If you like art or if your kid likes to do art, this is a good place to go or to send your kids to after school.

Excellent resource for young artists to hone their craft and experiment with new mediums. The staff is warm, positive, and encouraging, always offering their unique artistic expertise. But also allowing each artist the space to try new things without expectation. Best way for young artists to dip their toes in the local art scene. Highly recommend!

YAC is one if the most amazing places in the world. I was 14 when I started at YAC and I met the best friends of my life there. Meg and Marcia supported me not just with my art, but in my education and my personal life. YAC was a safe place for me to learn about myself and to grow. I was able to explore mediums that would not have been available to me otherwise and was one of the greatest art opportunities I could ask for. I am blessed to be a YAC alumni and the place will always have my heart. YAC was the place that fostered my creativity and guided me into the path I am on today as a Social Worker and a local Monterey Artist. I Love You YACsters!!! (Then and now of my art 11 years in between)

The spring fund raiser was an excellent opportunity to see art by young people, and chill in the YAC people-friendly space. Always more to see and check out!

I went to YAC in high school and only have awesome memories from my times there. One of my favorites was drinking bottomless cups of tea and getting squirted with squirt guns for nodding off during our all night ART-a thon fundraiser!

This organization is a wonderful contribution to our community for the opportunity it offers local youth to express themselves with art and to improve their art, and discover new ways to expand their artistic talents. I'm very proud that it exists and I am very proud of my granddaughter, Eden, for her participation and her for beautiful pieces of art that are now displayed . I thank Andrew Jackson for his excellent guidance of young artists that he is working with there.

Is there any way to share events on Yelp? I know there used to be. Tonight is Summer Arts Opening and a chance to support our talented youth! It's on July 28 and by the time you read this it'll be too late. But do drop in ... They are open til 7 pm so when you're in the area, don't forget to stop in and have a look. Next to the parking garage on Calle Principal. I'm not affiliated with them, so don't worry Yelp. Just a community member who likes to support youth and the arts. I like my Ali portrait and am going to gift it but only to someone who would appreciate it.

Had the best time ever at their event! The artists were friendly and nice - I really enjoyed talking to them and learning about what motivates their art creativity - the artwork was awesome! Everyone was great! Will definitely go again A+++

I had the distinct honor of teaching a class in creative writing at Y.A.C. years ago, and I was enchanted from the moment I set foot in the door. The place oozes creativity and the students were receptive open to learning and eager to create. Rare is it that one comes upon such a gem of a establishment and I consider it a badge of honor to have had even the merest wisp of association with it. 5 stars for lack of the capacity to place more.

The art at YAC is incredible but the people who run the place are not very friendly. The counselors/ monitors are some of the most passive aggressive people I've ever met.
