This review is based on customer service, not quality of services provided. Unfortunately our tax lady had a serious health problem and it has left us looking for a new professional during the worst time. We thought bringing our business to Napa, where we reside would also be better since we were traveling quite a ways to see our previous person. We were referred by current clients of Karens. My husband walked into the office hoping to make an appointment and was immediately told "no" (despite us only wanting to file an extension at this time). While i understand that this is a very busy and stressful time of the year, the professionalism is seriously lacking. I would never refer her based on that first impression.

Karen is the BEST! I was embarrassed to go because I had one tax year that I put on a shelf for seven yrs. I thought I was going to have to pay thousands of dollars in taxes but after Karen worked her magic and got it all straightened out. I was more than ecstatic with the outcome. So don't be afraid to drive a little bit of a distance you will be happy you did. And yes I have already made my appointment with Ranch Tax Service for 2023 taxes.

I highly recommend Ranch Tax Service. I have been going to Karen for about 4/5 years. Karen is kind and takes the time to explain the details of your taxes and what you can do to lighten your tax burden in the next year. I'm never going to anyone else. I totally trust Karen and her skills as a tax preparer.

I am very very very disappointed with the way this place runs their business. They charged $200 to prepare a simple tax return which is fine, but I had to correct Karen Gallegos the first time around because she didn't even ask me simple due diligence questions and just assumed things and filled out my tax return. My fiance even paid extra (I believe $600) to expedite his own tax return. Then 3 months pass by and I still don't have my tax return. I checked the IRS and CA state website and turns out that both of my tax refunds were already disbursed. When I went and checked the tax form again they incorrectly had a different bank info that was not associated with me at all. They did my taxes back in 2020 so they had my previous routing info and Esme even confirmed that with me when I first sent in my docs.Very disappointing.

My husband and I have done our own taxes for years after horrible experiences with another tax company (let's call them the 'great clips' of tax businesses).. my inlaws recommend we come see Karen last year and we will never go anywhere else. Last year and this year we left relieved and confident in our taxes rather than confused and stressed.1 100% recommend her for personal and business.
