This was a few weeks ago.I called to ask for an extension on my tax. The front desk lady told me to come in which an available appointment was opened. When I got there and was sitting with Tax Associate Jay Williams I asked her plenty of times (4x)if this was for an extension she replied and said “Yes” I said “Okay”. As she proceeded to keep typing I realized something was OFF. And told her “I just want to do an extension “ she said “okay”. By the time we were almost done with the “extension “ she said “ since you’re here we can just file your tax” …I wanted to do an extension because I was able to pay for the extension that day. Since she did my tax I had to pay almost $200 upfront but didn’t have it til that Thursday. She told me on Thursday to go to Mchenry location and pay it and they will give me my file after I pay and that they don’t do it at Carpenter location. I even called the office after I left and ask the front desk lady and she told me to go to the Mchenry location to pay and they will give me my file after I pay. I said “okay” . That following Thursday came and when I entered the Mchenry location and I told them EXACTLY what Jay Williams and the front desk lady told me. They were so confused. They told me to go to Carpenter location and ask for my tax papers. They said they didn’t have my file and that Jay Williams supposed to have them. After I told them everything that happened while I was there. The gentleman that helped me told me “ if you’re feeling uncomfortable about going there, I can help you and print it out for you” I said “okay thanks can I pay” . Then I proceeded to pay. He even double checked my file that Jay Williams file to make sure everything was legit. I told them I never experienced service like that. I’ve been with hrblock for YEARS. By far the worst tax associate I have dealt with
