I've never felt more scammed in my life. Took my Subaru in for what I thought might be an engine issue, the mechanic then proceeded to tell me I had an oil pan leak, rod knock, needed a new fuel pump, new upper upper control arms, he even said that I would be better off replacing/selling the car! Also the mechanic accused me of using bad gas from filling up at Costco, contrary to that statement, Costco sells Top Tier gas, which is what I use and have used for 5+ years with no issue.
Before my cross country road trip I did end up taking it to another shop for a second opinion, mechanic inspected the issues that Auto Headquarters said and laughed at the long list of unnecessary repairs. Said there was no oil pan leak and no oil around the drain plug, the control arm boots looked worn but not urgently needing replacement.
I had a cross country drive coming up, and the mechanic at Auto Headquarters said it probably wouldn't make the journey. . Paranoid that my car would fail on the journey home I took it in for a 3rd opinion. They said that all of the work that Auto Headquarter recommended was absurd. Well here I am back in California after driving 4,000+ miles, no engine issues, no oil leaking, control arms are still in tack and working condition. I waited to post this review until I returned home, just to make sure.
Ultimately I recommend taking your car elsewhere, as these are not trustworthy or honest mechanics.

I've been taking my Subaru Outback to Kevin since I first bought it new, and every visit has been great. He’s always detailed in his work, offering advice on things like preventing undercarriage rust and ways to make the car last longer. Kevin is thorough, makes sure to explain what he’ll be doing before starting any service or repairs, and keeps you informed if anything unexpected comes up. I trust that my car is well taken care of with him, and that his pricing is fair. Absolutely recommended!

Been bringing my Subaru here since the extended service package I bought with the car got over. Have had an excellent, hassle-free experience every time. Kevin and Vincent are very thorough, take the time to explain the work they’re going to do as part of the service or repair, inform and discuss with you if anything unexpected is found, and complete the work as promised. Feel very confident that the car is in good hands with them. Thank you both!

I’ve been Kevin’s customer for almost 5 years already and should say he knows everything about cars. I have had two cars serviced here and Kevin’s team keeps them both in great condition. It’s so priceless to have someone you can trust. Highly recommended as these guys work for long term relationships!

Now that I am relocating, I do not feel as guilty from my greed of not wanting to share this hidden secret. The work is not cheap, but you will get what you pay for. They will work on most anything from JDM to European. The team members are all car or driver enthusiast people. Need I say more?

I had an excellent experience at Auto Headquarter. I was urgently looking for a place to get my headlights fixed. Although they were actually closed when I arrived the technician offered to assist me. The work was done quickly and professionally and eased my worries about getting back on the road. The worker was also very friendly and knowledgeable. They checked my oil, refilled it with a higher quality oil, and answered all of my questions in a clear and easy to understand manner. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs auto repair work done.

Kevin and Vincent amazing / honest people. First time took my car here for parts install. I have a Subaru that needed exhaust, mud flaps installed. I also had them remove my hitch. They did amazing job installing my parts and I can't be any happier with the pricing too. Very honest / passionate about their job. Definitely recommend Auto Headquarters to anyone who has Subaru and wants regular maintenance/ parts installed. I am super happy to have such a amazing shop near me. Thank you guys!

I had my Subaru Forester's engine rebuilt here. The work was astonishing. As the work progressed, Kevin sent photo of the state of the engine. The work was meticulous. Kevin is a perfectionist and kept me informed about the time-line. The engine was rebuilt quickly. When it was done, it was clean, quiet, smooth and quick off the mark. It drove as well or better than when I bought it. This shop is in a class of its own.
