Our kids went to Oakwood until high school, when they chose a bigger school. Fair enough. Oakwood was fantastic: nurturing, caring, scholastically challenging, and a FAMILY. Every time I drive past on Monterey, I smile. Nothing but love and thanks. You're lucky if you're there.

As a parent with a child attending the lower school at Oakwood, I can confidently say that this school is exceptional in every way. From the highly qualified and dedicated teachers to the culture of inclusion and friendship, this school has exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The teachers at this school are outstanding. They are not only knowledgeable and experienced, but also truly care about the well-being and success of their students. They go above and beyond to ensure that each child is given the attention and support they need to succeed. And let's not forget about PE! My child absolutely loves PE and talks about it almost every day. The school has an amazing PE program and teacher that has my child excited for school everyday. I had intended for my child to miss morning classes for a dentist appointment which led to my child begging me to reschedule because they did not want to miss PE!Overall, I cannot recommend this school highly enough. It's a fantastic place for children to learn, grow, and thrive. The teachers are exceptional, the culture of inclusion and friendship is inspiring, and the enrichment programs are outstanding. My child loves going to school every day, and I'm grateful for the wonderful education they are receiving here.

My son has been a student at Oakwood for the past 7.5 years, and it continues to be the best decision we ever made. Oakwood is an extraordinary school that boasts not only strong academics but also inclusive, well-rounded extracurricular offerings. Oakwood teachers are incredible and are at the heart of what makes an Oakwood education so fantastic. They invest in their students in a way that nurtures growth, provides a foundation for excellence, and encourages students to challenge themselves. As a result, Oakwood yields some of the most articulate, thoughtful, insightful, and engaged students you will find anywhere. If you are looking for an incredible and rich educational experience for your child/ren, I encourage you to tour Oakwood. You will see and feel the difference immediately.

We have two kids who have been students at Oakwood-a current college Sophomore and a high school Freshman. The faculty and staff at Oakwood are very kind and responsive to our questions and care about our kids both as students and people. Our kids have thrived at Oakwood with the small class sizes, high academic expectations, and the overall support. There is a feeling of calm and peace on the beautiful Oakwood campus, which paired with amazing faculty and staff, contributes to a wonderful and safe learning environment for our kids.

Both of my kids attend this school (oldest on his 3rd year, youngest on her 2nd year). They love school! When I come to pick them up it's always "mommy, can we stay longer?" They truly enjoy their classes. The homework is not "busy work" but seems to truly reinforce key concepts. The teachers look very happy and appear to love teaching. The teachers have always been flexible with parent-teacher conference meetings, which is important as a working mom. I appreciate having the middle and high schools on the same campus. My kids love seeing the high school plays and sport events. There is a real sense of community.

Last year season, 2021 -2022 kindergarten ,room 25 ,teacher Mrs. Perez and Lower School precibal Mrs. Christine was unacceptably were very bad and unprofessional ,unfair to my little boy and to me as parent. I really ,sincerely and honestly think that ,this 2 person should take psychology test and training and personnel communication ,plus child education training again , i don't know if they ever revalued them self .I don't think so .In the morning or anytime something happening at school area, you can hear Mrs Christine voice ,showing off herself, and everyone to be noticed that she is here and acting like she is great ,doing her job best she can .But nobody knows her other side ,abuser/liar, disrespectful and more .As a parent I am still carrying drama from her.Mrs. Perez is completely weird .Way he stands up her classroom front door ,blocks door with her feet ,controls unprofessional way ,and she cant stop talking to individual some parents about her personal life ,or something else ,has nothing to the with class or children ,and for us as parent have to wait for her to finishes her nonsenses talking for us to drop our kids to classroom is nightmare .And for he to scream at 5 years boy saying like" get the hell out from my classroom " Mrs. Perez you need to get to hell out from educational job ,you are in ,plus you have your own little beautiful boy, This is how you teaching your own kid !!!!!) This was our experience at Oakwood Private $$$$$ school , we paying to get Pain. Does it make sense.

I really like this school my son is 15 years old he does not Attend here but he does play AAU basketball for the summer league. The basketball courts are very nice and they do maintain their gym. This is has to be one of the best gyms I have ever seen good job who ever manages this school.

The education and many of the teachers are of high quality. Be aware there are politics going on and bullying that is not handled appropriately. Unfortunately it can get in the way of the children getting an education. The school has some strong clicks within that do not foster inclusiveness. Some of the teachers do weave in their strong political positions as well without discussions on other viewpoints, tends to create some the toxic environment that exists.

Our daughter has gone to this school since Kindergarten and there is no place else she (or we) would want to be. The teachers are best-in-class, the environment encourages growth and the students feel like family. Best of all, the balance of academics and enrichment programs is something you just don't see in schools around the bay area.

We are so happy to be a part of the Oakwood Family! The staff is fabulous and extremely helpful. We love the communication between school and home. I highly recommend Oakwood to all of our friends and family and anyone who is looking for a fabulous education and caring environment for their children. ❤️

The elementary school has been exemplary for our family. The ECE and middle school were not. Sadly, I have had to lower my rating. The administration here will not work with you if there is an issue. They do not want you to call out any problems and are quick to shift blame to parents or students (even preschoolers!) instead. There is a frustrating amount of blame the victim mentality here. There are many wonderful teachers here. It's too bad there are also so many roadblocks to learning.

You may think I'm biased and you're right! I have 3 boys at Oakwood and my 11th grader has been there since the age of 3 when he started preschool. We've had some absolutely AMAZING teachers over the years that have taught my boys academics, life lessons, built up their character, given them confidence and helped shape them into the three wonderful boys they are.You can read about Oakwood's academic scores, student successes and athletic accomplishments in newspapers and reports but you'll never understand the "family" atmosphere until you are there. At Oakwood, we are a family. Teachers and administration all know your child- their strengths, weaknesses, and individual personalities. But even more endearing is the relationships among the students. They are each others friends. They are little brothers and sisters to the upper class men and big brothers and sisters to the younger students. My favorite thing of all is that I know my boys are looked out for. Their grades will never slip without being noticed, their classmates will look out for them and they will be recognized for their accomplishments by the tight knit parent community. My boys have had the option to go somewhere else but have decided to stay all these years- intelligent boys making a very intelligent decision!
