Dirty bedding, missing smoke detector, out door lock broken with exposed wires, soap/shampoo/conditioner smaller than my thumb, room smells like urine, don't go near the pool.... I booked two rooms over a month in advance, two days later I called to change one of the rooms from a king to 2 queens. On check in date the "owner" claims to have no record of the change request. I provided the ticket number and he still says he can't do anything. (Walking through the parking lot at 8pm, there are clearly 2 double queen rooms unoccupied on the lower level and a bright vacancy sign in the window). The owner refused to provide a refund of my prepaid $838. I had a wonderful experience in 2022 and 2023 at this hotel. I'm so disappointed with the change in ownership. Please go somewhere else.. Update: they did not even clean the rooms, nor change the bedding/towels. When asked to speak with the owner at checkout (to ensure they did not add additional charges), his mom refused.

One star. I needed to change or cancel a reservation and they ran me through a loop saying that expedia would handle it, then charged me the full stay price. I've stayed at this Motel multiple times for ski trips. Zero respect or loyalty to customers, would cost them nothing to reschedule a stay to keep a customer loyal & happy.

The location is great and the cheapest place in walking distance, but the rooms could use some love. Tub fills with water while you shower, shower curtain about to fall off the wall, caulking needs replaced, toilets are right against the wall and all of the first floor smelled like Curry.Nearby activities: Lots of wine tasting in walking distance and the great Murphys Pourhouse is also nearby.

Spent one night at Murphy's Inn. Would I stay at this inn again, probably not. The positives are that the motel is relatively clean, reasonably up to date, the staff if friendly and the beds are comfortable. It's the details that make the difference. In room coffee pot was missing the piece that holds the coffee packet making the unit inoperable. Ice machine not working and there is only one unit for a two floor motel. Had to get management to the room to fix the TV. The motel is located on a corner, with highway 4 on side and the main exit to murphy's on the other side. If you are in the front rooms of the motel you have traffic noise. Kept my wife awake. Our room was on the first floor and you could easily hear people moving around on second floor unit above us.

I just checked in at Murphy's motel couldn't check in until after three and when I came back after my family dinner, the TV does not have all channels their kids running around upstairs in the room above me there's no refund the services are terrible here the pool is empty And the girl at the front desk doesn't know who owns the building are they lodge and you can't get a hold of it on the 800 number or you can't get the Wi-Fi website I would not recommend this place to anyone in the Murphy's area. It's a waste of money, unless you just wanna sleep with the kids aren't running around

Horrible management. Left outside in the cold unable to get into hotel after a night out. Waited 2 hours into the late night. No one answered the phone, no one at the front desk. After several calls to the hotel and to booking.com and knocking on the door we finally got someone to let is in.

Very nice, quiet hotel in downtown Murphys, CA. Food, gas, and amphitheater all very close.

oh, my God, this place has gone to hell. It has changed owners the new owners live on site, and they are more concerned about their home then running a Hotel and they are definitely not friendly or concerned about their guests. I stayed there many times before I will never stay there again. When you come in no one is manning the desk. You have to ring the bell and then a girl about 16 years old comes out basically wearing her PJs to check you in. I said thank you three times and never got it. You're welcome they don't run the air conditioner in the lobby or the hallways, the carpeting in the main areas and halls is filthy. The exterior needs paint and every flower bed is full of weeds. Next the room they have room air conditionings the day we it was 100° took four hours to cool a room off. While checking in the 16-year-old informed us that the main entrance closes at nine and you have to use a siding for us with your room key. We went out later that night, and like she said we entered over by the dumpster. Because they (owners) couldn't be disturbed with customers after nine. We went to the lobby. And they had a glass container full of stale Keebler cookies. Went back to our room. I want to use the bathroom and noticed the black mold in the toilet. Which tells me it has not been scrubbed in at least a week. Since there was nobody manning the front desk ever didn't see anyone there once and this was during the weekend Saturday afternoon I watched the parking lot fill up the lobby was for deep with customers and the same 16-year-old in her pajamas was checking people in the lobby and hallways were hot and stunk CURRY and ginger. Saturday night I went downstairs to get a Coke. Came back up and I wondered why room 205 door was wide open. I peaked in and there was a naked couple. It freaked me the hell out but who was I going to call the 16-year-old? this place is pitiful. I don't care if they paid you to stay there. Do not stay there.

We had such great service and our rooms were cozy. There were 4 couples that stayed here and we all said how well we slept. The beds were very cozy.We liked it so much that we reserved it for next year's event.

We have stayed at this motel periodically over the years and the new owners have remodeled nicely BUT….There is literally nobody at the front desk from 9 pm to 9 am. We were in town for a meeting and one of our friends accidentally locked himself out of his room. He had to spend the night in another friend’s room because there was nobody to give him another room key. We witnessed a couple that came in late after a long flight and couldn’t check in because there was nobody to check them in. Can you imagine what might happen if there was a plumbing leak, you run out of TP, or there’s a fire? I’ve stayed in a lot of unusual motel situations but there was always a way to get in touch with someone in charge. We will be staying down the road at the newer motel for future meetings.
