I have consistently worked out my whole adult life. I have embraced ageing with gusto, until about a year ago when I developed arthritis in my knees. I was in significant pain and was angry that I could not run, hike, or even get into a child’s pose in yoga, not to mention walking up and down stairs. I continued to work out but was bogged down by the pain. I found a good orthopedic doctor and was placed on meds and eventually got cortisone shots (with an ungodly long needle) in my knees which gave me some relief. But I was still in pain and unable to maintain my normal fitness level. Then I found and started personal training with Sean McCawley and Tenacious Fitness. One of the best decisions I have made in a long time. I have been training with Sean for about six months and I am pain free without meds! Tenacious fitness methodology includes a focus on functional movement in addition to strength training. My workouts are tough, fun, and creative and all focused on strengthening my hips, glutes, hamstrings, calves, and core to increase flexibility and lessen the stress on my knees. I am more flexible than I have ever been, and I have surpassed my past fitness level. All the trainers at Tenacious Fitness are highly competent, friendly and seem to really love what they do. The facility is also cheerful, airy, and fully equipped with all the best fitness gear. I always feel so much better when I finish a training session and I highly recommend training at Tenacious Fitness!

Sean, Sarah, Alec and the entire team at Napa Tenacious Fitness have been wonderful to work with over the past year. They catered my experience to my fitness goals and ability. During our time together, I had a few injuries I needed work through, and they were able to create a plan that helped me comfortably push myself while ensuring I did not experience further injury. The entire team is extremely conscientious in doing what is appropriate for each client. I always look forward to going to a training session. Our time together is challenging, but fun, making it easy to get going and continue my progress. I feel stronger and sturdier in my everyday life, and have learned invaluable tools that I will carry with me to ensure a healthier lifestyle into my future. Incredibly grateful to the Napa Tenacious Fitness team for supporting my fitness journey!

After a year-and-a-half break from working out, I needed accountability to motivate me to workout again. Tenacious Fitness was exactly what I needed to get back to what I’ve enjoyed for years. I wanted my strength back.At the start, Coach Alec put together a workout that was just what I needed to get on the onramp to the level of fitness I enjoy now. The workout was tailored to the areas where my body needed some “repair” and strengthening. Alec continued to create more challenging workouts as I got stronger.I refer to Tenacious Fitness as the Bespoke personal training gym of Napa.Knowledgeable, helpful trainers and a friendly, comfortable environment that encourages and empowers.After several months with Coach Alec who is patient, knowledgeable and encouraging, I feel I’m back to my strong self. Pain places are gone, and I feel younger than when I started.

Napa Tenacious Fitness has been integral to me starting and keeping with my fitness journey. The trainers are all very knowledgeable, helpful, and motivating.Every session is 1:1 with my trainer, and the best part is that my exercise plans are customized by my trainer to match my goals, needs, and ability. It's cheesy to say, but I really feel like they put the "personal" in personal training.

I can’t say enough about how awesome and encouraging Sean and the team at Napa Tenacious Fitness is. I’ve been training there for 16 months to get ready for my wedding and feel overall stronger. The trainers have been encouraging and offer a great plan of attack for my fitness goals. I highly recommend Sean and his team for your fitness goals.

I cannot say enough about how highly I regard Sean and the team at Napa Tenacious Fitness. I’ve been training there for 18 months to reset my fitness post-pandemic with the goal of finding a routine that I will maintain consistently going forward. The team has been amazingly supportive of my goal. I love that my exercise routine is constantly evolving, keeping things interesting to engage my body and mind. I feel stronger and with fewer aches than I’ve had in many years. The team is so personable and sets me at ease; I don’t know how they do it but every trainer there greets you by your first name on arrival and departure, creating a warm and supportive environment. Special shout out to coaches Moni and Noah who I’ve trained with most frequently, though I’ve happily worked with all of the coaches. If you are looking to meet your fitness goals in the new year, I highly recommend Napa Tenacious Fitness.

I am that person who has always wanted to be in better shape, but just couldn't stick to a routine. Earlier this year, I made a decision that it was now or never. I joined one of the big gyms in town and tried some training sessions, but the environment didn't feel right. It was big and loud and not at all personal. So I called around to some of the smaller personal training gyms and decided to try Tenacious. My intro session was with Sarah, and after that session, I knew this was the right gym and the right program for me. I signed up for 3 months. Starting out was hard for me, but the coaches were all supportive and encouraging, and now I'm starting my second 3 month session. I'm seeing and feeling progress and I'm hooked! I've also used the nutrition counseling and massage! I give both of those 5 stars too!Sean has created something special, with both the program and the gym environment. Where else do you walk in to a gym and everybody knows your name!

