I cannot even begin to explain how amazing everyone is at Cardinalli! This is my first apartment I've ever rented. And it was scary because I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do it in Monterey with the high prices and limited availability. Heather is an ANGEL She answered my phone calls at all hours multiple times for at least two weeks. Best part about Cardinalli is if you get denied for one location you can submit your application to another location free of charge. She worked with me closely to make sure I submitted everything I needed for the broker to review. I'm happy to say l am a first time Apartment owner and I could not be happier.
I'm going to suggest Cardinalli to everyone I know thank you Robert, Heather, Cindy and everyone!!!

I had a lovely property manager and unfortunately they had to transfer me to this HORRIBLE property management company. Ever since I have had 2 rent increases in less than a year and when asking if I could see the signed lease notice from the owner of the property was told "we have a contract with the owner and his signature is on file." Hiding things much? What do you think?
When giving me notice of the rent increase ($400 in less than a year by the way), they sent someone to leave an envelope on my door with no warning, slinking around and not even announcing the visit - scaring my family to bits.
If there is any issue, I have to fill out a form from online and email it to them. Maybe they respond, maybe they don't. Then if they do, I get a text or email to call the workmen myself and arrange a call.
When I asked for them to check the roof that leaked in the storms and ruined my furniture and curtains, it took me 2 months to get someone there, and then out of the blue I am sent a bill for $255 to pay for "an un-necessary visit." No one called me to discuss this or even sent an email prior to the bill.
I learned the hard way to pay for everything to be fixed myself. I had my helper come and check the roof and he found the soft area immediately and found the reason for the leaking. He also had to clean off the roof and gutters. It seems that all the debris on the roof that contributes to its deterioration does not concern their "roofing specialist."
I have to pay rent via their portal and they charge me extra for this even though it is an ACH draft. I doubt the owner knows any of this. I feel sorry for the owner of my house, an old man that was easy to work with when I was with my prior property manager.
I have found Cardinalli Realty & Property Management Company to be unreachable, disconnected, disinterested, detached, out of touch, and greedy. I will be working with my lawyer to be sure the owner of this expensive rental knows what they are up to - and if I find they are cheating the owner, I will update this review so stay tuned. If they kick me out because I am telling the truth (and note that I always pay my rent on time since 2013), I will also update this review. I wish I could give a zero for the disappointment this company is.

I unfortunately had the worst experience with Cardinalli Realty and had to deal with them for two years. It would be an understatement to say that poor communication and delayed responses is a norm for this company. They should pivot their business to a school for unprofessionals and valuable time wasters. As you can read with other reviews, this is quite a common factor in a lot of the complaints. Overall, a very disappointing and unprofessional rental experience.
Edit: Of course Ron Webber is not my real name. But I was definitely a tenant. I am just protecting my privacy online because I will not be subjected to backlash from this company when I have to declare my rental history for future tenancy. The fact remains that there are a lot of reviews here stating their level of unprofessionalism.
In terms of positive reviews, it's important to ensure their authenticity. It raises concerns when a review here praising maintenance work by this company is written by someone sharing the exact name ( First and Last ) as their maintenance employee. I’m sure that is just a coincidence -.-

Definitely had to clean up a lot since moving in. A lot of appliances were rusted and needed to be fixed or replaced, such as Shower,Sink,Thermostat,air vent, and front door. However, the staff is very kind and friendly, environment is quiet and close to convient stores and once everything was taken care of its a very cozy place.

I haven't had an issue renting with Cardinalli. I was unfamiliar with the application process but completed requests as promptly as possible. All done online as I lived out of town. There have been two issues in the building which are understandable given the age of it. All issues resolved quickly. I'm not sure what expectations renters have since I came from owning a place but I have no complaints.I'm a tenant so I expect some back and forth as well as possible minor inconveniences. A short wait is better than having to fix or pay for repairs myself. Plus Cardinalli is ten times better than my HOA was!

Excellent service, easy set up of bill payments, smooth contract signing, walk through, etc. Very responsive and quick to fix issues. I should have been renting from Cardinalli years ago!

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Neli the owner is extremely rude and unprofessional, this place will try and charge you for things that ARENT your fault. Be extremely careful with this property management place. Aside from being rude for the lack of completing maintenance request , the roof fell exactly where my toddler was playing & someone was able to break into my home because they never fixed my windows. Id give them no stars if it were possible.

This company never calls you back or responds to e-mails. We have a rent increase dispute with them and the homeowner agrees not to increase our rent due to problems we have had over the past several years with the property. They called her within 10 min of us leaving a message disputing the rent increase and she told Steven Cardinalli not to increase our rent, but he and his sister, Nelly Cardinally, have yet to respond to us, other than sending us a second rent increase notification. We have lived at this property for 8 1/2 years and they have done nothing other than fix a garbage disposal and a minor heating unit problem, we have done all of the other repairs ourselves and have taken care of this property as if it were our own. If you are an owner think twice or three times about using this company and if you are a renter, avoid them like the plague. We love our landlord, but hate Cardinalli Realty and Property Management.

STAY AWAY! NOT WORTH YOUR TIME, TRUST ME.One of the most unprofessional encounters I have ever had with a property managing company. They were very prompt in collecting the application fee. However, the same promptness was never shown when answering phone calls or emails. I got nothing but automated email responses and voicemail boxes that were full. When I requested for a refund, the owner (not the agent or anyone else in the staff..but the owner itself) took their time crafting an email where he turned the story around and blamed me for dropping the ball on sharing the info needed. Please look elsewhere for anyone looking to rent around the Monterey area.Edit to the reply from the owner:I was the one who made all the calls. They never called me. 90% of the time, it went to a voicemail inbox that was full.I never got responses to my emails. It was just automated replies.I never got a chance to talk to the listing agent or get a viewing. The only time the listing agent called back was after I told them I will be seeking a credit card refund.

These companies are about taking your money and giving you false hope. We applied for 3 different properties and waited well over two months to find out the property owner picked someone else. Communication from Heather is worthless, no communication.So unless you have a year to find a place do not bother.

I was the one who always called. 90% of the calls when to a voicemail that was full. I was on hold for over 5 minutes each time, too. Their emails were nothing but autogenerated emails. They never bothered following up, so I had to keep pestering them. And here we are, months later, and the owner is still defending these application fee eating tactics..
