We love going to River Toys with our friends to pick up their boat for summer trips, never have to wait for the boat. They have stored their boat with River toys for several years and have always been satisfied.

MUST READ and scroll through all pictures. Be cautious of storing your boat here. Tons of water and sand got into my boat. Their storage buildings are not sealed and have leaking roofs. Trust this review because I was a 9-year customer of River Toys, until recently. Read on. I am a 40+ year boat owner/operator. I've been caring for my boats aesthetically and mechanically. For those who are meticulous like me, owners, you'll know! After every trip I clean my boat from top to bottom, bow to stern. Everything down to each doc rope, life jacket, chair, umbrella, etc. comes out the morning we depart. For five hours I polish, vacuum, and dry everything in my boat. This always takes place in the 100+ dry heat/sun in Lake Havasu. I make sure everything is 110% dry. This of course means every compartment, and the ski locker being the most important since water makes it way down in into the bilge. Everything is folded up nice and dry and neatly put back for my next trip. The drain plug was removed at the launch ramp the day before, and I cannot pass from Arizona to Needles CA side with the plug in, there is a check point to make sure of that too. Why do I do this? Easy...because you absolutely cannot have a drop of water trapped anywhere when you put your boat in storage. It doesn't matter if it is hot out, the water gets trapped and moldy mildew happens fast. I learned this 40 years ago and never ever had a problem, until River Toys left my boat outside (or more likely stored my boat in a compromised facility through monsoon season). A month ago, I went to pick up my boat to find sand on the cover, and a very large water stain. I've never used the cover other than for dust while in storage, so it's never been outside. It comes off when I get to River Toys, goes on when I drop it off. I took the cover off to find sand all over the inside of my boat too. The manager (Cindy) proceeded to tell me there were high winds this last season. Hmmm, I thought I pay a premium $208/month to store my boat 23' boat inside, not outside. Then when I got home, I opened the ski compartment to find residual water and mold everywhere. My Connelly tube ruined, all my chairs, umbrella, etc. all disgusting and moldy. See the pictures. I contacted River Toys only to be told my boat didn't move after the day I brought it back (Summer 2021). Whether true or not, how did the water get in there? Both Cindy and the owner never took any responsibility, claiming no other boat had water issues. Well, it's been almost a year so of course the likelihood of another boat having an issue is low. Many came to get their boat and brought it back between last summer and now. They also claimed it was sand on my equipment. Funny, I'm at home staring at mold and they are telling me it is sand. They also claimed I left water in the boat. I wanted to share this with all those meticulous boat owners who clean their boat every time after it is used...how would you feel if someone told you that you must have made a mistake and let gallons of water in your boat stay in the ski compartment, when you know that is impossible. You don't overlook 4 hours of work. You know you folded all the towels and deflated the tube (dry of course) and neatly put everything back in the ski compartment because you just don't forget that. We are not talking about a wet towel left in the boat...this was gallons of water leaking in over the winter season and trapped. So, there I was, being told by the owner that it must have been my fault, not his. The sand in the boat didn't even phase him. This wasn't coming from a brank new customer; this was coming from a 9-year customer who has paid him over $13,000 in boat storage fees. The owner refused to pay me for back rent and damage to my equipment. I don't like to give negative reviews, but when someone tells me it is my fault for gallons of water and tons of sand in the boat, I detailed last summer and went straight to storage, I must warn fellow boat owners.

STAY AWAY:Only had my RV & boat here for less than 10 days. They don’t have secure roll up doors, causing dust & dirt to pile up, everywhere.Take a look around the facility, junk everywhere & that’s how your valued possessions will be cared for. Run fast !!

You can't beat the enthusiasm or friendless you get from Ricardo when picking up or dropping off your boat. This guy is out there every day in the blazing heat and greats you with a smile, helps you run through your pre-storage or pre-tow checklist making sure you haven't forgotten anything, and even helps cover/uncover the boat. He certainly makes this place what it is, we always look forward to the experience.

We have stored our boat and skis here for 20 years. This place is fantastic. We have never had an issue, it is beyond convenient - just call and it will be ready when you arrive. We also have had many times when work was required on our boat, they have always helped us with making sure work was done since we live in So CA. We loved Steve and were reluctant to see who would take his place when he passed. We have been beyond impressed by Ricardo! He is organized, friendly and available when we need him. He also is so knowledgeable about river conditions, etc. I would HIGHLY recommend River Toys to anyone!
