Came in to see if I could get my bag repaired. The clasp that fixes the straps to my bag had been lost somewhere along the journey. Unfortunately, my fine leather bag is a custom piece and that specific clasp wasn't available. I received a quote on what the work would cost to temporarily remove the lining, access the back of the clasps, Remove both, install new clasps, and reseal the lining. I was told about $75. Which I thought was an excellent deal. I inquired what I could do about bringing some of the sheen back to my beautiful leather and was pointed to a reasonably priced bottle of leather polish which I did buy. I took a look around the store. An incredible assortment of leather goods awaits you. I found a dream list item in a beautiful pair of black leather driving gloves that I am definitely coming back for. Everything was priced fairly and the quality of the craftsmanship was exquisite. I requested that some marble bags be made up for purchase and was told that they would be. I'm so excited for my future customer experiences at TLS. A great company with great people turning the gears. See you soon!

I flew into Monterey this morning and tore my satchel strap getting off the plane. I stopped in to see if they could do a quick repair. Very reasonable price, excellent and friendly customer service, and they took care of it in 10 minutes. Really appreciated the help by the two gents running the shop.

I've been a customer for four years after my first experience in this store and will never shop anywhere else for belts, wallets, and anything else they make. Four years ago I was walking around on Cannery Row and my belt came undone (cheap quality) and broke while I was here. After walking around pulling my pants up every few seconds, I searched Google for anywhere local for a belt and The Leather Company was my closest option. As soon as I entered the store an older gentleman(I'm in my 20's at this time) was very polite. I explained to him what happened, and he fixed my belt within a few minutes while I browsed the store and wouldn't charge me for the repair. I wasn't even a customer at this point, but the service was better than anywhere else I've been. From then on, all my belts and wallets are from this store. Once again, thank you to the man who helped, I tell everyone of this experience in this store.

This is the second time bringing a bag in for repair. My Louis Vuitton bag was repaired with great care and skill. As with my previous interaction, they went above and beyond. I HIGHLY recommend the Leather Company for any and all leather needs.

They did a great job restoring an old 80's bomber jacket that belonged to my dad. He was a mechanic and smoker so the jacket stunk and was badly stained. It was cleaned and dyed black. It looks great and no trace of cigarette smoke. Thank you so much.

True artisans run this place. I picked up a needed belt plus a bracelet on a whim. The gentleman tending the store and working on a project was super chill. Check this place out if you want something a little different.

I love quality leather products. I happened in their store and John taught me all about the different kinds of leather and the things they can do with it. He made me an amazing custom ostrich belt that I got to choose the leather and the price was extremely reasonable. He had a variety of unique things for sale at really good prices. All of the products were top quality.
