The owner of this place hires people under the table and then refuses to pay them after months of work. Would advise against doing business with this outfit. Super shady.

BEWARE! Public service announcement here. Please avoid the fraud Luis M. Oliveira, doing business in Stanislaus County as “Dezignz” or “Modern Dezignz.” Luis has a history of defrauding others. In the summer of 2021, Luis contacted Koverton’s sales representative with whom he had done business in the past for other suppliers. Luis said was looking to purchase Koverton furniture for his clients in Turlock, CA for the grand opening of a store. Luis submitted a purchase order to Koverton for the furniture, along with a credit card deposit form with his sister Susete A. Oliveira’s name and credit card information. Koverton’s first attempt to charge the card for 50% of the order was declined. Koverton staff contacted Luis right away regarding the matter. Luis told Koverton that he would call us back once he settled the matter with the credit card company, which he did, and Koverton’s second attempt to charge the card worked. Luis told Koverton that he had used all of his client’s moneys so that was why he had to use his sister’s credit card.By the end of August 2021, Koverton was ready to ship Luis’s order and we charged the remaining 50% balance on the same credit card. The final charge went through and the goods were picked up and delivered to Luis a few days later. About one week after Luis received the shipment, however, Koverton was contacted by its credit card processing company stating the two charges on the credit card used by Luis had been disputed as fraud. Koverton immediately contacted Luis and he told us numerous times that was going to sort it out with his sister. Unfortunately, weeks went by with no resolution by Luis or Susete. Numerous phone calls, e-mails and text messages by Koverton went unanswered. Continued refusal to pay for our product. Koverton disputed this matter with its processing company and provided all documentation to show that Koverton shipped the product as agreed. The processor informed Koverton that the case could not be reversed and that Koverton’s only recourse was to take legal action against the Oliveiras to recover the goods or the funds promised to Koverton as payment. Koverton really didn’t want to have to go to court, but seeing as we had no choice, we did so.On March 30, 2022, the Los Angeles Superior Court entered a judgment in favor of Koverton against Luis and Susete Oliveira for “Breach of Contract, Common Counts, and Fraud (Promise Without Intent to Perform).” So far, not surprisingly, the Oliveiras have refused to pay any money on the judgment. As far as we know, the Oliveiras also have not appealed the judgment.

Fair prices and a large selection of outdoor decor at the Turlock outdoor location. I bought a 3' tall cement (I think? Very heavy) pot, classically designed for $200. Great price when compared to others in the area. I haven't been to the Modesto location, yet, off the Kansas exit, but I have seen photos of interesting items on the Facebook page.

If I can give this place a no star I would. I have been here several times. The young kid and the female employee look like they truly hate their job. They are super inconsistent with pricing. Every time I go its different pricing. For example, a 4inch planter will usually run $3 when the middle aged man is there. The young boy will say $5 for the same planter and the female employee will say $7. The funny part is that the young boy and female employee take a moment to think about pricing (seriously ridiculous!!!!) Truly inconsistent pricing. Also, was going to buy a planter that said $39.99 but when I went to pay for it, the planter magically was going to cost me $60 I told her "there is a 39.99 sign on it" the female employee replied with "that's not our pricing" will not be back and will be taking my business elsewhere

Don't shop here or any businesses that Luis Oliveira runs. Hes racist and a fraud. He'll rip you off, use the money to go buy cigarettes and alcohol and then call you a fat cheap b***h on facebook. Google his name, he was arrested for embezzling 1 million dollars. Not a trustworthy person. Would leave 0 stars if I could. He also has a pots business and Stevenson bar and grill. If you're against racism do not support this person.

Luis is amazing, his passion and humor makes any job he does fun! Luis provides prompt service,amazing attention to detail, and is 5 trends ahead of anyone in town. He created shelves for my store front, and I also purchased chairs from him. All my customers are in love with my chairs and can't wait for Designz in Turlock to open!

Furniture can be purchased as stock or custom made; I love Luis' eye for interior decor. My husband and I started with purchasing a crystal modern chandelier for the living room, then a beautiful chandelier for the living room both add to the modern Mediterranean style to my home. Can't wait for my custom sofa sectional and single chair for the living room from Anthony Lane made in LA, USA. High quality with many colors and fabric to choose from. Then there's the ceramic vases for my back yard to add to the Mediterranean landscaping. Beautiful! Have to mention the excellent and individualized customer service! Luis is Spot On!

I was so happy about the review that I called them ... he said it would be 150 dollars to come to the house for the initial visit. He came (actually twice to see some of our furniture which he thought was cool). And, he cashed the check. Never heard from him again. Seems he is always in LA. Never was able to get the work started with him. I think that even if he did not want to do it he ought to have returned the check and said so. But, for months I tried to call him back to no avail ...
