Monday night ecstatic dance is fun. A nice place to dance without having to deal with drunk people, and having lots of space to spin around. There's a hippy/yoga vibe, but there is no pressure to become part of a cult. You just dance and dance until it is over. And you can dance like no one is watching, because people are really not watching. The custom is to dance without shoes and there is no socializing on the dance floor. You are free to lie on the floor and writhe around. The music varies depending on the DJ, but usually the music ramps up slowly allowing you to warm up. The sound is not ear bleeding loud, but it is a reasonably clean sound system. Could have a bit more bass.

The Lodge is a good space for our meetings, except our sound guy doesn't like where they've set their speakers. So we bring our own equipment and set it up, every time. Projection screen and Wi-Fi are good and floor is great. Parking can be tight (I live within walking distance, heh).

The ballroom dance we attended was fun. There weren't as many attendees as usual, so there was much more room to dance. (I like that) The dance floor was built the old style... raised wood floor... just right for dancing.

What? I can review the Masonic Center?I am in the White Shrine of Jerusalem so we meet here. I have also prepared many Masonic Dinners.Sunday Assembly in currently meeting here on the second Sunday of the month at 11:00am (coffee and snack from 10:30).The building has a stage and nice hardwood ballroom floor. Many different organizations meet here and I love this old building. There is a private parking lot as well as the large library parking lot next door. It borders Pioneer Park.

The Masonic Lodge on Church Street in Mt View is an exceptionally fine hall for any function that includes dining and dancing. First of all, the building itself is a lovely structure carrying a Spanish or early California motif. The parking lot is ample and there is also a lot of curbside parking available. There is an entry foyer for greeters or sign-in. This foyer is a charming place where you can admire an old portrait of President George Washington in full Masonic garb. The main hall is spacious and the floor is wall-to-wall hardwood. The floor is gentle on the feet as it is sprung rather than placed over concrete. Very nice. There is a stage for the musicians or a DJ and the speakers are placed on the stage. The lights can be dimmed or brightened as needed. There is a second side room also completely hardwood and it blends smoothly with the main hall. I have never been in the kitchen but the caterers seem to zoom in and out of there smoothly. The bathrooms are dated, but clean and well-appointed.