I can’t compliment Darwin at Napa Tenacious Fitness enough. He takes my fun sports, golf and pickleball, seriously! From throwing tennis balls at me while I’m standing on one foot (to improve my fast reaction and balance for pickleball) to adjusting forearm and upper arm exercises to treat and prevent golfer’s elbow, Darwin has increased my confidence and ability in playing these sports. My handicap has dropped 5 points! My medical tests have also improved - from improving my bone density to improved cholesterol, blood sugar and triglyceride results. As a medical doctor, I also vouch for Darwin’s nutrition and fitness knowledge. He is up to date on these topics and I trust his advice. I am glad that Sean McCawley writes for the Napa Register - that’s how I found this gym and it’s been a great investment in my health!

I turn 40 next June and have been trying to re-prioritize my health as a gift to myself and my family. Napa Tenacious Fitness has been a great resource and solution for me as I struggle to create exercise habits after babies. It is pricier than I would like, but worth the expense for me since I have not been able to commit to anything successfully otherwise. I am still early and slow in my goals, but am seeing marked, steady progress and have done so in a consistent, kind, supportive environment - without pressure, feelings of defeat, comparison, or worry that I'm doing it wrong! I can trust Darwin that he knows what he is doing to turn me into a strong mom who is ready, rather than reluctant for all of my family's adventures! I am looking forward to signing up for my next 6 months!

Napa Tenacious Fitness is THE BEST gym I have ever worked with. I have been training here for 6 months and I have trained with most of the team and I can’t say enough about how wonderful they are! Not only is the training method unique, challenging and fun - my results have been great! I highly recommend training with Napa Tenacious!!

I normally have a baseline level of fitness but do much better with someone telling me how to workout and holding me accountable. Tenacious Fitness does both! I'm training for a mountain climb and knew I needed help to get me to the level of fitness required to not only be safe, but have a good time climbing. I've been working with Tenacious Fitness for a few months now and I've noticed big changes in both my physical level of fitness as well as my appearance. Hiking is getting easier, I'm lifting heavier, and I'm actually working out on my own more effectively since I've been assigned homework to do on my own. I'll be using their nutrition counseling soon too! They have so many ways to help you get to the fitness goals you've places and i highly recommend them if you want to take your fitness to the next level. Its also worth mentioning that they are extremely flexible with scheduling. They frequently check in to see how you're feeling throughout the course of your fitness journey. This was such a good decision on my end and I'll come back for another review after I've accomplished my goal!

I’ve been training with Tenacious for 27 months. I joined during Covid when I got a new job convinced that post covid we’d never be able to continue with my travel schedule. The flexibility and dynamicism of the entire team was unbelievable and we never missed a beat with my variable schedule. I’ve also never been able to do heavy strength work without injuries but their protocol of focusing on fundamentals and mobility has made a huge difference in my training. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been and injury free even with an incredibly challenging work schedule. Moni, Alec, Noah, Darwin and Sean have been instrumental in keeping me healthy and on track with my physical goals. Thanks Napa Tenacious.

I've been working out at NTF 1:1 with Moni for about a year and I absolutely love her coaching style. She's passionate about fitness and nutrition, and always builds great workout programs that are tailored to help me reach my goals. One of my main reasons for joining this gym is because it's 1:1 training. I wanted to make sure I had someone who would not only tell me what to do, but also explain the "why" and keep on top of correcting me to ensure I'm using proper form. Moni has done exactly that and more. She also goes the extra mile to create travel programs for when I'm away and even researched hikes for when I went back to NY visit family for 4 wks so I'd have a good plan beyond the actual "gym" workouts! Sean, the owner, is also very invested in helping his clients reach their goals. After I expressed an interest in learning massage therapy, he went out of his way to generously put together a learning program and gave me several books to read. I've struggled most of my life to stay consistent with "going to the gym" and originally, didn't plan on staying here for longer than a year once I felt confident on my own, but this team of coaches has become like a family and I really love coming here 2x/wk so they're stuck with me!

I had stopped going to the gym for a couple years so I signed up with Darwin to get myself excited to return to the gym. Their system is set up well for me to do that. One day a week with Darwin and the other days on my own. I always find myself in a good mood when leaving there for the rest of the day. Great conversations and awesome workouts.
