I feel very fortunate to have encountered such friendly staff at this post office.
When I was applying for my child's passport, Vo assisted us. She noticed that the photo size wasn't correct and informed us that if we could bring the correct-sized photo back the same afternoon, she could help us submit the application without needing to reschedule another appointment. Thanks to her, we were able to submit our application smoothly and receive the passport.
Recently, I didn't receive a letter that my family sent, so I filled out a form on the postal system to inquire about it. Tran responded efficiently and found out that the letter was at this post office. When I went to pick it up the next day, the staff couldn't find it. I emailed Tran again, and she promptly looked for it and called me back to confirm it was indeed at the post office. When I returned, I was able to find it! Thanks to Tran's proactive and friendly assistance, I was able to retrieve this important letter, and my family and I are very grateful to her!

Worst experience I’ve had in my entire life dealing with a post office. I just walked (August 24, 2024) in to the post office at 211 Hope St in Mountain View CA. I had my entire family with me. We are a mixed race family. We came for the “walk-in” hour for passport processing. As soon as I joined the line, one of the clerks looked visibly annoyed. After standing there for about 5 mins he yelled “no passports on Saturdays”. A couple of us on the line responded “the site says walk-ins accepted on Saturdays from 10-11”. He immediately put his “away” sign in front of his desk. After another few minutes, another clerk gave another reason. She says “the machine is blocked, we can’t do passports”.
If you have people, customers, mixed families or your work at the Post Office go find a new job.

I liked the treatment today because it's not always like that.

Pretty much the worst post office ever. The population of Mountain View has grown, but they've reduced post offices & hours. So now there's always a line out the door no matter when you go. Piles of boxes waiting to go out. Disgruntled postal workers yelling at each other behind the counter. Inconsistent service and adherence to postal regulations.
One time the customer next to me had a flat rate box bulging at the seams to about 150% of it's normal height, held together with duct tape - they mailed it no problem. My flat box was rejected by Reza because "the two top flaps don't touch". If it fits it ships right? Not here...
Half of the stuff people are waiting in line for could be done online or at a kiosk. So why not have a line just for certified/registered mail receipt and the like? I would literally pay more just for a dedicated express line. I don't need to wait for a the reps to help someone select a pretty stamp or wait for people to hand-write their labels and tape up their boxes at the counter.... My stuff is ready to go, so it really shouldn't need a human at all except it needs to be hand stamped...
The postmaster, Daffodil Lam should be ashamed at how this PO is run. Put in some more kiosks, automate things, or make sure that the counter is fully staffed when there is a line. It's nearly always busy at 5pm, so why not stay open later 1 or 2 nights a week so people don't have to rush there during lunch?

I tried to send a package to establish residency but they sent it back before I could even respond. Do you know how frustrating it is to try to establish that you occupy a residence just for the post office to tell you you don't exist?
By the way Tran Ta one of your employees is disrespectful and snarky. I talked to her via post it note and she crossed out the people that own and where trying to live there names and wrote vacant. I'm selling because the system of delivery is broken I hope you are happy.

They lost my package multiple times and being very rude. I dropped my package off at the counter with the help of their staff. I obtained the receipt. They still denied that they have possession of my package. Everytime they failed to answer my question, they’ll start yelling at me and saying that they don’t have time to deal with my case even if there’s not a lot of people waiting after me.
