We lived here for a bit over two years. The main upsides were a decent rent and the nice location close to both the San Antonio shopping center and the Caltrain. Also, the pool was a nice amenity, although we didn't use it much. However, there were several issues and disappointments that we would like to share as words of caution for anyone considering this place:- On multiple occasions, we observed cockroaches in the apartment. Pest control came by each time to deal with it, but tenants should expect this to be a recurrent issue. - The stairwells often smelled funky from the old carpet (main stairwell) or even worse due to garbage chutes (side stairwells). - Washing machines and dryers were frequently out of service and the charge was quite steep given the limited capacity per machine. The drainage from the washing machines often leaked out on the floor, causing a mess. On numerous occasions, there were not enough machines available and we had to walk across the street to use the laundromat. - Noise travels easily between apartments. Indoor exercising and kids running in the apartment above created a lot of disturbing sounds/noise. - Rent is posted and paid via the tenant portal before the first of each month (late fees are applied). While this is reasonable, they posted an adjustment to the rent (a rent increase) with only two days' notice before the due date. We were lucky that we noticed this in time to avoid late fees, but it felt quite unprofessional. - Part of the security deposit should essentially be viewed as permanent payment for cleaning charges when moving out. We cleaned for more than 10h and checked with the guidelines to make sure we did not miss anything. We are confident the apartment was left cleaner than when we moved in. However, they claim that some dust was seen on the blinds and that there was still some dirt behind the fridge. As a result, the full cleaning charge of $320 was deducted from the security deposit, which seems ridiculous. - The upstairs neighbors flooded their apartment twice, which led to water damage in our unit. We reported each incident, but it took months from the first reporting until any measure to remedy the situation was taken by the management team. At this point, a faint smell of mold had already emerged. The necessary repairs meant that we had to stay at a hotel for almost two weeks and it then took another two-three weeks until the bathroom was back to normal. The hotel cost was reimbursed, but no other compensation for extra costs or inconvenience was offered.

Would rate this place a zero if I could.I had moved in a haste without noticing some details during the tour. But I regretted within a month of moving in. I had to move out early and sublease it with someone else, because I was worried about surviving the summer there.1. The carpets on the stairs and hallways are pungent and full of stains. There have been many a times I’ve noticed rotting food, and spilled liquids on the stairs.2. The insulation for heat and sound is pathetic. I could hear everything from my neighbors’ mobile phones vibrating to every footstep people take. When I tried to setup a white noise speaker for sleeping well, that apparently was loud enough to keep other neighbors awake.3. Once a month the laundry payment system is broken, rendering all the machines useless4. Getting hold of the property manager is difficult. When I had setup a meeting, she just kept moving the meetings last minute, and expected to comply.5. Maintenance is slow. It took them 3 weeks to fix the bedrooms’s broken heater.6. The century old elevator is useless. Check it, and you’ll know why.7. Jacuzzi is filled with pungent water. Tried it once, and regretted immediately8. Ventilation is so bad that the studio style apartments rise in temperatures by 5-6 degrees compared to outdoors. The only good things are the Caltrain station, Safeway, and San Antonio mall next to this place. Nothing to do with the apartment itself.

The building and apartments have MOLD! You can smell it the minute you walk in. Run don’t walk

Apartment provided me with a parking space that I cannot park and refused to assign me to a different parking space available.

Worst experience in my life. Apartment is right next to the road, so it's very noisy. It always makes me tired. The manager is horrible. When your lease ends, they won't give you back your deposit. Last year, I paid about two thousand deposit and they didn't give me back instead they request more money. Horrible experience. Please stay away from this place.

