We spent our morning driving the Lassen park road from north to south - had stopped in at the Loomis Museum the afternoon before to plan the trip and which direction we wanted to go. We decided to end at the south end so we could get our son's Junior Ranger badge after the drive and grab lunch at the "cafe". First, the gift shop is fantastic - I was worried based on the selection near the Loomis that there wouldn't be much, but we were pleasantly surprised. Much better selection that at the other two national parks in the region we'd already been to. But lunch? I wouldn't call this a cafe in the least, unless you are just looking for coffee. At lunch time, we walked over and were looking for a menu, but then realized the choices are prepackaged microwave sandwiches and prepackaged deli sandwiches (turkey and cheese or ham and cheese). Bagged chips and several packaged sweets (rolls, cookies, etc). That's it. We had hoped for something hot and more "stick to your ribs" after 5 hours of hiking and sightseeing. We bought 3 sandwiches and 1 bag of chips plus 2 bottled drinks and spent $40! It was better than nothing, but if we knew that's what choices we'd have had, we'd have packed an equivalent picnic for $10. 5 stars for Lassen Gift, 1 star for Lassen Cafe.

Wasted half an hour. Ordered a hotdog but they kept telling me to wait a few minutes. If you don't have the food ready, just don't sell it! Plus, the sandwich has hairs inside?!

Meh. Was glad to find food in our unexpected drive and detour through Lassen and happy to see meat-less options on the menu. Ordered the (veggie) breakfast burrito that ended up being packed with bacon and egg shells. Very off-putting. We were further away from the cafe when we discovered this and decided not to drive back at that point.

First things first, the views from the patio outside this cafe is flat out one of the most beautiful things I've seen!! I *strongly* recommend taking some time here to have a bite upon entering the park to soak in the views + sunshine. In terms of food, we had brought mostly everything from home but made sure to try the soft-serve ice cream which was so good. Service was also wonderful which was much appreciated after the long drive.

GRAND OPENING for Lassen Manzanita not this one, for some reason I created a new yelp for them, but Yelp erased it and put my review for this location!!! I found Lassen Manzanita by accident. My wife and I was actually exploring to find an entrance or clear view to see the Manzanita Lake. But instead I was hungry and needed some food. The open sign was on. So I walked in full of joy that it was open and discovered they had plant based/vegetarian food too! Not only that but this place had my wife's souvenir, a hiking medallion. There was plenty of things to shop for, I got a t-shirt. They also have plenty of snacks, which we also got. For our food; my wife got the breakfast burrito (even during dinner time), and I got the veggie wrap! Wow they were both very delicious and freshly made!!! Hands down I would get the veggie wrap again, and the potato salad was tasty too! I felt so honored that we were one the firsts for the grand opening. I also was the second person to pay using Apple Pay lol. Lastly, they also have showers, laundry-mat, and clean bathrooms. Come and support this newly/renovated location!

Located West of the National Park in the town of Mineral. They have a full bar. Sit inside or outside. Simple but tasty food. Plenty of parking (room for RVs)

The location of this cafe is conveniently inside the national park. However, the sandwich(es) are salty.

You can eat inside or outside. The Lodge restaurant and cafe are the same place. Menu is not that big. But the food was tasty. If you can't climb stairs, then enter the walkway from the side of the store.

Small gift shop at the entrance to the park. Lots of little souvenirs and trinkets to buy for your trip. Staff is always welcoming.
