Great place, helpful staff. They are pricey, but its refreshing going to a genuine lumber yard and talking to employees that know, and care versus the other options now days.

I must have visited 10 or 11 lumber yards looking for a particular type of redwood siding and just when I was about to lose hope, I walked into American Lumber. So incredibly happy to have found this place! The customer service is BEYOND amazing. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff and great pricing too! The cherry on top? Free delivery if you spend a certain amount... Thank you guys for helping me find the perfect redwood siding. I am so happy and will be back to buy my redwood fencing soon :) Support this small family owned biz - you won't find a better building material/lumber store in the Central Valley!

Went in to get a quote on some lumber and hardware. I got great customer service, a fair price and they'll deliver for free. Always liked the place when I lived in Modesto 30 some years ago and they've maintained the quality of service.

Great place to do business. They took the time to explain the different types of grade of wood and got back to us regarding the cost of the posts we were looking for. Milled the posts at no extra charge. We also received followup phone calls when the work was done AND a followup call from the person who took my order to make sure I received the call it was ready to pick up. Excellent experience would use them again in a heartbeat. Thank you!
