Finding a good mechanic is like finding a good dentist. You want someone who explains everything, gives you options, and does quality work at a fair price - someone who really cares.
This is what I've experienced taking my Camry and my wife's Highlander to Pete at Third Street Auto. His integrity is unmatched, and my only regret is that I didn't take our cars here sooner. Thanks Pete! I know you've been doing this for 40 years, but please don't retire. We need you!!

I've been looking for a go-to mechanic in the area for a long time and the team Third Street Auto is by far the best I've ever found. They went above and beyond to make sure my problem was taken care of and more.I had an issue with the turbocharger on my Nissan Juke NISMO and they not only suggested probable causes for the issue (something other shops didn't even look into, just planned to replace the part and do nothing else) but also gave me an extremely competitive quote. After the work was done in less than two days, Pete also helped me find the source of an interior noise problem (something I've been dealing with for almost two years and multiple shops couldn't help me with) and fixed it completely free of charge.This is a place with professionals who care. If anyone's looking for a trustworthy shop, you will be in good hands here.

Couldn't ask for a better mechanic. Pete is solid gold and a genuinely honest mechanic. I started going to them when they were still on third street and am so happy Pete hasn't retired. Have always been treated fairly and respectfully. Won't take my car anywhere else and know I'm always getting the real deal - no gimmicks or shady business here. Best mechanic I've ever had hands down.

It was my first time there. My regular mechanic who I was going to for years just retired. He was very honest and very capable. So far so good here at 3rd Street. They seem to be of the same cloth. I'm hoping they can become my go-to guys. They were really great about getting us in, they service my son's car too. They were very upfront about the cost and I think that they were reasonable for what they charged.

they always do a great job at 3rd Street. My 1994 Honda Accord Coupe has been in for repairs on various occasions and the job is always done right and in a timely manner. The Honda has over 242K miles so various issues are bound to arise. In the most recent event, the ignition switch was cutting out and Pete quickly diagnosed the issue. Having taken my vehicle to various other mechanics in Napa over the years 3rd Street has become my best and final go to place for automotive repairs. A big thumbs up for the guys at 3rd Street Auto Repair.

Went in after nagging to get water pump replacement because "they always fail after 100k miles", according to this places owner. Despite no signs of failure person nagging me was convinced owner knew best.A month later my car has trouble starting. Now this could have been because of the battery based on how it was having trouble. But the battery could not be charging because of a bad alternator. Take it in, they say it's the battery and replace it.Less than a month later the alternator dies. I have to pay to get it towed. I take it here to ball out the owner a bit for missing this so badly, see if they'll apologize at least, and just missing causing me a disaster of a camping trip to Yosemite just days earlier. He charges me $500 and won't even see me personally. Not even a hint of an apology.I don't know why this place has good reviews. Because I don't believe a word of it
