The worst rental place I’ve been to… I reserved a midsize car and when I went there to pick up the car, they wanted to give a compact electric car. Or I had to pay more to upgrade the model.

I've always had an excellent experience renting from this place. The folks are nice, calm, and collected. They were helpful in assisting me and giving me options.One thing for folks wanting to rent from here:But they do get busy starting at around 8AM with folks dropping in to rent and return. So, don't come in expecting you'll be out in 5 minutes. Plan accordingly. Assume you'll have to wait about 15 minutes if you are coming during the rush hour.This will save you from getting upset at yourself/staff when you are not helped immediately.

Very frustrating experience. Booked a vehicle and got the confirmation, but when picking up the vehicle they told me it’s not available unless I upgrade significantly. They didn’t even feel sorry.

Why I choose Hertz I don't know.Don't take online reservation prices granted. You should be paying much more higher insurance fees than your car price.Very slow pick up process, associates not helpful to the customers.If I had a chance not to rent it from here, I wouldn't rent it absolutely.

Waited an hour online. Was having trouble booking the reservation over the app or on the website when I tried to get help, the representative told me that they were understaffed and that he had to help the line first (which I was on) that most likely had "reservations" but they didn't. I feel like my time was wasted and did not care about helping me.

We had a rental SUV which we wanted to replace with a Tesla. Problem was the SUV had to go back to SFO, and Tesla pickup at Mountain View. The person who assisted us in Mountain View was extremely helpful, and allowed us to drop off the SUV there, saving us a trip to SFO and back. Kudos for customer service!

Our experience was very good. We were assisted by Richard who was VERY professional, courteous and helpful. He acknowledged our presence while he was helping someone ahead of us. He went above and beyond to help a customer who needed help with drying off the windows of her freshly washed rental. He provided us with clear info regarding our own rental.He basically had very good customer service. I see that Hertz's ratings here arent that great but they are VERY lucky to have Richard on their team.Thank you! Monica Z

Slow pickup process even after online reservation and no queue at the store.Return is quick. Better to have the after-hour return back.

If you need to rent a car in Mountain View go to this Hertz location. They are professional, and helpful. They also perform well under stress when there are a lot of people. I had previously gone to alum rock to rent a car but was met with much worse service. Much better service than the other non-airport locations, and doesn't come with the fees of renting at the airport.

First time to rent a car at Mountain View Hertz, their selection is not as many as the location at Santa Clara Walsh road, so I could not get a complementary upgrade even with President’s Circle tier. The customer service people are courteous and efficient, you get the car within 10 minutes. All in all, I will choose Santa Clara location for better car selections and complementary upgrades. Terrible customer service. I booked online and had all my confirmation. I didn't receive any phone call or text from them except the confirmation, and I even called them to ask for a pickup but no one was answering my call (someone seemed to pick up but I didn't hear any sound for like over 1 min, then I called again and someone hanged it up). I took uber to come 15 mins early and there was one guy only at the counter (around 11am on July 11th). He then told me that they did not have the car I booked, and that it was my fault for not calling ahead of time to check and verify availability?!!! I said it wasn't my fault for not knowing that (why do I even need to book online then?), and the guy didn't offer any apology except telling me to take another car that I absolutely don't like and aint sure about the price. It was absolutely wrong in their part, but the worst thing is the attitude of the agent. He was blaming it on me and even seemed to laugh at me for showing up, then gave me a flyer with Hertz customer relation number and told me to call myself to cancel the booking and complain about anything. It's just disgusting and irresponsible. They also don't have chair to wait inside at this location, so at a hot mid-day I had to go outside and called to cancel and told them about the sh!tty attitude of the agent. They apologized and canceled and that's it, but I had to walk a bit to find a cafe then called other rental place then called another uber to go there. So I went to palo also hertz location and the asian girl there was somewhat nicer and apologized about what happened to me and helped me with getting a car I was more satisfied with. However, when I returned the car to this location today, I met another girl who tried to lecture me about calling before coming in the future. Hertz really needs to fix their listing and booking system but most importantly their employees' attitude. It's like they just show up to get salary and don't really take any responsibility for the quality of their jobs and the company image. Again, it's purely disgusting.

I was in need of a rental car due to a rear-end accident. Apparently the person (READ: The person had just gotten her license 14 days ago and was driving her Dad's Mercedes) was looking at her phone and didn't notice that none of the cars in front of her were moving.... PLEASE TO TEXT AND DRIVE - Your "Public Service Announce" for the day... OK, back to the review. As I was looking for a rental car I had a number of questions that I needed to get answered before I entertained setting up a rental car online. The Hertz Mountain View location was convenient (close to where I was having my car repaired) so I decided to call them. I was greeted on the phone by Julian. Julian was so very patient with me and made sure that I was satisfied with the answers to my questions. He had a lot of great advice so it was only right I rent through Hertz. When it came time to pick up my car it was clean and ready to rent. Now this was no ordinary rental as multiple times I had to contact Julian and ask for an extension as my car was still at the body shop. Julian always assured me I'd have a car to use, AND he also made sure I was aware of the expenses for the extension. Throughout the entire experience Julian provided me great customer service and this is WHY I would rent with Hertz again in the future. Thank you, Julian!

Small Hertz rental but the manager and employee are really nice and try and get you the vehicle you want. And have your rental ready when you arrive. Fast check in and out.
