Worst customer experience ever. I thought this company did my taxes. But it turns out they failed to file my taxes all together. They filed a return for me under the wrong SSN. They lost all my tax information and randomly found it in a drawer. Called them for 4 months. They have only answered me because I reported them to corporate. On top of that I am paying the state of California hundreds because of there mistakes. Totally the worst company ever. Don't use these People ever for your taxes.

There needs to be an option for 0 or negative stars. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. They have incompetent people who somehow pass as tax professionals. Received an IRS letter in October 2021 and needed to send a revised 1040 with info I left off. No big deal right? I speak in person with Julie Frisch at the Scenic office. After leaving, I email her with documents she said she needed to refile. A couple days go by and I email her asking what the status is. She said, and I quote, "Iam doing the sale of the homes if I need any thing I will call." I received a letter from the IRS stating they were reviewing the documents sent. Cut to March 2022 - another letter from the IRS stating I owe an ungodly amount of money. Completely confused, I contact Julie only to have her tell me she never filed the paperwork! For the last 5 months, never filed a THING. The doc the IRS received was just the return portion of the letter they sent me that she returned on my behalf with NO RETURN. She tries to blame me by saying that she was waiting for me to sign. I ask her 'did you EVER contact me via email or phone to tell me to sign anything???' No, of course she didn't. Miraculously, she gets the return done that day and I sign it in the office and she electronically files it.Then in May another IRS letter stating I have to forward all documentation because it doesn't match their records. I contact Julie again and, after no response for a couple days, find out by calling the office that she's out on vacation because the office is now closed due to tax season being done. News flash people - people need assistance year round with taxes! Not just during tax season!I now start working with Leo Zeng in the Mchenry office since that's the only one open. Trying to explain what was going on was exhausting, but he figured out that Julie used the wrong purchase price for one of my homes which completely messed up the figures. So now i have to send a whole bunch of other docs to him. These docs are from 2014-2017 so trying to find them is a task in itself. Trying to get a hold of Leo is even worse. He is a horrible communicator. Every time i would provide something, something else would be needed and it was impossible to get more than one response from him. If I replied or provided something, it would take multiple days to get anything back. Now all I need is a printed form with the final updated and accurate numbers and he can't even print them so I can pick them up or email them. I've emailed and left messages with the front desk. This place is so unprofessional and has the most incompetent people I've come across in a long time.

If your "tax professionals" name is Jennifer Messenger, you might as well begin saving to pay fees, penalties, and interest for the foreseeable future. Being in the military is always a bit troublesome when it comes to filling taxes. For the last 11 years, I've been doing my taxes with H&R Block and never had any issues. Expensive, but worth the work. Unfortunately, this was not the case for my 2020 return. I choose their online option, uploaded all documents, paid $243.00, and laid back like I usually do. Fast forward to 6 weeks ago, I received a letter from the IRS stating I owed about $5,900.00. Before freaking out, I revised all the paperwork and realized that my spouse's income, was not reported. I contacted Jennifer and she began to explain how I didn't get the "peace of mind" option, so the only thing she could do was submit a claim. Even though she bluntly agreed to having made the mistake. She supposedly submitted this claim on March 18th... I have yet to hear back. I've messaged her, called the office, and still no reply. Magically every time I call, she is busy. Not only do they provide false advertisement, but they treat their military customers like a number. When it comes to collecting the money, say no more, they make it happen. I will personally make sure none of my soldiers, or anyone I know, continue to use H&R Block.

Taxes are never fun or a lovely experience, that being said, the employees are great and always helpful! We go to the Oakdale office.

I am having the same issue as Lorren D. My tax return has not been received by IRS despite filing it several months ago with H&R Block. It's impossible to reach anyone in the office. I have called customer service provided by H&R Block on Lorren's Yelp response and the response I got was "We aren't able to get ahold of the office so we will send them a message and you should get a call back. Do you have a copy of your return?" WTH?

DON'T USE THIS OFFICE! They will leave you hanging.Last year a gal from this office filed my return, no issues. THIS YEAR my return sat there for over a month after being passed to one associate and back. These associates never called me once, they would leave requests for info in the HR Block message center online. I'd answer or upload documents and assumed they were working on my return. I WAS SO WRONG. These associates left for the season and also left my return behind without processing it or calling me directly.I called corporate and they reassigned my return to a woman in Missouri. On Thursday, April 22 she asked a few questions. Friday in the am, more questions and request for documents which was the third time I had uploaded my documents. This was all done thru HR Block portal, still not a phone call.Today is Monday, April 26. I have spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with HR Block's corporate office to get to speak with the new person handling my return. The soonest I can speak with someone in that office is Wednesday. And there it sits...I am extrememly disappointed with HR Block and advise anyone that may consider using them to steer clear!

I booked an appointment online for a face to face meeting 3 days prior. I came inside the office on time and the tax preparer said she only does drop offs. My appointment was scheduled for a face to face meeting "@Mchenry Center." They wanted to reschedule my appointment in two days. Thank you for wasting your clients' time. This is ridiculous. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

This place is a joke. I've been coming here for years and they can't look into my fathers return. They don't care about the people at all.

Is it possible to add more stars? I called today stressed, overwhelmed and confused. I Had a horrible experience with a different office that included being screamed at for simply answering a question wrong. Ugh. I called this office and am 100% impressed. My answer AND solution in mins. No research needed. Richard is a professional and has a full understanding of what he does, how it works, and customer service. The girl who answered the phone (I'm so sorry I don't remember the name (I just know she is a little newer to the office) wasps very kind and showed that though she didn't know the answer, she was going to get me the help I needed. True customer service! She handled the call flawlessly. My relief started the moment she answered. !Thank you both so very much! Now I can clean up up the papers after over a week and sit on my couch. And rellllaaaaaxxx
