If I could give zero or negative stars for their drive up experience I would. This would be probably the tenth time I have missing items from my order. I have left feedback via the app and nothing changes. I think to myself, there is no way they could mess up again and then it happens. This is not the employees fault. This comes down to management. Managers- fix your system and improve this process. It is a disservice to your employees and customers when you have not improved or shown leadership in how your drive up operation is ran. You need to train your employees and there are clearly holes in how this process is ran so I urge you to do your job and fix it. I feel terrible for employees that have to work under your “leadership”. I have asked for the manager to call me so that I can express my frustrations and offer my constructive criticism so that their drive up may be improved upon for the community. No one has called me. Vickie, call me.

Nice big supermarket. Has everything you need. In terms of taste, rolls are very close to those from Germany. If you're looking for something like that, you've come to the right place. Large parking lot available. Otherwise, the supermarket is in a pretty good location and can also be easily reached on foot.

They have a terrible problem of expired perishable items still being on the shelves. This is an ongoing issue. No matter how hard I try to check every single item, I end up getting duped by something. And it's badly expired, like sometimes 1-2 weeks! Shelf stockers put the new items right in front of the old! I've seen it time and time again here, and that's literally shelf-stocking 101 to NEVER do that. I usually don't waste my time coming back with expired items, but it happens here so often that I've started at least trying to get a replacement. What a waste of time and money! Too bad this is the closest store to my house.
Additionally, I've gotten several items that clearly were not properly refrigerated/ frozen. (Ex: ice cream that had melted and then been re-frozen! This has happened to us multiple times! As in at least once a month!) I'm not sure if this is a malfunctioning/ broken refrigerator and/or freezer, or if the problem lies within the speed of stocking the items? i.e. maybe they are being left out for long periods of time while awaiting being placed in their proper place in a refrigerator or freezer on the sales floor? Any time I've tried to bring these issues to someone's attention, the staff is mostly unfriendly, although not necessarily rude, except for 2 good cashiers. But these poor lone employees can't make up for what seems to be an entire team issue. I usually just do self check out for this reason.
Update: I still have to check every single perishable item before I get it here (I never did that at other stores my entire life before shopping here, and rarely had an issue) but honestly it does seem to have improved. I still see the issue with yogurt, but not as much with the milk and OJ. The fact that I don't have to push expired items out of the way to get fresh items, is so appreciated ? No one in my family will buy ice cream here anymore after the amount of times we had issues with it, so I'm not sure if that problem has been remedied. Hopefully, people aren't getting sick from that. We always just threw it away if it was clearly melted and refrozen, not willing to take any chances. (FYI if your ice cream looks like it has lost the air in it, or is smaller than the container when you first open it (like it has shrunk away from the sides) or seems to have one consistency in the middle and appears almost a thinner consistency towards the outside, then it likely melted at some point and is not safe to eat. You can get food poisoning according to my ER nurse MIL. Hope this helps someone not get sick!)

The store I go to where I bag my own groceries and the girl(Krystal) hands me a receipt and says " here you go".
No thank you or any mention of gratitude.
What a strange environment or culture they have created at this store.

Compared to my Colorado mountain town Safeway this Albertsons at Morro Bay is absolutely fantastic. I saw the poor reviews and avoided this store the first day of our stay but it was the best Grocery Store in Morro Bay. Wished we stopped here first. Well stocked and many more options than Safeway.

I forgot to order a cake for my husband’s 64th birthday. He has a specific request that his mom used to make for him as a child - yellow lemon custard with chocolate frosting. Erica in the bakery section offered to make the cake on the spot for me!! Thank you, Erica, as that was sooo unexpected and you have made my husband’s birthday extra special ❣️

The cashier (Jacinta R) that served me today was dishonest and cunning - I only bought 1 item - 10 shallots, she counted and asked if I bought 11; I told her 10 and even counted the 10 shallots for her to see BUT she still charged me for 11 and then gave me the wrong change ($0.50 less). I was in a hurry and didn't check the receipt or change. So in total I was cheated $1 this time. Very cunning lady coz I was expecting $15 dollars change not $14 and becoz she charged me for 11 shallots, she gave me $1 less and if I didn't check the change and receipt, I wouldn't have noticed it and she can pocket the $0.50. So to all shoppers, make sure you check your receipt and change when you use the cashiers.

The meat department is amazing at the Morro Bay location!! Shawn P., Cypress, and Mike provide stellar customer service! Cypress went out of his way to let me know an item my family likes, was on special one day! Shawn helped me go out of my comfort zone (cooking red meat successfully) and even told me how to prepare it and my kids were so impressed that they asked me to "make that steak again soon." A+ guys!!!!

Definitely had to share my thoughts on this particular location. I’ve been shopping at Albertsons for years and the Morro Bay store is amazing! Exceptionally clean, well organized and huge selection.Most impressive is their staff, specifically Tara, she’s always willing and eager to help and is very knowledgeable. I make a point of heading to her line if she’s at the register, she’s super fast and offers additional items to go with mine, that I have often forgotten to grab.If you’re in the area, make this your one stop shop for basically anything, and be sure to ask for Tara to experience the best customer service ever!!

Several issues need to be addressed: the Albertsons app doesnt work if I am using the Wifi and the checker told me this is a common problem so turn off the wifi. Someone needs to update this app. Also expiration dates on the app coupons need updating...coupons cannot be used and new dates are not always there.Checkers and baggers...please talk with these staff about carrying on conversations when a long line is waiting. The young baggers need more supervision...they are incredibly slow and the checkers often jump in to speed up bagging. Then several checkers are oblivious to the long line and are chatting and acting like they are are at a picnic rather that at a job.Last, Ive had green potatoes more than once that are uneatable, strawberries that are rubbery, half green, and not ripe ( and should not be sold at all), and stale items like pretzels or crackers...my fault for not checking the expiration date. Yet my grocery bill has more than doubled. Looking at small local markets for my groceries instead.
