Prices are alright and they have a decent selection but customer service is the worst i’ve ever experienced. I showed him my cards and he wasn’t handling them properly, offered extremely low prices for cards that were just pulled in perfect condition. He had an attitude and got mad at me for wanting to know individual prices. My friend got a resealed pack. Overall horrible experience stay away unless you want to be treated without respect.

I’m from NY and have visited this shop while visiting a friend who has moved out here. Of the two times I’ve visited I can tell the owners are passionate about gaming. Magic and Monsters has loads of singles, booster boxes, accessories, and collectibles for all the top games ( magic, yugioh, pokemon) the store is kept clean and doesn’t reek of nerd BO I’ve been all too familiar of smelling at other stores over the years. The owners were also robbed and still keep up a friendly positive attitude which I commend them for. Tournament prizing and sign-up prices are standard. Singles prices are also competitive with TCG Player . Good store for a visitor. Can’t speak on if it’s the same experience consistently however.

This is the first time being there, it was quite a journey from Long Beach to Mission Viejo, after arriving to Magic and Monsters they have a selection of yugioh cards that other card shops that I have been to offer. Bought some blue eyes cards, some God slimes, and others that I don't have. The employees have been respectful towards me, and have made more likely to return to buy more yugioh cards from the rarity collection maybe the Abyss Dragon. Such amazing service.

Got a booster box there with my son. The employees were helpful and knowledgeable. It looks like a fun place to work.
Now we have another shared interest, it’s amazing :) thx.

Wife and I have been visiting this store now for almost a year and it’s one of our favorite LGSs in the area! The store and their employees make conscious efforts to listen and understand what the different TCG communities need and always make changes to accommodate whenever possible. We have been playing Lorcana, Star Wars Unlimited, and Magic - and have never had any bad experiences with their leagues or tournaments. Specifically with Lorcana, M&M has really embraced and grown that community in recent months. Huge shoutout to Ian - he’s been the reason our Lorcana peeps love it there and we look forward to seeing him every week!

So happy to call Magic & Monsters my home store. As someone new to the TCG scene (and having had a few negative experiences in the past as a woman in hobby spaces) I was nervous about finding somewhere I would feel welcome. Ian at M&M is such a golden human in my book. He is always looking for ways to run the best leagues, tournaments, and sealed events possible. He has also gone out of his way to help me learn and grow as a TCG player and introduced me to new games I would have been intimidated by in the past. Ian truly cares about the regulars, no matter what game they’re there to play. He and the rest of the staff have truly made the store our home away from home on Saturdays… and Tuesdays… and sometimes Fridays, too. Can’t get enough!

Super appreciate the Lorcana events at M&M. They regularly listen to feedback about league structure, prioritize availability for the local community, and have invested in the community meaningfully. Ian has skillfully managed multiple overlapping events and checked in to make sure we were doing okay when we've had issues. They're a good bunch over there and we appreciate them.

They told me trade is 70% and cash is 60%, but offered only 50% on trade. The staff member wasn't friendly or transparent about pricing. I won't go back.

Great place to play Lorcana. League play on Saturday is great for newer players and the community is very social. The staff have been great listening to our feedback and working with us to tailor events. Constructed is Tuesday nights and again staff is great working with us even on a slower week to make us feel taken care of. Ian just ran a store championship that was fantastic, as is the rest of the staff. I'm also playing Star Wars Unlimited there and they've been working to get Premiere events going regularly on Friday and OP packs for the players. Overall they do a great job of taking care of their regulars. I've seen several staff members check in with folks who might be having a rough day. Not because they needed to but because they care about us in the community.

I would think twice about attempting to sell them cards. I've been there three times now. The first time I sold them some cards, got my check and everything was fine. The second time the guy helping me seemed annoyed that I had a bunch of yugioh commons but still proceeded to look through them. He pulled out out a bunch and offered me a dollar for the whole stack! I accepted the offer because he said that they could use them for their back stock. I then sold the rest on eBay for 56x his offer. This third time today the same guy accused me of bringing the same box of cards that I brought in previously and basically dismissed all the cards that I had and offered me a quarter for one of them. I told him these were different cards and his response was "just keep bringing different cards then"! One of the other employees apologized to me everyone else actually seems very nice there with the exception of the one guy. So watch out for the one with the sourpuss!

This store will cancel orders to resell at higher prices and will not honor sales. No communication. Sad that business values a few dollars over a customer.

Good selection, really poor customer service. Not welcoming at all. I showed up as a newbie looking for a LGS to learn how to play and make regular purchases at. This won't be it as I won't be back.
