As of 11/05/2024 I am extremely disappointed with the outcome at this dentist office. I scheduled an appointment for my wife’s wisdom tooth extraction, and what should have been a smooth procedure, turned into a nightmare. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed same day at Sunnyvale Dental Care in 2022. It went smoothly with far less complications. First, they told us our insurance would cover most of the procedure, but they brought up an unexpected fee of $898 to have platelet-rich plasma aka “autologous blood concentrate” that wasn’t covered through the insurance, and that the Dr. would not move forward with the procedure because this was imperative. That it needed a specialist in order to have it done without it. After doing some research this has nothing to do with the procedure but only affects the healing AFTER oral surgery. The procedure time was far longer than expected, with little communication from the staff. When the dentist finally finished the procedure she was left in far more pain than what was promised, after being told explicitly, it wasn’t going to happen for the additional treatment. I also felt that they manipulated the situation being that my wife was in pain prior to the surgery, young, and inexperienced. They didn’t explain the aftercare instructions clearly, and I had to follow up multiple times to get answers to basic questions. Now she is dealing with lingering pain and discomfort that could have been avoided. I would not recommend this office for anyone needing wisdom tooth surgery.

This place is so amazing, I have been coming here for over 3 years and they always do such a good job. Phelan Ignacio is the most incredible dental hygienist ever, and really takes the time to get rid of tea, stains, and make every nook and cranny of your teeth, including the back of the teeth, sparkle! Dr Lou has a fantastic gregarious personality and is the master of cavity fillings - long lasting and high quality!!! She also remembers all her patients and details about their lives - very impressive!

From basic cleaning, fillings, crowns, extraction, and emergency dental implants (yes I've need all that work done), Dr. Lou is unbelievably amazing. Even back to back root canals were painless! Front desk and dental assistants are unmatched and welcoming. You can watch TV. If lucky, they'll get you coffee and a snack if needed! Best dentist ever.

I’ve been a patient for more than 25 years. Dr. Lou is one of my favorite people - kind, thoughtful, and has taken great care of my complicated teeth. Her staff is friendly and always accommodating. Couldn’t recommend them more!!

My mother in-law had been going here for around 10 years out of convenience. The husband of the Doctor has always been confrontational, Unfortunately she had canceled an appointment and the owners husband argued with her and told her she still owed $75 for a appointment that was not canceled on there part. She was told if she didn't pay the $75 for the other appointment they did not cancel she could not be seen. The owner told not to come back. Which is ok but be warned they do not care about the patients they only care about the money.

Dr. Lou is great. She worked very hard to make my front 2 crowns look perfect. You can tell that she cares about her patients.

A huge money grab and poor skills. Proposed a treatment plan with exact cost breakdown. Later, temporary crown fell off. When going back for the permanent seal, I was told I needed to see a specialist for other procedures before they can finish off.
Then my insurance denied the whole claim. The bill is now in collections.
Please avoid, unless you are truly rich and don't care about your teeth

Cheated me out of cash, mixup of insurance when my father informed me i did have coverage. I asked for a refund after paying for in house insurance plan they offer "Save a Smile". Receptionist informed me there was no refund to give when i paid for Save a smile membership for the year, as well as co-pay for blue shield. On my bank statement there was a posted charge, as well as duplicate pending charge of the same amount and they said talk to my bank about it, i did, and they stated to get that money back from the dentist office.Will not be coming back.

What a great experience I’ve had at Mountain View Family Dentistry. I’m just blown away! The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I was so at ease with my visit. And I would like to thank Dr. Lou for her expertise and extraordinary dental work. I’m a patient from out of state that needed an implant after getting injured while playing with my dog. I was referred by a friend who knew Dr. Lou. She was highly recommended and I am so grateful to have met her. She took her time in discussing her proposed treatment plan. Dr. Lou was very thorough. I became aware of the pros and cons, which made me truly understand what I needed. Can’t thank everyone enough for a wonderful experience!!!

They care more about your money and not taking care if you.They ask u what you do for work but didnt ask which teeth was hurting. Showed little interest in healping guest with concerns.Just want money kinda of dentistry.

They have a nice comfy chair and Netflix to lull you into believing all the work done is necessary. They gave me on average 3-5 X-rays every single visit. The dentist insisted I needed 8 FILLINGS. I should have run away right then. Later, she chipped a tooth when filling another. Two root canals. They gave GONE OVER the amount covered on my plan and I owe $2000. This has never in my life happened before. I’m a teacher and cannot afford this scam.STAY AWAY
