Brought in a 1954 Austin Healey BN-1, had dents in the front, rust in the doors and rust in the undercarriage. It needed repairs, plus a paint job. Bobby's work is superb. The whole group there are totally reliable. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality at its' best and people you can trust. They completed the job before time and everything went smoothly, plus the costs were less than expected!!! So glad we found them.

I don't have enough words to express how wonderful Bobby is. I brought my 55 T-Bird to him that was not running and had electrical problems as well. Bobby found all the issues with my car and fixed everything and now has it running beautifully. Bobby is the nicest, most honest and capable man, he knows his stuff! He is so communicative with all work needing to be done and the progress of the car while there. Backalley Restorations is a find, I'd give them 10 stars if possible!

If you want a good job that is done honestly and with integrity, then this is the shop to bring your project to. Mine started in the summer of 2018, first as just a simple paint job and reassembly. Being in the automotive business I am well aware of how projects like this can get out of control, and it was just one more if you do this you need to do that scenario on my part. But the best part about Dave and Bobby they will give their honest opinion of the direction you are going and if it is worth it. You also can't be in a hurry because at the end of the day they are creating art and that takes time, so you have to be patient. When covid hit in 2020 like everyone else they had to shut down and lost employees. Replacing employees in a custom shop is difficult because not just anyone can do the job. So, after some time they were able to get back to my project, and get it finished around summer of 2022. Part of the issue was getting parts for my car which were not easy to do and even worse after covid. I finally got the car (since I live in another state) and it was a flawless paint job (it turned into a rotisserie paint job), and everything seemed great. Not long after, I started having issues with the motor rebuild, so Bobby flew out to my house, and we worked on it for the day. After we were done Dave and Bobby determined that they needed to get the car back, so they had it picked up and they pulled the motor sent it to another rebuilder, reinstalled it, and tested for about 200 miles. They also took care of a few minor little details and shipped it back to me standing behind their work and everything is going great with the car now. What impressed me the most is their commitment to make sure the job was done right, and the customer was happy. Any project I have in the future that requires a custom shop they have my business hands down.

I’ve used back alley on a few different projects, including paintwork on a 62 T-Bird and a big electrical and mechanical job on a Triumph Spitfire. They did excellent work in both cases, are easy to work with and honest. They run a shop with integrity and Terri in the front office is awesome.

I called Dave on a Sunday and he picket up the phone, I would be open to take my classic car to him just because he loves what he does. A collector himself, when I was looking for a hard to find filler hose for my 56 desoto tank he took the time to give me phone numbers he looked up for me with several choices to pick from, Thank you Dave, and always ask alot of questions before leaving your vehicle with an expert specially a classic car for restoration, get an estimate bill and prior opinions before handing over your wallet because classic cars are deep pocket lovers without a pre-nup and no marriage vows to protect the dreamer...God bless all who take the time to help another...and thank you Dave. Good talking to you, have a blessed live.Angeltompkins, Golden Globe Nominee with cars.

I write this even after threat of being sued. I took my 66 corvette in for some electrical and to have my newly rebuilt motor turned and timed. They tried to get motor running properly and after spending around $2000 on just the motor I was told they did everything they could but could not get it running as it would continue to run after shut off (dieseling) and would not produce enough vacuum to run power brakes they didnt put all parts on motor as I was told it might have to be pulled. I took car to a local guy here in valencia recommended by several classic car owners I wanted a second opinion before pulling motor.Well two days later car was returned running great. I tried to work out a compromise with the owner Dave who refused to work wit me and threatened to sue me if I wrote a poor review but i still had to do this so other classic car owners wouldn't have to go thru what i did.

On a scale of 1-5 stars, Backalley Restorations earns 11 stars in my book. I inherited a 1929 Model A from my dad, which although fully restored, was not running. After searching for a mechanic willing to work on it for awhile to no avail, my wife happened upon Backalley Restorations. Yes, they had the Model A running in no time. But that was only the beginning. I had never driven the car before and when I was driving the back to where I store the car, anti-freeze began to spray out of the radiator cap and onto the windshield. I pulled over and called them wondering if I should bring the car back so they could fix the leak (this was not a part of the car they had worked on). Bobby said he would come to where I was, in order to help me to get where I was going. He explained to me that Model A's do not have a closed radiator system like new cars so they do spray on occasion. He brought a container of water and wiped down the sprayed anti-freeze off the paint and windshield, and then followed me the rest of the way to storage. Bobby then gave me a ride back to his shop where my everyday car was parked. During the ride I told him about how the hydraulic pump went out on my car which controls the convertible roof and trunk, and because the manufacturer discontinued the part that I was having trouble finding a new one. Later that evening Bobby texted me a link to a company that rebuilds the pump I need. He did this completely on his own and out of the blue. I just order that part, so my everyday car will be back like new soon too.
