If you are a truck driver, try to avoid this place. The dock manager Juan is an Ahole for no reason. I don't do to many reviews but I had to do one for this company. The absolute worst!

We hired them to move our furniture and belongings to a new home. Our old house is on a narrow street so they brought a mid size truck then loaded our stuff onto a larger truck at a depot. The truck they brought was too small and they had to cram all our stuff in. They ignored our suggestion to take the leaf out of our heavy dining room table and slid the table top into a narrow gap on top of a large pile of boxes. They also turned my loaded toolbox onto its side, jamming all the drawers. Apparently the table top fell out of the truck; it was destroyed. Approximately 4.5" was broken off the end of the table and shattered into small pieces. The driver argued that he had "a guy" who could fix it for about $200. Of course his guy didn't show up. When we called the company, they told us that we had to pay them $500 and only then would they tell us who the repair person was who we would have to take it to. Our own furniture repair expert said that it couldn't be repaired. The company ghosted us until we asked a lawyer friend to contact them. It then became clear that their own furniture repair person had told them it could not be repaired. They were just trying to s***** us into paying them an extra $500. Thanks to the lawyer, we eventually got a payment of $1000, about 1/2 the replacement value of the table. Another more minor thing: they disassembled my bike without telling me and reassembled it wrong putting the front fork backwards. Fortunately I spotted it the first time I went to ride it because a reversed fork is very dangerous.

The most untrustworthy people! Do not hire this company. They were stealing money off my card for months. They damaged my furniture and Jeff Dennis the claims guy said our stuff was not covered!!! They told us the had insurance if anything got damaged while in storage and while being delivered. SCAMMERS!!!

Thieves!! These crooks took my blue tooth speaker. I gave them plenty of opportunity to return it, no questions, and all I got was ignored. Aside from that they are liars who refused to take any responsibility for destroying my stuff or cleaning up after they soiled my carpets and dinged the walls due to being careless and lazy. Save yourself headache and don't bother even calling them.

Please spare yourself and your things from Metropolitan. It all started in early August when Fred came to our home for a quote. He was nice enough and very promptly sent us a quote on a Friday afternoon. I also promptly filled out the paperwork that night and sent to Fred. After five days of waiting to hear our paperwork had been received (red flag that they hadn't even confirmed receipt), I called the office. It had been received and I would get a call with the pick up date. I found out our customer service rep was ARACELI CARILLO. Avoid her. She is awful. After several calls, they confirmed they'd be at our house on 8/14. I'd ask for a direct pack and ship (18-wheeler loads our stuff directly). She said she couldn't confirm if that would happen or not. Red flag #2. I begged her to email me so I'd have some paper trail of our conversation. She sent me a one line email confirming our move should be on 8/14. I had told them repeatedly I have a 15-week old daughter and wanted to direct ship so we could go without all her things for as little time as possible. On 8/11 at 4:45pm, Araceli confirmed the guys would be there to load on Monday, 8/14. She still "wasn't sure if it was a direct pack." How is that even possible??? 8/14: 8am. The Solan (Rob, Tom and Denze) moving team arrives. They are picking up our items to take the the warehouse. I WAS LIED TO. THEY DID NOT SCHEDULE US FOR A DIRECT SHIP. That said, the team was great. Super nice. Careful with our stuff. Couldn't say enough good things about them. 8/21: first day of "delivery window." Called the office. Spoke to mark. He said our stuff hadn't been picked up yet but would be on 8/22 and possibly to Texas by Saturday (8/26). Im ecstatic... not for long. Again, I'm initiating EVERY PHONE CALL. THEYVE ONLY CALLED ME 1x!!!!! 8/23: Call and speak to Araceli. She told me it. Is looked like 8/30 for our delivery. She would look into it and call me back. 8/24: at 4pm, Araceli still hasn't called. I call the office. She says our stuff loaded yesterday and is in route but looking like 9/1. The lies continue. Just awful. Just awful. She tells me she's only worked there three months and doesn't know what else to tell me. My husband follows up with Mark who apologizes but generally says now that it is loaded it is out of his hands. What great customer service (not!!!!). 8/25: we speak to driver. He says good are loaded but he had other items to load tomorrow (8/26). He will not be dropping us off first either. He's going to Oklahoma first. I called Atlas Corporate, and a kind lady there told me they should our goods as delayed. Do you think anyone had told me that from Metropolitan? No way. They still have only called me one time and sent one email. I guess that's there way of making sure there's no documentation the horrible, awful customer service. I don't know when our goods will show up or if at all. Cross country moves are stressful enough. They'll most likely get here on 9/1, the last possible day of our window. Please avoid Metropolitan. You'd probably be best avoiding Atlas too. I'd done so much research and felt so good about my selections. I was dead wrong. Please take this from someone who has cried way too much over a move. It will have taken my goods 17 days to get from CA to TX. My husband is making the same drive in two. Metropolitan has the worst customer service. If you get Araceli as your customer service rep, run as fast as possible to another moving company. I've moved with Mayflower before and will definitely take my long distance business back to them. This has been awful. The worst.

The moving coordinator forgot to file my information and every time I called him trying to get confirmation or scheduled time just kept telling me they would call me as the move got closer until I finally went around him and found out the moving company hadn't booked me and was overbooked the day i was supposed to move. The move itself was a nightmare, packers dropped a box with my entertainment center components over a banister down a full flight of stairs. Delivery was the very last possible day in their window, i was never given my actual weight (should have been refunded for being under estimate), many furniture pieces were dismantled after leaving my house in one piece, none of them had all the pieces when they arrived at final destination. almost every box was crushed to some extent. nothing was labeled correctly but unpackers didn't pay attention to what was labeled when they unloaded anyway. calls after delivery have not been returned.
