I like the gym and they have good equipment like other big name gyms. My only complaint are the youngsters who sit on the most popular machines and stare at their phones for 20 mins. If you go to the gym to stare at your phone, you have no life. Crowded like any other gym at 5 pm. You’ll never escape that. Good cardio section. I don’t go to the gym to use the restrooms, so no complaints there. Clean workout area.

My wife & I have been a member here for almost a year now. I have an all gym membership and I just recently noticed that the other two Fitness 19 locations in San Jose/Campbell have changed to Vim + Vigor Fitness. So now the next closest Fitness 19 to me is Fremont. I got the all club membership cause I work both in San Jose and in Morgan Hill and I go to both gyms. Now I can only go to Morgan Hill cause it's the only Fitness 19 for miles. My biggest concern is the fear that the Morgan Hill location changes also and that would make my membership obsolete.I've been lifting weights since the 90s and have been members at 24hr Nautilus/Fitness, Bally's, Gold's Gym, American Barbell. This location is probably the smallest gym I have been a member of. There's a enough equipment to get the job done, and they have added more since I have been a member. I tend to avoid peak hours so to me it doesn't seem that busy. The gym is pretty clean and weights tend to be pretty tidy. I rarely see weights that are missing or misplaced which is nice.I just hope that fitness 19 sticks around for a few years so I can get my money's worth.

The gym has everything I need to get a good workout. The only complaint I have is the showers at the West Covina location. The water pressure is low, the drains seem clogged and it would be nice to have soap dispensers

Abbie is a FANTASTIC trainer. Her lived experience, including injuries, informs her training style. She develops a workout plan that is individualized to your injuries, activity level, and personal goals. I highly recommend her as a trainer, it is never time or money (or sweat!) wasted.

Rating dropped from 5 to 4 because the men's shower is filthy. Soap scum galore. Nice facility, but with lots of members, they undoubtedly generate lots of dues revenue, meaning they should have a sufficient cleaning and maintenance budget to keep all areas of the club sparkling, not just the cardio equipment.

Staff pretends to be friendly, class instructors are amazing! The place is extremely crowded and small and has very limited operational hours over the weekend or days that are near a holiday but not holidays. Super dirty as well, the bathrooms and showers always need some attention. The class exercise room has had someone’s nasty nail clippings in a corner for over 3 months and I finally got rid of them before Christmas.

Disgustingly dirty! The showers are supposedly cleaned every night. The same hair, scum and band-aids are in the men's showers for days! The air conditioning vents are always clogged with dust from the roof top AC units which never seem to get maintained or cleaned! The downstairs men's handicapped shower is so gross! The walls are covered with oils and soap scum. No curtain, no drying anti skid mat to stand on. The floor is flat, so always wet from shower spray and dangerously slippery. The handicapped shower bench in the men's handicapped shower has been broken for over a year! Management says it's on the list to repair, but it NEVER happens! This is a violation of the ADA law! (American Disabilities Act) Young, able, not handicapped (except mentally) male members use the downstairs single stall handicap shower instead of going upstairs to the 8 showers available because they are too lazy to walk upstairs. The downstairs men's handicapped shower and 3 of of the 12 lockers are supposed to be reserved by law (ADA) (American Disabilities Act) for handicapped and elderly members only! These selfish tools, use the handicapped designated lockers and even remove the handicapped stickers (illegal) so they can use their favorite locker as if they are entitled to do so! Get a clue! Go upstairs! Restricted handicap area usage signage and enforcement does not exist! Management is rarely present, especially on weekends, and even if in house, does not really care about anything but signing up new members. Most of the employees are kids who could care less about providing any customer service. Most hang around at the front desk on their phones or make derogatory comments about members as the come in the front door! Management is more interested in signing new members than taking care of the facility and existing members. In my opinion, this is one of, if not the worst, gym in Santa Clara County. It used to be 24 Hr Fitness which filed chapter 11 bankruptcy during Covid. I believe it's the same owners doing the same sloppy business, under a new name as "Fitness 19". Very sad indeed, as it is 1 of only 2 gyms in town. Morgan Hills' population is growing very rapidly and it needs a great gym! This is NOT it! But it could be, only if.......

Update: the previous review was written as a favor for Mikayla during an employee contest. Since it was written, Mikayla has left and I have found that this location has a high turnover rate of trainers and managers. This company is as predatory as other gyms, with their primarily pushed training agreement being one that has recurring weekly charges. If you miss a week, you are still charged and it is “accumulated” but is not used until you cancel your agreement or if a year has passed, which it is then considered expired and you have wasted the money charged. Rather than using the accumulated credit, it uses the charge for that same week. These are also nonrefundable and you will be charged for another month after you cancel the agreement. Staff (who have since been fired or quit) also did not listen or make note when I expressed wanting to switch from the recurring payment to per sessions. When cancelling your membership, they also make you jump through numerous hoops and make phone calls and emails. When I initially switched locations, they made it incredibly difficult (nearly impossible) to switch my training agreements over and I had to begin a new one instead, a solution thought of by a former, fired employee, who was actually highly knowledgable and caring of training. The annual renewal fee is also charged a month later than you would expect it, leading to much confusion that my former trainer acknowledged when I asked about the mystery charge. They also do not communicate well that should you miss a week due to your trainer being unavailable, you can meet with a different one, however, with the high turnover rate, it can be hard to build and maintain rapport with them (within a year and a half, I have had 4 trainers). They tout their trainers all having certifications and some going to school for “this,” as it was phrased to me, but this doesn’t equate to qualified in all situations nor do they explain what certifications are held. It took me reaching out to request 4 different trainers (the first two had or were putting in 2 weeks notice soon and the third didn’t work with my schedule) and often had to call back multiple times when told they would reach out to me. Overall, if you want a cheap gym, go for it, but be aware of their predatory nature and their personal training program.I’ve been coming to this location for about 5 months and have been getting trained by Makayla for 4 of those. She is so so sweet and plans great workouts for me. She’s one of the best trainers there! Only thing I would change about this location is adding some more equipment like trap bars and sleds

no where I can put my longboard, bike rack is out of the view of front desk, cancelation contract that prevents you from canceling under a year is what brought be to not recommend this gym and go somewhere farther with my car

Very reasonably priced and lots of great equipment. Plenty of squat racks, a grassy turf area, pullup bars, lots of cardio equipment, and even a sauna and showers.

I wish they have more than one Dip Station. But overall the gym is great!
