Today June 30th 2024, Cousins and I were unjustifiably kicked out from this specific Safeway they called security on us and were harassing us and pressuring us to leave the store saying it was closing in 5 minutes(we got to the store at 12:12 online search says it closes at 2 AM) so we were trying to speed up and get our goods before but they kept hassling us to leave the store so till we left they kept following us!

Nice Safeway with standard selection of food, drinks and other things. You can use the Safeway App to see if they have something in stock before you visit, which is nice if you're looking for something specific or simply want to check prices. Friendly staff as well. I would have zero issues shopping here again.

It's one of the original Safeway stores. As old as I am and I'm 58 years old.

Hello today is probably the last time I shop this particular store that I have shopped in for fifteen years. For the sure reason that Leon Luis the checker thought it was more important to take out his personal cellphone and just start texting someone back during my transaction . Once he received a reply back his whole attitude changed for the worst. I worked for Safeway under Steve Bird for a majority of my long career in Safeway and it's so sad to see how bad the service is at this store. I even made eye contact to with the new store manager she never even greeted me as she passed bye me on three different parts on her store.Safeway back in the day was all about service now its sad to see how disenchanted it for the customers to have to deal with on daily basis.

I shop at this Safeway location because it's on the way home after I play tennis @ Cuesta Park and it's very convenient for me. I've always had great service every single time I've been there!???

On August 21st, 2023, I had a negative experience at Safeway on Miramonte, which stood out against the others. It made me reflect on the many microaggressions I've experienced every time I've shopped there. Since I'm a regular shopper at that location and have become familiar with many employees, I've noticed they no longer eye me up and down or follow me around the store. However, a small Hispanic lady did not warm up to me. But who cares? Everyone isn't going to like you.I was working and saw an associate who happens to also be African American at another self-checkout machine. When I noticed him, the lady watched him like a hawk as he bought his chips and a soda. I had fifteen items. When I approached the machine, she positioned herself against the back wall less than two feet away, with no social distance at all. Although extremely uncomfortable, I let it slide because I was masked up and only had fifteen items. As I scanned my items quickly, machines beeped as other customers rang up their items and needed help. The little lady kept running around, returning to my personal space damn near out of breath each time. I scanned some vegetables that the machine did not recognize, and it asked for assistance. She acted as if she couldn't see me, even managing to look over me, until I spoke. With a huff and a puff, she moved to the machine, pressed buttons with much attitude, and pulled up recordings of me scanning and putting things on the scale. She started looking and comparing the items on the scale, shook her head, and said she couldn't help me.I explained that she could count the items or look them over, but I needed her to clear the machine. She told me no, saying that I was stealing. I explained that I was a shopper and that it was not my money. I have no reason to steal while spending other people's money. I asked to speak with a manager, but she said no and walked away. I pulled out my phone, and she flipped her badge around and started running away as I snapped pictures. I followed her to the customer service door, where she ran inside and told another guy I was stealing.I explained to the male worker that I was a personal shopper and could not check out because she said I was stealing. I requested to speak with a manager and to pay for my items so I could continue working. Another employee happened by and asked what was going on. I again requested to speak with a manager and was told she was in a meeting. She walked me over to the self-checkout machine I was using, pressed a few buttons, and told me I could pay for my order. She apologized and told me the manager would contact me because Safeway "does not condone that behavior." She acknowledged knowing I was a gig worker and always seeing me.It has been over four months, and I am still waiting to hear from Safeway's management. I avoided the Safeway for a while and went to other Safeways when I could.I've since been back and seen all the people involved, but I have yet to figure out what I have done to this woman. She clearly remembers me and has the same attitude each time. She is very respectful and even chatty when it comes to other customers of other races, but when it comes to me, she is a ball of silence, rolled eyes, and exhales.

Maybe if the manager reaches out I'll add an extra start, hell, if they can tell me what I did to this woman I will give them 3.

I live a couple blocks away and decided to go to the local safeway instead of online grocery shopping. I never purchased a whole lot from here but started to go more often until the last couple months. I found a very moldy container of cheese tortellini marked september 20th on the packet for expiration date. I tried finding someone in the store but apparently everyone seemingly working there was a 3rd party vendor not an employee. Finally I went to the florist and she said yes I will get a manager to pull this item. I waited a good 10 to 15 minutes and no one came. Whatever I won't buy fresh pasta here anymore. Next few days getting random little items I noticed they still have the same pasta with the same expiration dates sitting there. Gross. This morning I went to get some fresh donuts and a few other smaller items. I had gotten donuts there before 6 am once before and everyone was not polite but not rude, but not today. I walked to the bakery saw a few donuts on stands and about 5 employees working the bakery. I was like okay I will just quietly wait by the frozen seafood. A woman wearing a cap who I guess is the manager started yelling at me from across the counter something with an unpleasant look and demeanor. I said I was waiting for donuts that is all, which I thought was innocent enough. She yelled some more that it was at 6 am that the donuts come out and gave me several "hand signals" indicating that I should leave. I was like okay I will spend my money elsewhere. I don't know who is "managing" this place but it seems like a bad grocery store the more I go there. I don't deserve to eat moldy food that I pay for then get yelled at by your employees. Must be an awful place to work at. I may update this with a photo of the moldy food later if possible. Buyer beware. Buy from House of Bagels which opens at 6 am in the same shopping area than this place for bakery goods and the local farmers market for fresh pasta or other food on sundays.