I moved out recently after living here for 20 months. My lease was 63 pages long for a 593sqft apartment. Deposit $1,000 rent $2195. There is a swimming pool and an overpriced credit card required laundry room. The elevator is too small to use to move furniture up to the 2nd or 3rd floor. The staircases are too narrow to move a medium size sofa up to the 2nd or 3rd floor. I don't know how anyone moves furniture in this complex. I guess they all buy from IKEA. The smells in the building of garbage are sickening. I cleaned my apartment every Saturday, counters, kitchen, bathroom, floors, dusting, etc..At move out, the manager gave me the option of using their cleaning service for $230 or clean the apartment myself. I cleaned my relatively clean apartment for about 10 hours, paying special attention to the kitchen, fully cleaned the fridge, replaced all the burner pans on the stove top, cleaned the oven, mopped the floors, cleaned the window, cleaned the baseboards, etc...You get the picture. The apartment was spotless. The manager charged me $230 cleaning fee and $100 for paint touch ups. Did I mention that I never hung a picture, never leaned anything against a wall. There is no sense of community in this complex. The apartment next to me had approximately 4 different tenants while I was there for only 20 months. I would not recommend this complex. There is no airconditioning and in Sept 2020 we hit 106 degrees F. I believe the management overcharged me $330 from my deposit when I moved out, because they figured they can get away with it. There are other practices which lead me to believe they are less than trustworthy. The carpet in the only very small common area is completely worn out and would require only a very small investment to replace, but was not replaced in the 20 months I lived there. Perhaps this review will help the manager to understand that she cannot retain deposits without repercussions. Please don't rent here. Bottom line is they overcharge and underdeliver.

The apartment building absolutely smells putrid. It is poorly maintained and as previous reviews have stated the property management is abysmal. Tenants are treated with the same level of contempt as they treat the property. There are cheaper and better managed properties around.

Myself, wife and our Infant child lived in their studio apartment (593sqft) for 15 months and based on our experience, this apartment will be a perfect place if you are of the following type of person (READ ALL THE POINTS, I KNOW IT IS HUGE, YOU ARE DOING GOOD FOR YOURSELF BY READING ALL POINTS):A. Pre-Move in:1. Pay security deposit + Rent before moving -> Common practice in SF bayarea2. Application fee - $40 to $50 (dont remember) per adult living in the apt3. IMPORTANT - The pre move-in inspection will be done along with the property manager, which she will rush out to mark and sign everything as clean in the paper, actually it will be clean and in good shape; But the hack is, you will miss a lot to notice which will appear once you moved in actually!Be-aware, if you still decide after reading all my points, at-least, be careful to take your time in filling pre-move in statement.B. Living:1. You rent on-time (if you miss the 1st, you will be charged late fee ~$80 per day), but you MUST NOT live in the apartment (ie) you are the only person rented and travel mostly and just visit your house 2-3 days in a month2. You are the only person living in the apartment and don't bother about paying their overpriced rent3. You are the person who enjoys your neighbor private conversations or their blasting music through their very thin walls4. You are the one who enjoys the very nasty smell through the hallway5. You are the one who enjoys the strict property manager who implements each and every single word from the rule book and enjoys when she always inspects your patio (no objects like plants or drying racks in your patio)/apartment entry (you can't leave footwear anytime)/parking lot/dump yard and all your activities through their cameraMOVE-OUT:1. You are the person who happily paying double or triple your security deposit amount ($2000 to $3000) when you leave (if you leave before 1 year, you have to pay double than my case)2. You are the person who enjoys when your property manager tells the things are okay during pre-move out Inspection, but still charges you a lot which you will never imagine after your move out.3. You are the person who will not shock to see the overpriced charges for the Paint (they charged $1500 for painting the studio, if you live in 1BR or 2BR, double or triple the amount) and other such similar chargesFinally, Over my 15 months of stay, we noticed about 10-15 move outs, we wonder if this is the apartment or hotel room!If you decide to move in the apartment just because of good locality, FYI, there are many other good neighbor apartments in the same locality.Even you read all the above and if you feel you are the ideal tenant for their apartment, Good Luck and God Bless you. I guess, after you move out in few days/months, you will sit and write such a big comment when you move out the apartment, likewise I am doing now.

We applied (paid 70 in total) and got approved. Office is closed for viewing during new year so we scheduled viewing the first time slot available to confirm. But they told us it is unavailable the same day saying they don’t hold apartment during application period. So multiple people apply at the same time and whoever replies email faster gets it. It seems ridiculous to me. All other management won’t accept application if there is already one.

Very poor noise insulation in the windows and you hear from the roads all night. There's a 7-11 right opposite and large trucks come at night to deliver stuff very late in the night. The only way you can get good rest in the night is by wearing earplugs.

Overpriced chicken coop.Walls are paper thin, and it gets unbearably hot in summer. You cannot escape hearing what's going on in the corridors, next door, and your neighbours' bathrooms (just gross). The policy is very restrictive and the management overbearing.
