This was a great gym for a drop in. I was able to sign up for class easily online ahead of time. Tim (owner/coach) is really experienced and knowledgeable. The people were friendly and very welcoming and the gym was organizing and well equipped. Looking forward to my next visit.

I'm not a stereotypical fitness fanatic. I've dabbled noncommittally to all kinds of physical activities over the years like foot races and daily commuter cycling. I even tried Crossfit once when I lived on the east coast. All of these activities were of course very beneficial. But this time it's different.I've been attending Crossfit Palo Alto consistently 3x per week for 2.5 years. And without a doubt it has quantifiably made me stronger. I know because we keep meticulous personal journals where we document every exercise and every weight lifted. The result is I can pick-up and move much heavier weights than I could 3 years ago.I've also seen qualitative gains as well. Primarily, I JUST MOVE BETTER NOW. It's improved my mobility / range of motion, it's made me a better skier, a better golfer, a better runner and I'm convinced it's made me a better father and husband as well.

Gym doesn't offer open gym and wouldn't let me find a corner to complete a workout for an online competition I'm in (would've happily paid a fee). I get that that's not their policy but I've never run into crossfitters that weren't eager to help another athlete on their journey. Pretty disappointing. Went to Ncfit instead (down the street), which was bigger, friendlier, and more accommodating.

Great trainers and environment. Last July, I went to an intense yoga retreat and was so sore I skipped some of the workshops. I started CrossFit in October. This year I returned to the yoga retreat and breezed through 3-5 hours of yoga a day while most people around me were whimpering in pain!CrossFit has really built my strength, motivation and physical confidence. Tim and Andrew are amazing trainers and sticklers for form. The community feel is really nice also.

I get classes for free at other gyms since I work as a martial arts trainer, but I still choose to pay to come here. Why? For Coach Tim's Dymmelisms and a great workout that keeps me strong AND flexible.Enjoy

I started CrossFit a year ago to improve my strength for Spartan OCR Races.I was happy to find a welcoming community of all types of individuals at CrossFit Palo Alto. It was nice to find folks of all ages and abilities. I enjoy that all the workouts can be scaled to your ability level. Plus, CrossFit keeps me interested, because of the variety of exercises and workouts and I am always learning something new or have the ability to improve.I have definitely gained strength in all areas, which has helped me with my running and ability to complete obstacles.Working out with a community has kept me motivated and accountable with my own training. I have enjoyed participating in the CrossFit Open and a MURPH workout.

I've belonged to three different CrossFit gyms, and CrossFit Palo Alto is hands down my favorite and the best I've experienced in terms of community, quality of coaching and programming. Tim is a super knowledgable, very professional, and will meet you where you're at whether it's your first fitness class ever or you've been working out for years. I really appreciate his emphasis on making CrossFit a sustainable practice and part of your weekly routine. He keeps the workouts challenging, varied and interesting. I been amazed by how much stronger and more physically capable I feel just from going to class twice a week. I highly recommend checking this gym out!

I joined CrossFit Palo Alto in the middle of the pandemic. My goals were to continue my strength training journey and hopefully make a friend or two along the way. Yes, I can squat deeper and deadlift close to my bodyweight now (I'll have to write another testimonial about my Home Depot "you must go to the gym?" "nah, I crossfit" story). But I have made more than a friend or two. My 7am family and Coach Tim are the reason why I signed up for the CrossFit Games Open without hesitation. I wall-balled, burpee'ed, and snatched but I ultimately went to be nervous with, spur on, and beam with pride for my 7am family. And then commisera(ble)te with the next day when we had to get through that dreaded first warm-up squat. If you want to get stronger and gain a family, come check out CFPA! The commiserating also includes lots of potlucks, dad jokes, and believing that you have one more rep in you when you don't think you do.

I started at Crossfit 6 months ago, and love it! Owner/Coach Tim provides a great community and atmosphere. You will be challenged to workout harder then you have before, but also will be supported by the coach and other members to help you succeed.I've already learned a lot more about fitness, and have picked up other health/wellness tips as well. If you want to reinvent your workout and try something new, I recommend scheduling the intro class!

I dropped in to CFPA last week for a great quartet of workouts. I was in town for business and reached out to them through their website about a week before. They responded the same night and worked out enrollment easily over the next day or so via email. The price was reasonable and they were very accommodating with my schedule. I attended classes with two of the coaches: Graeme for three of the mornings and Tim one morning. Both were competent, attentive, and took the time to ensure I was comfortable with the exercises and helped to scale any of the movements as needed. I especially appreciated them going that extra mile since I was only visiting for the week! The calisthenic-focused warmups really got the heart pumping and muscles warm. The WODs and strength sections were challenging, but not overly so. At all stages the movement instruction was clear and well demonstrated and the classes were run to a tight schedule. Lastly the other folks exercising were warm and inviting. It is a great and supportive community with very little ego. With the bonus of lots of joking and camaraderie! All in all, I highly recommend anyone looking to join, whether to drop in or as their regular local gym, to consider CFPA. You can't go wrong!

I completed one year at CFPA and love it here. I started during the pandemic and the facility took all necessary precautions. We had classes outside under tents before we transitioned back inside. Several folks I work out with have been here 5 plus years -- it's a testimony to the coaches and the team that run the place. I have trained with Graeme in the last year and he always focuses on improving your form and demos multiple variations of the workout from easy to hard. No need to be intimidated if you haven't done CrossFit before, you push yourself to do what you can and you start scaling once you have mastered the correct form. The community is great and people really care about each other. Working out here gives me the energy to get through the day. If the timing works for you, Tim the owner and coach teaches an all women's class at 9:00 a.m. on (M,W,F). If you have never done CrossFit or lifted weights, don't worry, walk in with some patience and you will be surprised.
