Came to the SA YMCA for their winter basketball league for my kiddos. The league itself practices in Wilson Middle School in Pasadena. This YMCA is located in Monrovia. Weird name and location spread out. The league itself was decent. For our age group, we ref ourselves and they do not keep score. Jerseys cost $10. Decent starter league if you want your kids to try basketball.

Not busy. Looks the same as 30 years ago. It's worth the price of a family membership. Lots of little kids and family activities.

I really love this gym. The staff that works there are so kind and helpful. The pool temperature is great and the equipment is good too. Lots of classes are included in the membership and lots of things for kids too including childcare. This is not a fancy high-end gym. This is a Monrovia down-to-earth place. As a woman, I feel safe working out here at any time of the day and my teenage daughter can do her workout routine without being hassled. Sometimes I go in early for swimming and in the evenings I go workout or even dribble some balls on the basketball court. It is a lot of fun.

The Y has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember - playing in their pools as a child, then getting my very first job ever at a local Y by my high school - worked as a lifeguard for the last 2 years of school - and as an adult trying to get fit again lol!! I've had memberships here off and on over the past 6 years - definitely my fave Y in the SGV!! Their pool is enormous!! I love to swim here - especially now with their new reservation system. They have 4 swim lanes available with room for 2 swimmers in each lane - and you make timed reservations via their app. Super easy to use and you can block out 30 minute increments as available in each lane with no limit to how long you want to swim. Upon check in, you'll receive a wristband with your times and lane numbers - so helpful in avoiding conflicts! This is far superior to their pre-pandemic process where lap swim was a free-for-all and insanely crowded - I couldn't ever get a lane which was one reason I stopped going. But that's all fixed now - I LOVE their new system! They also have a huge basketball gym, extensive weight room with nautilus machines and free weights, a ballroom/classroom, and a treadmill room that includes bikes, ellipticals and a stair master. They have weekly classes you can also sign up for - also very easy to do in their app. They don't have as many class offerings as they used to though - but I think they're all still trying to get things back up and running again from the pandemic. This location doesn't offer personal trainers yet - but I was told they will soon if there's enough interest. But your membership includes access to all the area YMCA locations and they offer PT services at the nearby Sierra Madre & South Pas locations. They have 3 locker rooms - one for men only, one for women only, and one for "families with small children". The one for families is limited to children under a certain age and nudity is forbidden. The other two include rules for children over a certain age (I think it was 12-13 but I can't remember) and nudity is allowed (showers and changing etc). The staff are all just awesome here - so helpful and friendly! Prices are very reasonable- especially compared to all the other gyms in the area - I've been shopping around for general gym services with a pool and personal trainer for several months now and the prices here beat all the others. They have tons of parking.

Avoid this place! The staff have no communication amongst each other (a staff verbally told me this, gal with blonde hair whose in the front) we were told we could use the swimming toys and supplies they had at the pool area... well today a lifeguard told us we weren't allowed to use them. Which is it? I complained to the manager and he didn't seem too concerned, maybe if I was a white woman I would have been heard . I canceled my membership today and will not be returning to this location. This wasn't the only issue I have had with this place, mind you we have only been signed up a month. Save yourself money and time and find another location.

This YMCA is AWESOME! I'm currently between jobs and low on funds. I couldn't afford to join today. I hadnt taken a shower in a week and im currently living in my car. I came in and met Mark i asked him if i could just take a quick shower. He said yes no problem... Amazing crew ! Front desk staff also very friendly and supportive. The facilities were great. Cean locker room, a suna room. Lots of good vibes kids having fun a kick A workout room. I cant wait to become a member. Thank you Mark! That shower felt great. Now im ready for interviews. Don’t sign your child up for summer camp if they have special needs — they will kick them out.

Very good place, just joined two days back. Happy about the facilities. Not explored much but still I like it. The family pack at $79/ month is really worth it. The staff were so nice during the joining process.

Small but always friendly. I've never had an issue with not being able to use equipment. Pool is always clean. There is a sauna for each gender in the bathrooms. Its a great place to start if you're afraid of working out in front of people.

The staff is wonderful, the facilities are overall clean, and the value to the community is very high. I appreciate the child activity center a couple times of week so that I can work out (they watch kids from 2-11 years old at no additional cost), and I recently picked up racquetball because they have the facilities and equipment there. My daughter has been taking swim classes for a year, and the teachers are patient, fun, and kind. (And being a member + swim classes = overall a better deal if you go to swim twice a week.) The app is glitchy, but the staff is always willing to help. I wish the hours were longer (Friday nights and weekend afternoons), but overall, it's a great community center, and I'm happy to be there.

This location has poor management, super short opening hours and unhelpful fromt desk staff specially when it comes to helping you for siging in to the classes. Those ladies at the morning shift are un helpful and irresponsible. They literally don’t do their job and think that being on the front desk at a gym is just saying “Good Morning” and “Have a good day” with a fake smile. If you can go to other spots don’t register at this location.

1. Parking & Restrooms - many parking spots but at the peak of gym hours it does get full, but no fee nor limit, restrooms inside available for users of gym 2. Contactless payment- yes, you can pay online 3. Reservations/Appointment - for classes & activities you do need to sign up, gym is pretty open 4. Customer Service/Assistance - all employees have been nice 5. Amenities/Cleanness- i like how classes are assembled catered to age groups, personally reached out to the local ymca to put my niece in swim classes, we have enjoyed it so far in my reviews each star is given when they meet all my top necessities overall, definitely would return for another swim session & hope to learn more about what we can use in the gym, so far don't like the limited hours this location has
