I recently had a disappointing experience during my stay at Hotel Avisa that I feel compelled to share. My visit began with a less-than-ideal check-in process that set the tone for the rest of my stay. I had specifically inquired at the front desk if the room I was assigned would have a view of the iconic Morro Rock. The employee casually responded, "Yes, I think so," which left me with some uncertainty.Upon reaching my room, I was dismayed to find that it did not, in fact, offer the promised view of Morro Rock; instead, it overlooked a garage. Feeling somewhat misled, I promptly called the front desk to voice my concern. The hotel staff member on the other end of the line suggested that I could switch to a room with the desired view, but failed to mention any additional fees associated with this change.Eager to enjoy the promised vista for the sake of my elderly parents who had already entered the room, I agreed to pay the extra charges. It was only when I visited the front desk to pick up my new room keys that I was informed of the additional cost, which, to my astonishment, was $37, not the $10 previously mentioned. I felt deceived and taken advantage of, with no recourse for a resolution in sight.Despite the substantial discrepancy in the quoted price, I was not allowed to stay in the newly allocated room without further payment. Reluctantly, I agreed to move back to my original room facing the garage, holding onto the hope of receiving a refund. This experience was especially disheartening as I had already endured a long day of travel, and the ordeal left me feeling immensely stressed.Upon moving my parents to the new room, I discovered that the shower was broken, compounding the disappointments of my stay. It seemed as though there was a cascade of issues that were progressively revealing themselves. While I did eventually receive a refund for the overcharged amount the following day, the whole situation was far from pleasant, and the stress it caused was unnecessary. My overall impression of Hotel Avisa is far from positive, and I cannot recommend it to others. If you do choose to stay here, I strongly advise clear communication with the staff and a thorough review of your receipts, as they appear to be prone to deceptive practices.

This hotel is in a perfect location to walk the 2 blocks to the downtown area of Morro Bay. The view from our room of the bay and rock was perfect. Hotel was clean and room was a nice size with a patio door and small balcony.

Cute and clean rooms. No complaints. However I believe the room we stayed in was haunted. Weird noises and strange “music” all throughout the night happened and one of the lights kept turning on and off on its own. Other than that it was a nice hotel.

WiFi is on and off. Staff will not let you use the lobby restroom in the case that your room’s restroom is occupied. There are many hotels adjacent and I’m sure some have better hospitality.

Clean and comfortable. But not the same as when it was Comfort. Will be looking for another option in Morro.

Like slapping makeup on a pig. Terrible. Where do I start? The smell? The rooms smell awful of mold, their "remodel" is lazy work. Leaving unpatched holes in the walls and stains on the floors. My favorite part was the housecleaning woman who opened my door while I was changing at 10am this morning. I even had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. No knock, no house keeping call, just opened my door. I was appalled as I stood in my room with no shirt on and the house cleaner LAUGHED. No apology, just laughed. I understand and can speak Spanish as well, so hearing them outside my door laughing about the situation was also lovely. If it had been my child exposed, I would have been extremely upset.

I have never in my entire life stay at a hotel like this we stayed two nights for $459.00. This place is a dump. The staff is very rude. The iron didn't work the phone didn't work the towels were dirty. The hotel itself is not clean it all. When I called the front Dess to advises of the problems that were happening. The lady at the front desk was very rude. She hung up on me twice. This is not a hotel I would recommend anyone to stay. When I didn't get the phone to work to call the front Dess she answered the phone. Hello I asked is this the hotel? Wow overall terrible stay....

If you're looking for a place to unwind and relax you should consider staying here. Hotel Avisa is small and perfect for a quiet getaway. It was recently remodeled and is well maintained. We enjoyed our room with the balcony facing Morro Bay and the Rock. It's within easy walk of the waterfront which has several good restaurants and shops. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great place to slow down from a hectic lifestyle... only danger is that it may be too slow for some people. So be warned...

We booked for the most expensive room (ocean view) but so disappointed that the shower doesn't have any pressure, the toilet is not clean very well, the telephone is not working and the TV remote is not properly working too. Also, there is no coffee shop at the lobby. Will never go back to this hotel again. Most of all, the ladies at the front desk are not friendly and courteous at all.

Would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Morrow Bay. Very friendly service, rooms are just fine for a stay of a few nights, and the location is centralized to offer walking distances to most places you would go to within the Bay area.

I stayed this hotel for the last day of my birthday trip. The hotel staff was very friendly, the room and bathroom were so clean with cute arts, and was at great location. The view from the hotel was beautiful so I hope they could notice that the day was actual my birthday and grade up to the ocean view room ;)

Everthing was good until we asked at the front desk for a late checkout. Place was nowhere near full and we were denied, not a good move. Hotel is at south end of tourist area, one block off main street, pretty good location.

Sparkling clean from the lobby to our room and the breakfast room. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Very comfy bed. Our room had been upgraded to ocean view at no charge because it wasn't a busy weekend. So close to the beach!UPDATE: First time staying here since it changed from Comfort Inn to Avisa. Rooms have been upgraded, new carpet, bath fixtures and furniture. I thought it was fine before. Tubs replaced with shower only, except in double queen rooms. No microwaves, no breakfast. Kind of a deal breaker. It's ok, walk to the beach. I'm sad, because it was my favorite hotel. We won't stay again.
