I've been a member for years and enjoy being able to reserve a swim lane. However, the last few times I've been to the pool, it's been VERY murky with grime on the walls and accumulated brown grime at the bottom. I understand there are trees above that drop some natural debris, but a simple scrub by a pool cleaner every so often would go a long way.Still giving 4* since I'm confident this will be addressed and otherwise love the facility. I talked to another person who was leaving when I did and saying the same thing.

The MV YMCA has everything you need in an exercise facility! Friendly staff and a clean gym.

This is a great family oriented gym/recreation center. The facility is not fancy or upscale by any means but the equipment is really good. Everything appears to be clean and well cared for. They have a few different areas for cardio, weight training, machine weights, TRX, and functional training. They have an outdoor workout area, basketball court, and volleyball also. The pool/spa outdoor area is large and in the middle of the property and seems like a popular place. They also have a kid zone. My kids are 3 and 5 and they LOVE coming to the kid zone. This is one of the best perks of the YMCA membership. Post COVID most gyms got rid of their "kids clubs" or child care, but not the YMCA. They actually interact with the kids and do crafts with them. My kids do not want to leave when I come to pick them up. The locker rooms are OK, They could use an upgrade but they get the job done. All of the staff that I have dealt with here and super nice. Membership is affordable for all of the perks that you get. Great place to bring the family and get in a work out while the kids play in the kids zone.

Great gym with a good selection of machines. Not crowded which I love. Air conditioned which is great when it's 90 degrees outside. Clean locker rooms. The front desk is helpful and everyone working there is incredibly kind.

This is one of the few facilities that has a racquetball court. I must be one of the last dinosaurs to play the sport because the court is always available on Saturday. Even though I don't use the rest of the gym I can see that the most of the equipment is new and clean. The rooms are always spotless and they have a filtered water machine. The people who work out here are usually the older crowd, older than 30, or it just may be the people who work out before 9am.

Become a member today and start enjoying all of the benefits that the YMCA has to offer. This location has a full gym, sports areas, and a swimming pool. They also have several programs for the community to participate in. I recommend the Adventure Guides program for fathers and their kids. They now offer martial arts classes.

After years of feeling stupid uselessly working out in a fitness club, I came to the YMCA to have a personal trainer teach me which workout machines and weights to use. Did I mention that I’m a 65-year-old overweight female with a bad back? In an affordable 3x personal training program, YMCA trainer Matt said “No.” Instead, he introduced me to core exercises and balancing techniques I never knew I needed. Matt is amazing. He gently took me from stubborn and unfeasible fitness goals to a program that helps me succeed, safely. Thank you, Matt. You know how to “read the room.”?

Out of the YMCA facilities I have visited so far, Mission Viejo Family YMCA ranks as one of the best! During an extended stay in the Irvine area, I was about 20 minutes away from the Mission Viejo Family YMCA, but it was well worth the drive. The whole gym itself is pretty big with plenty of indoor and outdoor workout areas. Some of the outdoor amenities include the pool, mini-soccer field, basketball courts, beach volleyball. In terms of indoor facilities, there were plenty of machine making it possible to do a full set of workouts without having to scramble. They also provide a wide array of classes that range from cycling to bootcamps. They currently have a system for RSVPing for classes online. However, only major classes like the bootcamp seem to be completely full. Please note that the bootcamp classes are times when the parking lot gets pretty full so may have to park outside of the residential area. If there is one downside is that the facility feels a little dated. Not a big issue, but do not expect a boutique gym experience. Just the basics, but everything you will need. As alluded to earlier, there is a parking lot but it can get full depending on the time you go. If you are not able to find a spot, you may need to find parking outside. In terms of service, the team was super friendly and helpful. Coming from a different YMCA, the staff had to look me up from the national database. After awhile, most of them remembered who I was! Overall, I would highly recommend the Mission Viejo Family YMCA because it has plenty of great resources for working out with a friendly staff as well!

I've been going to the Mission Viejo YMCA for about 5 years. No ego, no B's, great staff. They kept open right through Covid and moved most of the machines outside. Those things are heavy!I appreciate the staff and team there and look forward to many more years.
