After banking for many years with this branch I am sad to say I will be leaving Citibank after my experience here. The lack of competence here is beyond belief. After making an ATM deposit last week, $500 of my deposit went missing. Nothing has been done after multiple attempts of following up on my case. I am beyond disgusted and disappointed. It's been 5 days now and nothing has been resolved!

This is for the Costco card customer service line at 855-378-6467. My Costco charges were getting declined for the last several days so I was in Costco and went to Membership to ask them what's going on. They said my membership was up to date so the problem isn't on their end and to call the number on the back of the card. I called the number on May 19, 2022 and spoke with a Jonathan. My balance was $125, and my credit limit is over $10,000 so no reason why my charges weren't going though. He could not understand this and asked me to get a calculator several times in order to calculate my outstanding balance. I told him, if my balance and new charges are under my limit, why can't I make a charge. Again, he asked me to get a calculator and again I explained the situation to me, he finally understood the problem. He then says my payments are on hold. I ask why? He said due to the large amount. I said, well they have already been withdrawn from my bank and show up on the citi website so what is the problem? We are holding these payments for 10 days. WTF? Time to go Karen. So I ask for his manager, Rachel and she says due to the large amount we have put these payments on hold for 10 days. We then get on a three way call with my bank to verify the payment. Rachel then identifies herself as Beatrice to the bank teller. Anyways, after the bank teller verifies all the payments Rachel/Beatrice releases the payments and I can make charges on my card. As a standard procedure, Citi should call and email the customer to tell them that their payments are on hold until they are verified so they won't be reflected in credit available. Citi should then explain how to resolve it. Additionally, Citi should hire better first line support that can understand a basic problem like the customer can't charge anything on his card, when his limit is over $10,000 and his outstanding balance is $125.

Minimally competent staff with no customer service orientation. They seemed to think it was ok that we were going to be locked out of all access to our account until an ATM card arrived by snail mail. They promised to expedite it. Four days later, still waiting because they sent it by regular mail. Find another branch.

I was recently at the Citi Bank in Mountain View to open a checking account for a senior citizen and for myself. Unfortunately, we left the branch with 4 opened accounts (2 checking and 2 unnecessary saving), and none was specific for a senior citizen. The banker was unskilled and unfriendly. I had to go to another branch and close the accounts. Minutes after completing the survey about the situation, to my surprise, I was contacted by phone by the same banker who had created the problems, as he wanted to give me some explanations about my bad review about him in the survey. I wonder why I wasn't contacted by his manager. Very disappointed.

If you value your time then don't even think of coming to this citi bank. They questioned me for loosing my card and then were asking my questions I've never got asked before that was completely inappropriate for them to be asking. They also lied they didn't have my ID on file when how in the world can you even open an account with out an ID? Also asked to speak to manager but he was to busy yelling at this old Indian lady. Never come here.

Very bad experience!! My college daughter opened a basic banking package in August hoping to earn $200 with her $5000 from her summer job. The banker Binu Panthi helped us. It took over an hour to open the accounts. We repeatedly told her we don't need checks or ATM. We just want to park the money and earn the $200 bonus. Three months later, when we checked to see if we got the bonus, we found out that we got charged for overdraft $34 for no reason and checks $25.95 which we never ordered and received. What a horrible experience! Now we can not get the $200 bonus because of those two charges.Very bad customer care services. What a waste of time to open accounts with Citi Bank.

One star is too gratuitous for such a poor performing branch. They won't help you if they don't like you or how you look.

Really really bad experience, went to the branch at 1pm, and put my name on the list, wait for 40 mins, and the banker told me I can not help you because the branch will close at 2pm. Very rude, without any apologies. Will never went to this branch anymore.

Surly, rude, and deceitful customer service. My dog chewed up a couple of $20 bills, but they were still mostly intact (serial numbers visible and about 80% of the bills undamaged). I read on the internet that in such condition you can bring these bills into your local bank to exchange. I am discussing this with the teller when from a back desk I hear someone say, in an irritated voice, "we can't accept it." Both the teller and I look over, and the woman at the back desk once again says, in a increasingly irritated voice,"we don't do that!" This women doesn't even look up, doesn't explain, doesn't come over to talk to me directly, and clearly shows that she is irritated. Later I go to a different Citibank branch and they accept the bills without any issue.

Tellers are pretty good but the bankers are extremely rude. I will never come back to this branch. The wait times is horrendous. There seems to be racial bias towards Chinese customers. One and half hours to get to talk to a banker. The Palo Alto and Fremont branches are so much better.

Elizabeth Perez is a gem of a bank manager. She sorted out a 5 year old banking mistake of mine using her magic banker tricks. A+

I just had a great experience at this branch. They took my right in and Eric was super knowledgeable and helpful. I was trying to open a special kind of account and he knew exactly what to do. Not sure where the previous bad reviews were coming from. This place is great!

After over 12+ years as a customer, I am taking my business elsewhere. Their system for debit cards is beyond unreasonable. I always make sure I have enough money in my checking account. But yet, at least once a month, my card will get declined by the bank. I call the 800 number asking what is the problem (since I have money in my account) and here is what I have heard: "you were not in your regular city" HUH?!? I cannot travel without getting my card declined? or... "you usually don't shop at XYZ store" HUH?!? I cannot try a new department store without them putting a stop payment, even though I clearly have money in my account? The bizarre number of times I've gotten declined at restaurants due to Citibank's inane overly cautious rules is downright embarrassing! $40 pizza bill...declined...even though checking account might have over $2k in it. I have never had a card compromised, nor have I ever reported my card stolen. So to constantly be declined is just beyond my comprehension. The fact that I have stayed a Citibank customer as long as I have says a lot about my loyalty. But NO MORE!!! I am furious with them. Never again. There are TONS of banks out there to give our business to.
