The store is like a Raley's vibe, I guess.The deli is all I really care about there. I don't care about the employees attitudes and stuff lol.I just want that delicious sandwich.Not everyone can say that wonky or weirdo service gets my money. BUT in the case of this stores local legacy and whatnot, I'm willing to overlook the employee and service issues.I mean look at the sandwich? $13

I absolutely love that store.O'Brien's is a family type store. With top of the line produce of a large variety for a med. Sized store ,great products, very friendly.

Fantastic product line! The cheese department is dreamy, the meat department is Devine, the deli department is delicious! A very consistent excellent experience. It's fun just to go in a look around.

If I can put no stars I would. I come here all the time, but not anymore. It’s thanksgiving day, my wife needed bread crumbs, and we live down the street. We have a 3 month year old who cried the entire time we prepared the last minute food, so I decided to take him for the ride to this store in hopes he would fall asleep. I get there at 1:57pm rush to the entrance with my baby, and I’m greeted by a lady who tells me that they’re closed. I look at my Watch and it’s 1:58pm, and i get it, but I begged her with my baby next to me to let me only get bread crumbs, I still have a couple of minutes, but she still refused to let me in. I quickly asked for the manger and she pointed to her who sat in a cubicle. The manager popped her head up, we made eye contact and I pleaded with her, and mentioned my baby next to me in hopes she would have some compassion at least, especially when several customers were still in line checking out. The manager with a cold facial expression said “we’re closed” and popped her head back down. I got frustrated and said aloud I will never come back here again, and the lady guarding the door shrugged her shoulders and said “so”. I never leave reviews because I know the struggles of taking care of customers, and am currently working in customer service, but this is not right. It’s thanksgiving, they should go above and beyond to help people getting last minute items, not turn a cold shoulder, especially if a customer has an infant with them. This isn’t over.

This is a smaller grocery store than others in modesto, but it makes it helpful as you will easily be able to find what you're looking for. I'm never disappointed with anything I get here, and it is always affordable. The workers are always kind and helpful.

Don't honor what they print in their Ads! Went with a copy of it,showed it to them and they still didn't honor it. Thanks alot for nothing.

Why don't you update your hours on Yelp? It's just lazy not to do so and inconvenient for a people who use Yelp, to find a place that's open.

I love O'Brien's for a few reasons. It's a smaller grocery store which makes it easy for someone with anxiety to shop in without feeling overwhelmed. They have great prices even for being a smaller store, I would say better prices than Safeway for sure. Their cashiers and other staff are kind and helpful. I wish they had more pre-packaged beef and chicken options to choose from sometimes, but their meat department has good cuts and friendly staff so it's not too bad. I also wish they carried Kerrygold butter ?

We came to O'Brien's Market on Roseburg Avenue inside the Roseburg Square shopping center. Came for some sandwiches and a pint of egg salad. I'm soooo happy that there is a place that still has egg salad sandwiches!! It seems to be a "dying breed" around here. So, I purchase the container (ranging from 1/2 pint to quart) of egg salad to make a deconstructed sandwich. I eat it with wheat thins and bacon. They have bacon by the slice in the deli and it is delicious. I love my bacon crispy, and boy is it good! The last time I got the egg salad it was a little dry, and there were giant pieces of dry yolk-- yuck. Thankfully, this one was good. My son and his dad each had a regular sandwich. My son had turkey, provolone, spinach, black olives, some condiments, salt and pepper on a white roll. He likes a cheese bread too, but few places have that anymore. :( He really enjoyed his sandwich. His dad had a ham and swiss sandwich on a white roll. I don't remember all the trimmings, but he said there was a decent amount of meat on both sandwiches and was happy with that. I tried to sign up for their digital sandwich punch card, but I had some technical difficulties. Bummer, because we like to come here and would like to get a sandwich free. However, not much luck figuring it out. I think it is buy 10 sandwiches, get the 11th free. Almost anything free you can count me in! :) The Chobani yogurts were on sale for 99 cents! My son and I both eat those, so I was happy with that price. Obriens tends to be a more upscale grocery store. There motto is "the best place for fresh!" They are really good about making sure nothing in the store is "coded" or expired. They have a little clearance section where one can find cheaper items that are about to expire. It is nice on the pocketbook if you find the right item you are looking for! Oh, I forgot to buy the secret sale item. If you sign up for emails you will recieve a secret sale item and this week is a pretty good one! The two workers in the deli were nice to talk to and they did a good job preparing our food. Great customer service! My only small suggestion is that the meal deal (a bag of chips and a soda) be more clear. The person helping us said it included the chips in two places, we were excited to get the Doritos nacho chips, the cashier and the manager on duty said no. The combo price wasn't working at the register and we had to go back and get different chips. Kind of a pain, but not the end of the world. Thankfully, there wasn't anyone else in line.
