I was sold a mattress and standard box spring and told “You’ll get used to how high the bed is.” My feet dangled when I sat on bed. Needless to say - I never got used to height. I asked Matthew’s Mattress for help in making bed lower. I was told the only way was to buy another box spring that was 2” or 4”. I requested the 2” and was told it wouldn’t work with my mattress. I asked for the 4” and was told it was really 5”. The price I was quoted over the phone was $100 more when I went into store to order. My review is Buyer Beware

Avoid at all costs.
I checked out the TEMPUR-ProAdapt® Medium Hybrid - King on Matthews Mattress' website. The pricing was online and they are a local business, so I headed over to their Napa location at 1:30pm on 4/16, as it is the closest mattress store to me.
I went in and was greeted by a middle aged man who appeared as if he had better things to do than help me. After asking where the mattress was located, I was told they do not carry this mattress; "never have and never will." I asked about some other brands and materials that I researched online and was asked "what are you a mattress spy or something? Customers don't come in with as much knowledge as you do about these products."
I looked at some of the other brands, asked for his advice on AirLoome and asked for a business card. Shortly after, he made a comment about grabbing a beer and talking about mattresses and working in the mattress industry.
To upper management/ownership: I was ready to buy a large ticket item from your Napa store and that sale has now gone to one of your local competitors. Customers have the ability to research products online. We're not complete idiots and deserve to be treated better than this.

We were pleased to find a local family owned business to support. The sales person was very knowledgeable and answered many questions for us, even things that didn't pertain to our specific purchase. We will definitely go back when we need to make another mattress purchase. Their product met our needs and is giving us a good nights sleep.

We shopped around and found prices were pretty much the same between the brick and mortar store and on-line sellers so we went with the best service at Matthews. We got what we wanted and it was delivered directly to our bedroom. Plus they took the old mattress, box spring, and frame with them. Amazon doesn’t do that.
