I made an APPOINTMENT days in advance, and when I showed up for my scheduled appointment today, there was nobody there to help me. There was no receptionist at the front desk. A tax preparer by the name of Noelle was in the office, but she was already working with another client inside a cubicle. She didn't greet me, but instead yelled through the cubicles asking if I had an appointment. I said yes & told her my name & appointment time. I'm pretty sure she expected me to leave after she told me she was the only one in the office & was already with a client. However, I explained that I drove from Escalon for this appointment. So at that point, I was trying to at least fill out the paperwork they needed for me to drop off my documents. (Drop off, prepare later) I just had a couple of questions to make sure I was filling that out correctly, and Noelle was incredibly RUDE and condescending about my questions. She rolled her eyes & said, "your preparer will have to work that out for you, I can't answer that for you right now because I'm with another client." What did I make an appointment for then? Why was there nobody there to help me? Noelle also suggested I leave my paperwork at the front desk, and that whoever my preparer is would get to it the next time they come in. I asked if she could tell me who my preparer is so that I could follow up with them later that day, and she said, "No, I don't know. I would have to look that up and I'm with a client. It's probably Jennifer." (Literally a complete guess instead of taking 2 seconds to actually look it up for me.) I also wasn't about to leave documentation that had our social security numbers, DL numbers, dates of birth up at the reception desk that anybody could walk up and grab. My husband and I have been doing our taxes at this location for many YEARS and never had an issue before. Back when Darren was there, we always received EXCEPTIONAL service. But it seems that the new staff in there doesn't want my business. After this experience we will never be back to that office. I am so disgusted that a paying customer would be treated this way, it is unacceptable. I should also mention that during this whole thing, 2 other customers walked in, and they were never greeted by Noelle. I had to let them know that there was only 1 person in the office and they were already with a client. So of course they turned around & left. You are losing customers. It's TAX SEASON! Where is your staff?! I emailed the team leader/manager Gyna, to let her know of the situation. Meanwhile I brought my documents down the street to a different H&R Block location. They were much more kind and helpful, but they're booked up and unable to get my taxes done until probably next week. I have since found a different office (NOT H&R Block) recommended by a family member. So I will more than likely be picking up my documentation from H&R Block and bringing my business elsewhere. Gyna did call me to apologize & offered me a *small* discount for the inconvenience. But even with that discount, I'd still be paying significantly more at H&R Block than if I were to go somewhere else. So why wouldn't I go somewhere else and get it done faster & cheaper? My word of advice to H&R Block is to treat your longtime customers better. It's a shame.
