Lil gem we now have found after only 10 or so years in the area... it's not exactly in the hotbed of activity or somewhere you'd notice on a drive by but if you like Asian style furniture both in and outdoor this is pretty much hitting a bullseye !.. we've order a couple of pieces so will reserve the rest of the review for delivery and product but so far we couldn't be happier !..

I have a huge, rustic coffee table we purchased when we bought our home in Carmel Valley in 1994. It's a statement piece, beautiful and well-made; I've never tired of it. I'm returning to Rodney Hunter for the reasons I mentioned about my coffee table. This time, I hope to find a chest for my TV that's at least 43" wide. The furniture piece I used for my old TV is very nice, but because of the way the legs are placed on the new TV, it's too narrow. I love beautiful furniture from any era; it always needs to be well made for me to put it in our home. I love mixing different styles in creative, and I feel tasteful ways. Rodney Hunter's furniture works with it all, from European antiques, mid-century clean lines to modern oversized chairs in wood and leather. Rodney Hunter's is costly, but what you buy is unique, quality furniture you can pass down to your children.

I have been searching for two months for the perfect console table to put in the window of my store to no avail- pottery Barn... FORGET IT... consignment stores... nada. Saw an ad in the Pine Cone and drive over here this morning and almost bought half the store. Every single piece was gorgeous, well made and reasonably priced. Free delivery sealed the deal. Rodney brought the two pieces I bought himself after work and helped us set them up inside the shop. Amazing service, amazing inventory!

Rodney Hunter has been in business on the Monterey Peninsula for over 25 year because he delivers a high quality product at a fair price. Over the years I have purchased many pieces; most recently, I purchased a teak bar table and stools. Rodney delivered them to our home the next day! We love our new outdoor bar table and stools.

Walked in there this morning to browse. Very intrigued to what they had. I was wearing my mask. Then the employee walks my way and says he wanted me to wear one of the blue surgical masks. I immediately said no way and walked out. Lost a customer. Really, now stores are going to tell us the TYPE of masks we can wear. Too bad, lost a customer. Rodney has got OCD. He is part of our problem!

Great find...If you are looking for high quality and not afraid to pay a fair price, you have to find this store. Walk in the "store" and I wasn't sure we were in the right place...sort of a "oriental furniture store vibe". Got to the back and found more exceptional teak outdoor furniture than anywhere else within 50 miles. Rodney is VERY helpful. Sure knows his stuff. We figured we were going to have to buy online...and ended up paying pretty much the same prices for chairs we never saw online. Guess that is what happens when the store owner makes two or three visits to Java per year...and has been doing that for 30+ years. He knows the best to buy over there and brings it over here.

I got a teak bench from Indonesia 15 years ago for $750. at Brinton's. Nice design and has held up great. In 2015 now, I told Rod to checkout his mobile website and enhance his image.
