Yesterday around 8:15 pm, my friends and I walked into the City Sports Mountain View location looking to get me a guest pass for a 3 trial. We were sat down with an employee named Noel (I believe this is his name). He asked me "Have you been here before?" and I replied "Not this location, but I've been to the Monterey location last year." He said that there was a policy in which if I was a guest within the past 6 months, I am not allowed back as a guest. I told him to look me up in the system and tell me when the last time I've been to a City Sports was because I did not remember exactly which month it was. He said he could check, but the system will automatically block me from activating a guest pass. He then asked, "Why are you trying to get a guest pass anyway if you've been a guest before? Why not just get a membership?" I explained to him that my commitments to the gym have been on and off, so I wanted to have a 3 day trial to see if I want to commit to a membership. He responded, "What makes this time any different?" I said, "This time I have my friends to help me stay motivated." He told me that who I go with isn't the issue, it's me. When he finally took my ID to look me up, he says that the system blocked me just as he predicted. He didn't disclose to me exactly when the last time I've activated a guest pass was. He said my only option was to pay the $20 daily pass. Keeping in mind that the gym closes in an hour, I felt that it was not worth it to pay half a month's worth of membership for an hour at the gym. I declined and headed outside. When I was outside, I looked up when my last guest pass activation was. It was May 2023, almost 10 months ago. We walked back inside to confront the worker. He said that I was not allowed inside because I've been here within 6 months and my only option is to pay the $20 day pass. I told him that my last guest pass was back in May 2023, which was more than 6 months ago. He shrugged and said that I need to pay the $20 fee if I want to use this facility. I told him I don't want to spend $20 for an hour. Then, this City Sports employee looked me in the eyes and said to my face, "You can't afford $20? $20 is nothing." After this degrading, belittling, hurtful comment that this employee made, my three friends and I turned our backs and headed outside. As we were walking away, we overheard him say to the front desk guy, "I can't believe she's bitching about $20. $20 is nothing". Because of this incident, City Sports lost a potential member and 3 existing members. We will be looking for other gym membership options. Don't join City Sports Club.

This gym is so clean! There is someone cleaning at all times. The staff are very friendly and go above and beyond if there is ever an issue. This gym also has lot of equipment so you don't have to be waiting for long periods of time. The equipment is well kept and functional. They also have a ton of cardio machines. I highly recommend this gym.

Pathetic management. We registered our Daughter swimming in this location. Water was very cold we complained multiple times every time the Staff (Christine) mentioned that thermostat is showing correct but she is NOT touching the water. Membership manager is also another useless when we tried to complain he was very less attentive. Never visit this location.

Horrible service and disgusting attitude from the employee Noel at this location. Customer service is not the right field for him and he needs to work on controlling his anger. Never coming here again and I am canceling my membership.

I have been coming here since 2014 since it opened and seen lots of changes. Management not very responsive to anything really with high turnover of indifferent people, so don't bother. Machines are busy during the rush times and the kids swimming clubs is also invasion for profit. The sauna is full of Americans who come in from the gym floor in sweaty clothes and outside shoes without showering making it super unhygienic, (just gross, google how use a sauna before everyone gets legionnaires) when all of that gunk is in the air for you to breathe. Staff also have no idea how a sauna works (I asked them several times) and encourage it so good luck. They took out the basket ball court for a training company corporate facility so good to know they are still Making profit while reducing facilities for paying members.

I have been coming here since 2014! I was one of the first people when it just opened I kept my membership even during pandemic when it was closed! Used to be a great place but now its so crowded & busy that you can't use any of the machines! The staff is rude to the point that near closing they threaten to call the police if you are not out by certain time! They call it trespassing! I think police has much more serious problems to deal with than making sure the members are out of the gym by certain time! Lol

Really enjoying this gym so far! Mark Barbadillo was warm and friendly when helping us get set up for our time here. The gym itself is spacious, clean and has a lot of machines. Would definitely recommend!

The gym staff demonstrated a lack of professionalism and courtesy, making it challenging to interact with them. Despite being a consistent client for seven months, they refused to cancel my membership and personal trainer sessions, persistently charging my account even after three cancellation requests. Additionally, there were inconsistencies in the training sessions, as the trainer mistakenly believed I had signed up for two sessions per week instead of the paid three. This behavior reflects a questionable mindset and shady business practices, suggesting they may not be fit to operate a business in the area.

I was using the gym, because there was a child park. But then they decided to close it, so I changed my gym. Overall I liked the place ? Nice classes like yoga and Zumba, a lot of different equipment and also free weights. It was pretty busy at any time, mornings and evenings, sometimes I had difficulty finding parking.

Great variety and volume of equipment. Kept pretty clean. Wish they brought back what they used to have, which was someone going around racking dumbbells, arranging equipment, etc. They used to have someone that sprayed equipment after covid allowed gym re-opening. He would rack weights and keep the place tidy.

Literally the best gym. Budget friendly, friendly staff and excellent personal training staff. Clean and the towel service is very nice.

I had my first experience at this gym this Monday, and I am beyond impressed! Right from the start, a staff member named Davin provided a warm welcome. He kindly gave me a thorough introduction of the gym facilities and services, ensuring that I felt comfortable and well-informed.The registration and check-in process were handled seamlessly, thanks to Davin's professionalism and attention to detail. He patiently listened to all my questions and provided clear, concise answers, genuinely caring for my concerns and needs. It's evident that Davin truly thinks of the customer first, and his exemplary service positively reflects on the entire gym establishment. His friendly and professional demeanor not only enhanced my initial impression of the gym but also convinced me to return more frequently in the future. I firmly believe that the management should recognize and reward Davin’s exceptional service. In light of the excellent customer service provided by Davin, I will enthusiastically recommend this gym to my friends and colleagues. Looking forward to many more positive experiences here!

I really like this place. Only downside is that Mark guy. He’s really so rude and he kept being rude to his staff. I like all the other staff there especially the girl up front she’s really pretty and nice. Upside I also like Peter as well, very kind gentlemen. He gives great customer service and always greets people with the cutest face. 10/10 like the people up front they are really great. But that Mark guy. He is a no go!!! Very mad they are getting rid of the basketball court. (Thumbs down) (thumbs down) (thumbs down)

Just read the comments below, I've been a member at this gym for over 6 years and unfortunately it's crumbled apart recently. It's technically a "signature" premium location and the basketball court has been broken for 9 months with no plan to fix, kids club permanently closed, bikes are broken in the cycle room, the hot tub was broken for months last year, holes in the wall from medicine balls, the list goes on. The operations manager, Kristin, is rude and incapable of running this gym.
