All I can say is Kiana...Kiana and more Kiana. First off I have never seen a person at really any job that takes your needs above and beyond to the point where it brings tears to your eyes. A lot of people sadly do not enjoy where they work and you can just feel the passion and care Kiana has when she helps you. I did not tell her this but after she went above and beyond to make me feel heard when I spoke with her about a concern she addressed it right away and didn't even let a second slip by before she sprung into action. She responded so fast to the point I didn't even have my concerns anymore. I actually did shed some tears because she speaks with you so gentle and makes you feel valued at a customer. Lastly I know for sure any co-workers Kiana has they must love working with her, because of how her spirit is when she speaks with you. I literally would not mind working there if I had a co worker like her because she makes everyone feel like they matter and that no issue or problem is to big to over come. I would like to thank Extra space storage for hiring such a beautiful soul like Kiana. I do not know her personally at all and met her for the first time yesterday but I had to take time out to type this now because so many place I have been where employees are mean and disrespectful and get attitudes with you because they are miserable where they are working. So thank you to Extra Space for having a beautiful employee as her and Kiana thank you for going above and beyond. I even watched her speak and help other customers and she is equally as kind to all of us and that is truly remarkable. She deserves anything she desires within this company because it is rare that you come by employees like this .

Vicky the manager is a good human being but the company sucks.Their 800 number claims the vacancy rate is 15% now (untrue), but they won’t be holding on to renters with constant steep hikes.No reputable storage company treats renters like Extra Space in Monrovia. SAFETY is also an issue here. They don’t value customers.As a consumer, be VERY weary of their business practices. You cannot have peace of mind here where you relied on storing your belongings without repeated attempts to extort money from you. In barely 8 months, they’ve made multiple attempts to hike the rate dramatically from $163 to a whopping $270. They raise rent literally every few months. Super seedy.Basically, their game is to hike the price every several months and make you feel like you got a discount if the manager offers to drop the hike by a very small amount and shrug shoulders.I called the 800 number and they claimed they’re just a “short term” facility.I would have gone with a competitor if it had been made clear that they’d claim their disgusting contract supports doing this to tenants.Do know that when you point out how DISGUSTING and unethical it is (to hold your belongings hostage lest you want to pay movers)…they might reduce the attempted hike by 30-40 bucks.Beyond pathetic and lacking in transparency as a business practice.If this happens to you, consider filing complaints with consumer agencies and small claims court if you must fork over money to movers to get out. As a consumer, I helped this location fill a less desirable upper floor unit and this is how they thanked me.**BEST part? Safety on weekends/after hours is concerning. An intrusive man with a towel on his head and sunglasses indoors was on the upper floor with no one else around was my favorite among them; downstairs resident transients also make their way inside elevator area to greet you in the back entrance where no staff is visible.** So much for the cameras we pay for.As consumers, our strength is in sharing our experience to prevent this from happening to others. At 74+ views in just a few days, I’m thrilled. It costs Extra Space a lot more $ to lose potential renters.

This review is for the Monrovia location on Lime. Rates are comparable to other locations - AT FIRST. Within less than 3 months I received a notice of rate increase that jacked up the monthly rent by almost $100. Would not recommend solely on that basis. Sketchy business practices. Also, there appears to be someone living in a space at this location - the pull down door to one of the units is frequently 1/3 of the way open with extension cords running down the hall etc. Does not always feel safe entering for that reason.

SUPER clean facility, excellent customer service in the office, plenty of parking, safe area, easy to access, and great price! Take advantage of the online offer for the best deal. *Also the access hours (6am-10pm M-Sun) are extremely convenient for working customers and the best in the area. 5/5 stars

This is a very clean and well maintained facility. The staff have been great especially Vicki and Kianna. When I had any problems with my account, services or within the facility they have been more than happy to help. They take their time with customers so you feel valued and welcome. I have recommended this facility to others and will definitely continue to do so.

Vicky was amazing in helping us select the right size unit and getting it booked for the dates we needed. She was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and made the experience a breeze! I've rented many storage units over the years and usually it's been a difficult experience, so working with Vicky an extra space was a true pleasure that I appreciated! I highly recommend this place based on the customer experience and the prices / product they offer.

I’ve been storing my belongings for just over 4 months now, and everything has been better than advertised. From the day that I walked in, Vicky showed me the different units and prices ( which are as good as or better than other places. She was very helpful in asking me how much I had and showing me how much could fit in what size unit. She didn’t try to oversell a larger unit at all, which surprised me in a positive way. Kianna has also been great. Always a smile and very friendly, she also has been there twice cleaning up a couple of messes for me. I had spilled a bottle of laundry beads and pods all over the place. Before I could get downstairs for a broom to clean it up, Kianna was there and had it done. I offered to clean my own mess, but she wasn’t letting me. She thanked me, said it was her job, and was very friendly while doing it. Honestly, I would recommend this facility anytime.

The elevator has been out for a week and will not be repaired for another half a week at the earliest. I had to carry an entire extended cargo van worth of items up three floors of stairs last week. And a week on, they still have not had the courtesy to notify any of their customers by email. Unless you call, you'll just show up at the facility with your stuff, and have no way to actually get to your unit, except through an emergency stairwell. All of this could be resolved by taking 30 seconds to send a notification out, like any other properly run facility. Staff is super rude and unapologetic when you call in.

Cancelled our unit because we moved to Northern California. We took time off work to come down a week later to remove hundreds and hundreds of pounds of items from our second floor unit only to find the elevator was out of service. We had to make 25+ trips up and down the stairwell. Nobody bothered to call us and let us know, and there was no compensation either. The funny part is they raised our unit price by $26 for August and didn’t even have the common courtesy to call/email their customers and let them know the elevator is down. They’re greedy.

It looked very attractive initially since was 35-40% cheaper than the neighbors but I heard that they jack up the rates soon afterwards, sometimes double within a few months. So you have no idea where the rents will be down the line. I would be willing to bet that the crossed out rate is the price they will soon raise it to, not the advertised rate.
