I haven't been there yet. But the young lady who answered my call was a very friendly person. I'm looking so forward to meet my potential best friend. Thank you see you soon.

Not a Karen at all! But I do have something to say and let it all out! Last couple of years I was trying to get a dog for my daughter,So I did look into gurrs and purrs website because it was closer Alhambra to Rosemead..And in that photo was a Chihuahua mix and texted Heather asked if the doggie get along with cats and texted "yes" and sent me the file for the application questions and when completed the application with just couple of errors. She texted me and not in a nice way about keeping the dog indoors/outdoors...and well..I didn't get excepted (like I don't trust you in some sort of way)... ANYWAYS!Good for you guys who commented and have good experience from Gurrs 'n, Purrs but my personal experience, while I do understand the strict policy, didn't even get the chance to start over and reapply the application ,not even got a reply back and at least a staff to come visit my house to see the big yard,I felt you guys are in the wrong to assume that I am not suitable for a dog...but end of story...I live in another state now and NOW I have 3! with 1 pit mix,1 real pit and 1 Chihuahua mix and my daughter is happy!

We went to PetSmart today and Janie was very accommodating while juggling the front of store with pooches and the back where we fell in love with kitties DeDe and BeBe. We filled out an adoption application and really hope we're blessed with this sweet brother and sister. Janie has a big heart and was very busy and yet took the time we needed to fall in love UPDATE: they're home!!!! Happy dance! So excited ?

This organization is so underrated and it deserves better. First off, I am so sorry to hear Heather J. passed away. I am a former volunteer with Gurrs and Purrs-I may be a little biased here, but it was just one of the most eye-opening experience volunteering here. It is a wonderful organization with wonderful dogs and cats (most particularly cats) to adopt from. Heather was a nice person and done her job. She did want the best for these doggos and kitties. This is also a small organization with great volunteers all around. I will highly recommend anyone to adopt from and/or volunteer with Gurrs and Purrs

Shame on the Karens writing nasty reviews. Rescues are not businesses...they are charities trying to save animals, most of $ comes from their own pockets. Thank you for saving these angels , there is a place for you in heaven!

Hello! I had a good experience with my adoption process! Heather was not rude in any way! I think it is so unreasonable for people to be saying she is rude and unprofessional! It is horrible a review I saw for this shelter! Heather cannot control what she goes through! She takes care of the animals as best as she can ! My dog was in good condition and no signs of neglect ! Also I am saying this off of reviews i have seen, she is not snappy! She seems like she could be very stressful and it is horrible what one of these reviews say! I had a reasonable process with my dog and I really do reccomend adopting from here and I know I sure will! I really hope things turn out well for you heather!

We contacted this business days ago. No one has bothered to respond to it. We will not be doing business with them if this is how they handle their customers' attempts to adopt.

Heather is an old blind person…. She shouldn’t be allowed to tend to cats. This person sounds like she should be in a kennel (old person home) if she can’t keep up with customers or the demand for getting back to customers who want to adopt and not shop. I’ll be reaching out to the ASPCA to have the employees investigated to be sure that people who are fit to take care of the animals and to do the process of adoption as well. I’ll also be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. I’m hear to adopt a kitten who means more to me than a worthless blind old lady who needs to euthanized like animals since she is incompetent and blind.

This place was great! It's very down to earth, old school not gouging.

I left my number and the details of my situation with this place and never heard back. I was really desperate too but I took the matters into my own hands and took care of the problem with no help from them. I know they are probably busy but they should at least get back to the people that go through the trouble of leaving their number and details to their situation.

If you have a house, a yard, you are so lucky because you can have more than one adoption pet.At my mom and dad's we had Very Large, holiday gatherings, we brought a 'stray' friend. She always said, "What's one more". So...Small pets don't eat much.Just look in their EYES wanting your Love. You will get unconditional LOVE

You CAN adopt a dog only if this lady ever answers her phone, but be assured when she does answer you'll get a quality yet condescending attitude.

So I called this business/rescue to inquire about a pup I had seen on their website that I wanted to adopt. So I called the number listed online and someone answered and hung up right away. So I called back twice and she let it ring to go to voicemail both times, I would have left a voicemail but it was FULL. So since I couldn’t leave an voicemail and I find text messages unprofessional while dealing with business stuff, I decided to email this lady which I have still not heard back from and it’s been almost two weeks. After several attempts at calling (every day for two weeks)and no answer I assume she DOESN’T want these dogs to be adopted. I decided to look elsewhere, I found my pup at the Animal Center in Rancho Cucamonga and I HIGHLY recommend you all look there too. The staff is so very friendly and so helpful and informative. And, THEY PICK UP THEIR PHONES AND REPLY TO THEIR EMAILS!!!!Edit: they will delete your posts on Facebook if you ask why they don’t return phone calls or emails.

So unprofessional and rude. Heather Johnson doesn't reply to calls or emails until it's convenient for her. When she does reply she's rude and snappy. I don't want to say adopt from somewhere else, because these dogs need homes, but adopt from somewhere else if you want an easier process.
