I tried to go to my storage unit inside the building on Sunday. It is locked. Disappointed that it says there is access.. but there is not.

Cube smart California Oaks, Murrieta Ca.Beware of this location and their scripted corporate responses when addressing your issues and concerns.I’ve been a loyal Cube-Smart tenant for over three years and dealt with security issues that all who may consider using this location should know about.Security issues stem from non-working gates, allowing anyone to enter at free will with bad intent, and now lights that don’t work at night, leaving areas on the facility in darkness, an invitation for thieves to steel your possessions, which has occurred.I’ve repeatedly asked for information, status, updates, or a solution with issues of concern to only receive the run around response. At first you comply with office personnel, or the managers response, then realize patterns of telling you what they want you to hear, or simply blowing you off. Always some excuse, or an attempt to present a plan that doesn’t transpire. Remember excuses do not apply to customers without consequences, like paying your bill. There should be some accountability on Cube Smarts end.Understand your storage payment applies to a working facility that must be secure, very important to all of us who work hard for our possessions. I suggest asking about functioning gates and working lights before choosing this location. Or anything of concern.Lastly, the Cube Smart location on California Oaks is affiliated with the location in Murrieta Ca, Monroe Ave. So, beware of the same antics.

I recently had to help my friend move some items into her storage unit at CubeSmart California Oaks location. She asked for my help, feeling vulnerable, due to lights that are not working. Once we arrived, I understood why she reached out. As a woman, this setting is an invitation for a horrible experience.I would never come to this location at night alone. We made an agreement she would not come alone at night. I'm not always in a position to be available, but was glad to help. I was blown away a business operates in this manner. This is UNSAFE !!

They had a broken electronic entrance gate for almost a year. They continue to raise rates.

Do not sign a lease until the day you are ready to move in. For those of you who are prudent, make a reservation for a specific day and pay in advance, their automated system will screw you. The start date isn't populated on the form when you sign, but is appended later after you pay. Onsite managers will tell you "there's nothing they can do about it, you already signed the lease". The lease that appended the date AFTER YOU SIGNED. shady as hell.

Literally the worst. You can't get ahold of anybody. I've left multiple voicemails and never once have they been returned. It'll be 2pm midweek and they don't answer their phones. Charged me for an extra month after the woman swore up and down I had done everything needed to close out the unit and I made her confirm over and over because I knew it would happen. THEY DO NOT RESPOND OR HELP YOU. Go literally anywhere else.

I don't know why I can't review for the Monroe, Murrieta location, but since it's the same manager for both, this will do. I rented a large storage unit to store product for my business. I visited a few times a week to pick up inventory and put new inventory away. The longest I ever spent there was around two hours. Not unreasonable. Then I get a text message from the manager saying that I'm spending to much time there and that I'm breaking the terms of my contract. I had to ask TWICE, how long would be reasonable. I was told 15 minutes. That is absolutely ridiculous. I was paying almost $300 a month to only be able to access my unit for 15 minutes. Needless to say, I didn't stay. Overall, Horrible management. Communication skills could use work. And pricy considering they pull you in with a lower price and raise the rent 2 months in. I couldn't recommend this place less.

Very very very disappointed with CubeSmart the girl behind the desk was very disrespectful and rude talk to me like I was a child I don't see how this person has a job because without customers there is no business and with no business there is no jobs but obviously cube smart doesn't care about that because this person is still working there talking to people disrespectfully and treating people disrespectfully I wouldn't recommend an enemy going there very very disappointed with cute smart I am currently looking for another place to go because being there is just not not right

The storage unit was easy to rent and the price was very fair. You can arrange everything on line without having to go into the office. Checking out was easy too. The only reason I didn't rate it a ten is because when we moved our things in, the ground was wet from water leaking into the unit from the other units on the sides (it had rained the day befor). We had to lay cardboard over the entire floor before moving our things in so the boxes wouldn't get wet.

The Cubesmart in San Bernardino on baseline Let me and at least 8 others be ripped off I lost all my guitar and jewelry They didn't even tell us We think the former asst manager did it They have cameras but have done nothing The police don't care either Never use these people Cubesmart did not even have anyone in store If I am lucky I might get $1,000 in a few yrs Unless you have old junk Do Not ever use this place And on top They charge me another $233.00 Took a week of calling 10 times a day to talk to someone billing me for the old storage unit again $465.00 And I was so mad I said I could kill that asst manager who stole All my vintage guitars and jewelry Some guy calls me and was going to have me arrested for terrorist threats And I will get a response back saying how sorry they are And to send them my info Why don't they go after the employee Asst Manager who stole from me and at least 8 others No apology but they couldn't send a notice that they had nobody watching the place all they did was send me a notice that was a week late saying they were going to replace my door I literally am in shock from all of this because I've lost so much money at least $35,000 worth of jewelry and vintage electric guitars and I'm supposed to do all the legwork

A quick follow-up. We moved out on 12/20, and all went well. Thanks to our wonderful friends who jumped in to help us. We rented a U-Haul and U-Haul storage unit and got all our stuff moved in about 2 hours. The U-Haul bill was a whopping $39, and our new rate for a unit of almost identical size is $98 per month. This is an annual savings of $1,368, including the moving costs, and U-Haul gave us a free lock (now we have an extra lock). Before you rent here, look around like I should have, it will save you a headache later. I would NOT recommend this CubeSmart location. PS. The attendant at CubeSmart the night we moved out was very nice. That's the ONLY positive for this CubeSMart location!
