Things I like about this place:
1. The reception staff was very very friendly and accommodating.
2. The hotel parking and lobby was very easy to find.
3. The room and toilet were exceptionally clean.
4. The hotel is just a short walk away from Cannary Row.
5. The seagulls were very friendly too.
Some downsides are:
1. Breakfast is not included. But there is an amazing cafe called The Wave Street Cafe right across the street.
2. It's pretty expensive, and parking requires an additional surcharge of 17 USD + tax.
3. The parking spot is pretty small, so it's best to drive a smaller car.

Great stay at the Wave Street Inn. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the complimentary sundries were welcome.
You can park till 4 next day for $20 and walkable to all the attractions and good restaurants.

Great location. Jennifer is the perfect person for the front desk. Fantastic experience.
Nearby activities: You are in the heart of Cannery Row. Walking everywhere is very easy.

Perfect location for everything we wanted to do. Had double queen bed room, which was fine for the three of us. Good shower and well sized bathroom. Nice advice on restaurants and laundry. Wish parking was just included.
We had someone above us who seemed to spend the whole night pacing heavily, which was annoying - so not brilliantly sound proofed. The fire pits and chairs are a nice feature, would be better with a view!!
For restaurants - Wave Street Cafe is a must, Sea Harvest too and Hula’s. All great food and a hop, skip and jump from the Inn!

I had purchased close to $100 worth of snacks and beverages that needed to be refrigerated for my two children, my significant other and myself, the refrigerator wasn't working, so I called the front desk and they sent someone to fix it, the individual said that he fixed it and in the morning when we woke up, the refrigerator wasn't working and the majority of the food and beverages that was purchased had either spoiled and or wasn't fresh anymore. The beds were not very comfortable, and we didn't sleep very well. When taking a shower, the soap that I use all the time at home didn't rinse off well and left a slimy film on my skin and my son’s skin and we both have sensitive skin and it left us scratching all day. When addressing these issues when checking out, staff responded to my complaints with bewilderment, like the issues couldn't be possible and no one has ever had a problem with these issues and that they apologize for any inconveniences and that they will address them with management. At that point, I didn't care who it was addressed to, my money had already been spent on the room and an overnight trip from Bakersfield for my son's birthday to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and beach had just been soured by a real unsatisfactory stay at this hotel. They sent me an email survey regarding my experience, and I conveyed it clearly and they did not respond, which didn’t shock me, because they got my money and didn’t care if what I paid for wasn’t satisfactory. Bad business and a waste of my time and money. Would never go back there and don’t recommend anyone else going there either.

We stayed here for a three day weekend. The best part of the inn was the location. It's an easy walk to Cannery Row and the aquarium.
The staff were nice and friendly. Overall it was a great place to stay with updated modern rooms. We also loved the fire pits.
However, we did have one issue. After taking showers one evening our bathtub backed up from the drain. We plugged it and it stopped it for awhile until it started coming out of the overflow.
I dialed 0 in the middle of the night to let them know what was going on and the guy who answered had no solution. He didn't even attempt to call anyone or offer to let us switch rooms. We just had to hope it didn't overflow while we were sleeping.
By the time morning rolled around the tub was almost overflowing. Thankfully we were checking out that day. The front desk staff did give us a discount, but it sounded like this was an ongoing problem with two rooms. So I just think if it is, why have these rooms available?
I understand that places have issues, but don't rent the rooms out until they are fixed.
Other than that the trip was great! I would stay here again just for the location alone, but make sure I request a different room number.

If it had a microwave in the room or anywhere in the hotel I would have given it 5 stars. Otherwise the location, room, and staff are all great for the price.

Location is fantastic. A short walk to aquarium, shops, restaurants, only a 10-15 walk along the water to the wharf/downtown. Room is as expected for an inn, but decor is modern. The issue is that it is an older inn so sound travels. We can hear footsteps above and they were quite loud. We live in a condo normally so we are understanding of sound travel but this was quite loud and I don't think they were stomping around. It is not a big issue (the noise was only in evenings and we were out most of the time) but best to know beforehand. This was a great place for first time visitors to Monterey and for families. Again, location is the best (there are other hotels nearby that are much more expensive). Parking is $17 a day.
Nearby activities: aquarium, shops, restaurants, we also tried the mirror maze which was fun
Safety: Safe to walk around.
Walkability: Location was fantastic. so close to aquarium and shops/restaurants

Stayed here on vacation and was pleasantly surprised with it. Not far from Bubba Gump and the aquarium. The hotel is a nice short walk, (up a slight upgrade hill) from cannery row, if you are young* (*young of heart) or a even a little in shape (I was a little out of breath but my boyfriend wasn’t.) Very close to all the restaurants and shops but don’t have to hear all the busyness from the main street. The room is clean and beautiful. We really enjoyed the ocean view as we got a cannery row room. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and had a super relaxing vibe (enjoyed her presence very much ((she needs a raise as she definitely sold me on the room speaking of her own experience with her husband<3))
Overall definitely recommend for people who are here to relax and have a nice time in Monterey.

Room 209 is not clean. The carpet are old and give off a moldy smell. The water pressure is very weak and the water has a rusty smell. Stay elsewhere.Rooms: Room 209 is not clean.
