They defaced a 100 year old skirt.
I gave them an antique skirt to clean, which had an ornament sewn onto the front and came that way from the vintage store from which I bought it. The ornament was irreplaceable and the skirt itself was over a hundred years old. I had been afraid to get it cleaned because of it's age and wore it for years on cold days where sweat was less likely to accumulate. My fears were immediately realized when they returned it to me with the ornament missing. They claimed to have taken it off for cleaning. I asked for them to put it back then two weeks later they told me they lost it. They did not apologize or offer reimbursement for me to find an authentic replacement. Instead they sewed on a tacky chain in it's place with a solid modern looking bar as the 'ornament'. When I said via text message that it was not acceptable they did not answer me again. I sent my partner to pick it up for me because I was too angry to possibly be civil with them.
If you are thinking of bringing your clothes here, this is my advice: 1) they don't do a great job with sweat stains on white clothes 2) do not give them anything you hold dear. I gave them several articles before my skirt to test their quality. Since the skirt was not white (my only complaint at the time) I thought it would be safe. If you have any clothes that are beloved, heirlooms, vintage, or antiques understand Vapor Cleaners does not care about ruining pieces and will not work with you once they have messed up.

Took military uniforms to get cleaned and pressed, also had patches moved from one jacket to another and it looks very good. The place was recommended to me by service members at the Presidio, Fort Ord, because the on base dry cleaners hasn't been running for a year, they only do alterations now. Since I needed both I went to Vapor. Reviews had me worried about alterations, as one soldier got back some less than stellar sewing, but mine came out well.

Excellent dry cleaning, not so good for sewing.
When it comes to dry cleaning, Vapor’s always does a very good job. Everything looks neat, pressed, and is finished quickly. Our dry cleaner on base has been shut down for about a year, so vapor has definitely helped us out a lot, especially for those of us who need to wear our service uniform often.
I recently got my military uniform sewn by vapor, (ranks, name tapes), and I’ll be honest, I was pretty disappointed. It wasn’t as neat as I wanted, and one of the patches was unfinished. I had to sew it on myself.
Vapor will definitely do a great job on dry cleaning. They’re quick, and will impress on that aspect. However, if you need ranks/name tapes sewn on, I’d recommend sticking with the PX.

Unfortunate experience with Vapor Cleaners this week. I spoke with Jasmine on Tuesday morning about having a few shirts pressed and starched for a last minute event. She assured me they’d be taken care of, even discussed the heavy starching process, only to arrive today and find the shirts were not starched. No time to correct the problem, no consideration for the inconvenience.

I went to this place to tailor my 2 pants, the tailor told me it’s gonna be $20 each ($40 total), even though it was double than what I could pay somewhere else, I said it’s fine, I will pay double for the location convenience. So when I went to pick up the pants, the cashier told me your total is $60 something, I told her the tailor told me right in front of you it will be $40, she said no your service is worth $60 something. She went to the back and then an old half bald white guy came with her (the owner), after I explained to him that I was not informed that it will be $60 and I don’t appreciate being charged triple of wha I could pay somewhere else and without even someone telling me that it will be $60 , he was very rude and loud telling me you have to pay $60 something, … and then angrily: “ what do you want now ? “ … you’re not gonna get your pants if you don’t pay $60 something ….I said bring me someone who works for you here, that told me that it will be $60 something and I will pay you that right away. Anybody.He said I don’t care, now I’m the one talking to you and the bill is $60 something. I said so imagine you take your car somewhere and they tell you it will be $2000 to fix it, and you agree because of the convenience. But when you go pick up your car and then the mechanic tells you you have to pay $3000 or he’ll Not give your car back. How would you feel ?He said : “ what do you want now ? Do you want your pants or do you want me to donate it to GoodWill or something ? ” ….. are you kidding me ??? Is this your customer service ??The cashiers apologised to me after he left, because nobody communicated to me that it will be $60 something. Finally he came outside when I was going back to my car and apologised, but it was too late cause I’m never going back again.

Truly the best around for dry cleaning! Unbeatable prices (after going to Klinke Cleaners for most of my human existence, I was SHOCKED by how much more affordable this place is) and truly sudden service. I needed 3 military dress pieces dry cleaned and starched/ironed with under 24 hours notice and Vapor absolutely delivered! Very friendly staff as well. I no longer fear needing to get pieces dry cleaned, this place is the bomb!
