AVOID THIS BRANCH AT ALL COSTS FOR ANY SERVICES OTHER THAN A REGULAR CHECKUP.
(This is a delayed review for an experience that took place in Jan 2024. Conveniently, at the time this experience happened, this listing had disabled it's reviews and we could not write one).
As part of our yearly Banfield Pet Plan, we scheduled a dental cleaning with this branch months in advance. After turning up on time punctually at 7am, our dog was dropped off, and we heard nothing back for several hours. Not a single update, no text, no call.
On calling back multiple times, a member of the staff informed us that due to "another priority", our dog's dental cleaning was pushed from 8am to 1pm, and would be done and then she would be ready for us to pick up.
After being given instructions to not feed the dog for 12 hours, and then to have only been told about the delay after we called numerous times, our dog came home only at 6:30pm and had her first meal of the day.
Forget the amount that Banfield charges for yearly plans, this is BASIC Communication and it is BADLY lacked at this facility. We will not be returning to this branch, and will happily drive more than 10 miles to a more reliable outlet.

I called to get information about vaccinations for my newborn puppies and Angelina went above and beyond in giving me the necessary information to make sure they received the proper care. Spent about 20 minutes on the phone answering all my questions and was happy to do so! Will definitely be bringing the pup that I keep and his parents here from now on. Absolutely amazing service!!!

I’ve been coming to this location for almost 2 years and have had pretty good experiences so far. Two things I wanted to highlight are: 1. The doctors are very patient and thorough when explaining things over the phone and make sure to get my authorization before proceeding with any additional tests/procedures. I have had 10 min+ conversations with them on several occasions and I never feel rushed into making a decision. 2. Dr. Levy and the front desk staff went out of their way to help me get a substantial refund (which was unexpected). The front desk staff are always very nice and helpful in person and over the phone!

I wanted to review after waiting for a week. I have been with Banfield for 8 years now
. This is the worse experience so far .
I got my dog an appointment because he had bloody diarrhea after 5 hours off dropping him ofat the hospital someone called me saying he has abnormal range of pancreatis and they mentioned he has to be on IV fluids and long list of medications and asked if I’m okay with bill which costed up to more than what was initially discussed
I told them I would speak to the doctor in person , when we came to the hospital the doctor said the machine which was supposed to test was not working right and the test was inconclusive so they asked to us pay more to get additional testing and just concluded he has pancreatitis .
We were shocked on the absurdity of what was being said . How can anyone conclude without a working machine . Being polite we asked them to repeat or send to a different hospital since it was the end of the day they are like everything will be closed we can’t this that and were upselling tests and IV Fluids for the next few days .
Imagine my frustration . When we insisted on repeating the test they went back and said he doesn’t have pancreatitis and prescribed antibiotics. He was okay in a week. On top of it he got injured in the hospital. So much trauma for leaving him there . He had blood from his leg which was new I asked them about it the nurse argued it’s not but if you leave your dog for 5 hours wouldn’t an old wound dry up. He was bleeding all the way home . Attaching pictures . Also because he had diarrhea most of his legs had poop all overs the worst clinic. I’m never coming back here

Thought I left some context, but the photo was taken at 8:01 AM and there was no one in and the facility was not open. Was told to drop off our dog at 7:30 AM and had to wait an hour and a half for a staff member to arrive and open up.

"Extremely disappointed with Banfield Pet Hospital in Mountain View. My dog urgently needed his Simparica medication, but they didn't have it in stock and advised me to order through Chewy for faster delivery. However, the necessary approval from the vet at Banfield is delayed because she won't be in the office for a week. Now my dog is late on his medication, and their lack of prompt support is frustrating."

Sadly we feel fleeced. We switched from our vet in Palo Alto because we felt overcharged and Banfield said their costs for a simple blood test were lower. Once we brought our cat in, they started the selling technique. Because my husband brought our cat in, they convinced him to buy a year plan for $1000.00. They failed to write down that our cat needs thyroid medicine (which was on her chart from he other vet). I just called them to ask if they could put a prescription into Costco and they said the medication was not in her files?!? Really, that's what we originally brought our cat in for is a thyroid check. The staff answering the phone, Garrett, seemed put out and indignant when I asked if we could get them to contact Costco to put in the prescription. They added more meds that are cat does not seem to need as well.I am super upset about being roped into this wellness plan and would love to talk to someone in corporate.

Total scam. Appointments are weeks out even if your pet is having a medical emergency. (example - my dog was urinated blood and the soonest they could see her was three weeks later...uhhhh, no). When you do get care from a vet, you are rushed in and out and nickel and dime'd. There are better places to take your pet staffed by people and organizations that actually care about the well being of your beloved pet. Disgusted.

Staff is usually helpful and friendly. Veterinarian seems kind of rushed but seems to care about the patients. Scheduling can be a bit of a pain and expect to wait when checking in or picking up.
