Mahan is a very enjoyable Indian restaurant with a diverse menu that delivers some good flavors. There is a sense of no-nonsense value here. With a menu designed for both standard affair and vegetarian options, many kinds of tastes can be accommodated. Proteins do include the options for seafood, which many other Indian restaurants may not. One impressive dish is the chicken Tandori. Seasoned well with spices and lots of garlic, this became quite a highlight as it arrived at the table sizzling. Heat levels can also be adjusted for the shy, and dishes still taste well-spiced. The popular Tikka Masala is very excellently made. A rice pilaf is available also in contrast to the Jasmin rice. All the Naan is freshly made and delicious. The service is pleasant and you can see your food prepared as the kitchen has an open format for all to see.

We love it here! As soon as we stepped in the restaurant, the server greeted us with a smile. Ambience is peaceful. Lunch menu is at great price. Come during weekdays for their lunch menu. I had vegan lunch and my husband had the chicken tikka masala meal. Every time i eat Indian cuisine, i literally am happy. I love the spices dances in my palate. The chicken masala is the top hit! Flavorful, sweet and tangy with a hint of spice. Garlic naan smells wonderful, tastes great! We also had chai tea. The server is so friendly. I love Indian food, it’s just simply amazing.Vegetarian options: Amazing!Dietary restrictions: They have vegetarian and vegan optionsKid-friendliness: Peaceful and relaxing restaurant great for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Lots of space in and around the restaurant to have a wheelchair

Bad food, worst ambiance topped with arrogance; don’t care if you see “we weren’t not able to verify your presence”. Never visiting again; female waitress is very arrogant…. I paid $1 as tip to be respectful.

Went here around lunch time on a Sunday. Parked on the street but I think they have in the back as well. I ordered a few items. The waitress asks what's the level of spiciness we want. I got the medium level for my mango chicken dish. Unless you could really eat spicy food, make sure you tell them. My mom couldn't tolerate that heat. But it was delicious for me. I ordered the Pilaf rice and the combination was very good. I ordered the garlic naan bread, it was thin like tortilla. I had better else where.

I have been coming to Mahan at Monrovia since the last two years, their lunch specials are just perfect with both veg and non veg options. Do check out their Biriyani, that rocks.Always welcoming atmosphere and great hospitality along with good delicious food.

I ordered thru Uber Eats so I can't comment on anything other than the food and the food was excellent. The chicken Tikka was delicious and the side of mixed pickle and mango chutney portions were generous in comparison to other restaurants. I will definitely try dining in the restaurant soon.

Ordered food online this place is actually surprisingly disappointing. The Manchurian chicken please take it off the menu as it does no Justice. Butter chicken taste like ketchup. the bread is definitely not made by the restaurant it's rough. All in all quite disappointed. Def should stick to Nirvana in Arcadia

We went around 11 on a Saturday and were the only people in the restaurant. The staff seemed a little surprised to see us there! But the food was absolutely amazing. If you want to try a few things, definitely go for the lunch special. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but we both left full and with enough leftovers for a light lunch the next day. It's also close enough to walk to from the old town Monrovia public parking lot and near the park. You'll want to take a walk afterwards to work off some of the very rich food!

Love this place, been meaning to write a review for a while now. I'm trying to do this all from memory from snippets that span 2019 to 2023.Service:Always had friendly people greet me and refill my cup even before asking.Ambience: There's a nice long corridor/hallway from the back entrance that leads you to this modern look with some Indian designs. The light peers through the front glass doors and some of the artwork, it's a nice feeling if you're in your own head enjoying some Indian food.Food:Pre-pandemic they used to have a $15 lunch buffet that had everything from a la carte into buffet form. I think they still have a thali so you get a combo of a lot of dishes served in small silver cups which is fine but it's no buffet. Post-pandemic, the buffet is gone sadly and I miss it but would I be willing to pay $16+ for chicken makhani, hell yes! Absolutely delicious, my favorite was the chicken makhani, very flavorful. That chicken makhani is the wow factor I wanted from Indian food, been searching far and wide from So Cal to find that one that sparks my head. You know when you find that one dish from a place and you can't speak for their other dishes but that one you'll always have their back.As for the other food, it's pretty good, not the same wow for me but I see them put a lot of love in it, and maybe it could wow for others. It has the bright Indian hue and the flavors that give an expectation of yeah you're eating Indian food. And they make it custom to taste and man when you say spicy, lol you'll get it.The naan is on the crispier side if I remember correctly and it has a slightly star anise flavor profile in my head for some reason. I remember their tandoori chicken looking different than most tandoori chicken I've experienced. It's on the yellow side rather than red but oh man it is definitely delicious pieces of dark meat with that nice hint of grilled taste.

Whaooooooooo this place is THE BEST Indian Food around here and many other restaurants. I had the chicken Curry and let me tell you that I had have this plate before in other places BUT NOTHING compared to Mahan restaurant the food is AUTHENTIC by the CHEF. I saw the Chef rocking on the line, he looks like he knows very well what he's cooking. I will come back for sure and make this my favorite restaurant. The waitress was very kind and always with a big smile that makes people comfortable. She looks like she is enjoying her job and does it with passion. I think this is a family restaurant. The restaurant looks very clean that makes me feel good. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone because it offers the best of the best Indian food.
