Jan at TreeHouse Mortgage gets five stars! She is experienced, knowledgeable, prompt, friendly, and super helpful. She guided us through each step of the complex, multi-step process needed to get pre-qualification letters (so we could make competitive offers on homes) and then, when one of our offers was accepted, to quickly and successfully close on the loan, so we could purchase the house. Throughout the process Jan answered our (incessant) questions and did everything she could to make our loan journey as smooth and stress-free as possible. Oh, and did I mention that she's just a really nice person, too? We've really enjoyed working with Jan!

Stefani was terrific handling all of the discussions pertaining to our regular loan and bridge loan experience. Their short video recordings to go over the loan document process was very valuable as trying to understand it on our own was sometimes difficult. She was available even during the holidays. My husband and I were complete novices to home buying, but Heidi and her team guided us each step of the way.Neither myself nor my husband grew up in homes where financial literacy was a thing. We had to learn through our own life experiences. On top that, I am a free spirited millennial to whom the idea of settling always felt deeply unsettling.But after moving here from NYC and living in Monterey for a year, circumstances aligned so that buying a home made sense. At the same time, we didn't have any prior knowledge of everything that home buying entailed. We didn't understand basic real estate concepts and terms. We felt nervous about making such a big decision and pouring our savings into a down payment (there was even a point when we thought about using it to get a house on wheels!) On top of that, we felt like we were looking for a unicorn. We needed a home that didn't require too many repairs, was close to the bike path in a central area, and made sense for our budget.Prices were high and rates increasing, even as the market was transitioning from a sellers market to a buyers market.Thankfully, with Heidi and Stefani's support, we found a home that we are thrilled with. Every time we had a question, they were answered. Every time we had a concern, they were tackled with empathy. Ever time we saw an obstacle, Heidi and her team worked with us to overcome it.Above all, the team puts your needs and desires before everything. The bonus is that Heidi is an educator. She wants to help you understand the numbers, the concepts, the trade offs and then empowers you to make the best decision for you. She even passed along her wisdom when it comes to financial literacy. Finally, Heidi and Stefani worked in close coordination with our realtor to get us the best possible outcome. In the end, we saved a boat load in closing costs and paid $100k less than we the initial asking price.We had a great team behind us. Stefani, her second in command, is also incredibly responsive and resourceful.You can't go wrong with Treehouse. I wouldn't chose anyone else.
