The employees here are always friendly and accommodating. Even when it is busy, they provide a very untrusted experience. It is also located in a part of Monterey with a wonderful vibe for walking, coffee shops, etc. There is also usually plenty of street parking.

Paid for express usps with company in NJ @ 5 pm. $25, package arrived @ 11 am next morning flying across the states arriving in Fresno, AWSOME!However, following usps updates were vague and incorrect. Package sat in Fresno and San Jose all day, the next day and the next day. On the 3rd day it was shipped @1:00 am to Monterey. Package sat in Monterey for another day arriving at my address 3pm on the 4th day. Express; 2 days 7 days a week except holidays seems central ca usps does their own holidays when they want. Nobody to give an explanation and I have to call company and ask them to fill usps online application for refund……id give them a zero if I could

I don’t know why this place had bad reviews. All the staff who work here are the sweetest women ever. They have always gone above and beyond to help me with everything. They helped me ship packages, open a PO Box, receive packages, and find packages. They are all professional. I have honestly watched them have so much patience with rude customers. Best USPS I’ve been to and I sell a lot of clothes/shoes online so I went there a few times a week for about a year.

Great location!P.s. to the grouchy folks who complain about waiting in line... You will wait in line at UPS and FedEx too, and it will probably cost you at least 1.5x more than shipping through USPS.

This post office needs definite change within the administration system. I feel sorry that I need to write this review, but I don't have a choice. This is my way to, hopefully, help improve their service. I have had great experiences as a customer over many years with the employees helping customers in the front. I received the notification that a package arrived at the post office, I went the same day to retrieve it. I had the tracking # but the employees could not find it so one of them asked me for my phone # and said that the supervisor would call me the same day or the next day. Two days went by and no one called me. I went to the post office again, waited for 1 hour for the supervisor to be told that she has left for the day. I left work early the next day, and went again; waited for 40 minutes until an employee who is in "charge" of the packages in the back, told me that the package was lost. Today, 6 days after the package arrived to Harnell St. Post Office and 5 trips to talk to the supervisor and over 20 phone calls (no one ever answers the phone), "they are short of personnel" according to one person there; and all the rudeness and suggestions "that I had picked up the package already" The person in charge of the packages in the back, called me to tell me that a customer had the large locker's key in her mail box and returned to the front desk because the package did not belong to her. My suggestion the first day I went to pick-up my package was that it could be inside one of the large lockers, but I was told that it was impossible because my name was not in the "list" for the lockers. I had 2 incidents before with misplaced packages in the same post office.

My first time here and everything seemed great! The lady who helped me was all smiles and warm. She was also helpful when I asked her about passport renewal. She got the forms for me and gave me a brief instructions on what to do. There was a line but it moved pretty fast so I was in and out of the building in about 5 minutes.

They send my mail back telling people I moved, which is false. Then I try to call them to fix it and they don't even bother to answer the phone

Smells like URINE at the entrance. When I asked the postal worker if she would inform the supervisor/manager so they could hose down the area to clean it, she said, "there's nothing we can do about it. He (referring to a homeless man) sleeps out there." I am sorry but there is no need to have foul smelling urine greet you when you enter the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA POST OFFICE. This is absurd. Come on, Post Master, clean up your offices!!!

I came here to return my Amazon item. It supposed to be free, it says “USPS will pack, and label it for free”. But USPS worker (SUN) told me I had to pick packaging, pay for it and then bring it to her. Going to Whole foods now since I never had any issues there
