We were with Glenn Hetzel for 3 tax seasons but due to multiple displays of unjustified and unacceptable emotional tantrums by Allan Bayer, we decided to find a new CPA.
Additionally, Allan threatened to put false information on our tax return and intentionally increase our tax liability when we questioned the additional $1400+ in surprise firm fees for charges that our new CPA says are unnecessary and excessive.

Hetzel & Associates is one of the best firms in the business. When we first started our business journey, so many things were so unfamiliar and complicated to me. I knew from there that we needed to get a really good accountant.
We have a friend in Mission Viejo who recommended them to us. We were told that they’re excellent at what they do. I know how sometimes it can be so daunting to work on matters that involve taxes but Glenn’s team possesses this amazing ability to break everything down to you in the simplest terms, so that you’re able to understand what is happening at all times. They explained the most complex aspects of tax law to us in a way that we were able to understand it.

DO NOT go here!!!!!!! I am extremely disappointed with this service. I have been with them for a few years and normally they have been great! I would have monthly meetings for my. Jaime's and personal faves and all my tax deadlines were met and taken care of! They really went above and beyond but they just were bought out by RMW accounting and I literally can't even get someone on the phone. I paid for services in full this year as I always do and have received none. So basically they took my money. I have had all my tax deadlines missed that were normally taken care of. I have requested information in regards to my business taxes and not even an email response back. I can't get anyone on the phone and when you do it's a run around. Take your business some where else.

I have looked into Hetzel CPA for my personal and small business tax preps, tax planning, and bookkeeping and I’ve been a satisfied and happy client for the last 4 years. Needless to say that I will continue to use their services. Allan in particular is a great person to work with! Allan Bayer very graciously helped me with an ammended return, even though I used Turbo Tax this year to prepare my returns and not Hetzel & Associates. His help was very much appreciated. In addition, I've been very happy with the services of Hetzel & Associates in the past.

2021 tax filing is my second year using this service. It will also be my final year. Each year I go through this....contact them several times (this year so far, four times by 3/31/22 using email once, calls after that) to get a status update on my tax filings. I signed an agreement in late February for them to compile my taxes and part of the requirement is to submit all paperwork by Mar 15th which I met, in order to guarantee completion by April 18th. I may have submitted one immaterial document the day after. Nonetheless, I never get a call back, not even a courtesy email. They charge 2X the standard rate so I expected them to act more professionally. $975 for the following which is standard. Individual Tax Return - BasicTax PreparationSecure electronic access to client recordsTax preparation electronic filingTax AnalysisI happen to be working with another CPA/JD for a trust filing this year due to death of my father and learned they provided incorrect tax advice for an inherited IRA. They told me that I must process RMD's until zero balance within 10 years from the date I established an Inherited IRA account which I did 7 years after my mom's death (presumably still within the 10yrs timeframe). But that tax attorney (CPA/JD) corrected me to say it's 10 years after death irrespective of whether an Inherited IRA was established so now I'll be penalized. I happened to pay much more for my personal tax filing in 2020 because of my concern about the inherited IRA. I'm feeling like I threw away good money. Next year, I'll be moving my services to the tax attorney completing my trust filings.
