone was truly five-star.The ambiance for the wedding reception was equally enchanting, with romantic lighting and a bar manned by a talented bartender.Despite the laughter, chatter, and joyful chaos among the guests, the service at the National Exchange Hotel remained impeccable. The staff worked tirelessly in the background, ensuring that every dish was served and cleared promptly, allowing us to fully enjoy the celebration without any worries. The food, catered by the hotel, was nothing short of exceptional. With a plethora of varied options, from moist fried chicken sandwiches to beautifully presented cheese and charcuterie boards, every detail was meticulously executed. The level of professionalism exhibited by the staff was reminiscent of the Victorian ages—perfect in every way. Their dedication to providing an outstanding dining experience truly elevated our celebration to new heights. In addition to the outstanding service and delectable food, the hotel boasts an original and beautifully restored full-service bar, adding another layer of charm to this already enchanting establishment. As someone with a background in hospitality, I can attest that coordinating such a large event isn't easy, but the team at the National Exchange Hotel handled it with grace and precision. In summary, if you're seeking a truly unforgettable experience in a historic setting, look no further than the National Exchange Hotel. Trust me, you won't regret it.Special thanks to Alan and Kate for going above and beyond to ensure that my family's special day became an extraordinary one. Your dedication and professionalism truly made a difference and contributed to the unforgettable experience we had at the National Exchange Hotel.I also want to extend my gratitude to every manager on the floor and every enthusiastic service member in the hotel, bars, restaurant, and event. Your unrelenting attention to detail and commitment to excellence did not go unnoticed. Thank you for being so awesome at your job and for making our stay truly remarkable.

I wanted a beautiful hotel located in downtown Nevada City to celebrate my husband's birthday, and that's exactly what we got. The front desk was inviting, friendly, and helpful. Our king suite was lovely, spacious with a comfy bed. The bar had entertainment both nights while we were there, which was a nice bonus. Our meals at Lola's, the hotel restaurant were fantastic! I highly recommend The National Exchange Hotel if you're looking for a lovely experience.

It is a hotel that retains the historical background and is operated as a boutique hotel concept with interior decoration, and the atmosphere of the restaurant and bar is very great. Most boutique hotels have the feature of making good use of wallpaper and paint colors, so this place also harmonizes well with wallpaper and paint colors to create a cozy atmosphere. As expected, the old building was used as it is and only the interior was changed, so there is a sound proof problem and it was bit cold in bathroom .It's also fun to stay at a hotel and see Nevada city on the streets in the evening, and traditional Irish music is played every Thursday. I recommend this hotel.

My wife, kids and myself are huge fans of Ghost Adventures. We went into the hotel in hopes of experiencing something that was experienced on the show. Kendra, who operates the front counter, was absolutely amazing!! We approached her knowing that we were probably not the only people who have asked about it, knowing it could possibly get annoying having so many people asking about it but she was all about helping us! She took us on a full tour, showed us rooms that had paranormal activities, told us the history of the hotel, the town, etc. She definitely deserves 5 stars! I highly recommend taking a trip to this hotel, whether to stay a night or indulge in your paranormal side. Make sure to talk to kendra!

I use to clean the beer lines at this hotel in 2019. I always wanted to stay in it....SHE IS HAUNTED! LOVE THAT! The inside of this place is to die for. The front desk area is magnificent! The old pictures on the walls, deeds and trusts, pharmacy medicine lists, pics of ladies and men omg I can go on for days.Continental breakfast was delicious! They had omelets with cheese already made along with bacon and huge sausages. They had bagels, yogurt, box juice, OJ, milk, cereals, oatmeal choices, fresh apples, water, coffee and teas! LOVED IT! Also, very clean all around! We stayed in a cute room with a huge bathtub! SO NICE!The hotel is beautiful! It sits in the perfect spot overlooking Main Street in Historic Jackson, CA. The building overlooks what once was a bustling street full of old school cars and people. Everything about this area is wonderful.Get sucked back in time with a stroll down Main Street. Check out where the hang mans tree once stood and pop into Rosebuds for a plate of deliciousness! Stop at the bar and have an Ale or check out all the antique shops have to offer. There is sooo much to do out here. From gold panning to cavern tours. This area has got it all.

Really nice location, extremely friendly staff and located in the heart of Nevada city. Service was excellent, room was very clean and comfortable. Lola was an amazing dining experience and the bar is something special. Great food, cocktails, and service all around. Thank you very much to the front desk staff and everyone that makes it such a charming place (Heidi, Debby, and Emily to name a few). It was my first vacation after experiencing a very long last few months recovering from the Lahaina wildfire. Very enjoyable and I encourage anyone reading this to experience this place. Thank you!

The owner upgraded my wife and I to the Kings suite! Huge room, huge beautiful king bed. This suite is 4 times larger than most hotel rooms with a great view of the town and street. All the shops are lit up at night. The 16 million dollars in hotel renovations are incredible! Love the colors they chose as well as the wallpaper designs in the hallways and staircases. Awesome lounge areas. The 50-foot wrap around lounge couch is one of a kind. This place is truly an overall masterpiece, with a very ritzy 1850s vibe. Not to forget the very classy restaurant and bar downstairs. I'll be posting a video on all my social pages.Rooms: Our king suite is the best we've ever experienced. From the moment we walked in my wife can't stop talking about how much she loves the character. Definitely worth getting the Kings suite. Reminds us of our old home, a 3 story 1800s Victorian.Walkability: Down town Nevada city. Your surrounded by everything you need. Shopping, restaurants, treats and bars.
