I recently visited Safeway a few days ago. The late-night visit worked well for me as there was ample parking available. One aspect I appreciate is the convenience of adding coupons through the app. However, the process is a bit inconvenient and time consuming. Despite this, I was able to find most of the items on my list, with the exception of plain Dole pineapple juice in the refrigerator section. I had to settle for a substitute, opting for orange juice instead. The cashier experience was positive, with no line and a polite cashier, which is always a plus. On the downside, the discount system could use improvement. The regular prices ring up initially, and the discounts are applied at the end, making it a bit confusing to track the actual cost of items during the checkout process. Overall, my visit to Safeway was decent, with a few minor inconveniences. If they could streamline the discount process and ensure better stock availability, it would enhance the overall shopping experience.

I ordered a birthday cake one week in advanced. They forgot to write happy birthday as stated on the receipt. Also the icing is dripping onto the cake. I asked to have the happy birthday added and unfortunately it could not be done due to the baker not being present. Also the tag states chocolate cake when I ordered white. Can't wait to see what flavor it really is. Update * I was refunded and the manager was easy to communicate with. Also the flavor was correct but the cake consistency was falling apart and crumbling easily

The customer service at this location is very very terrible and I will never come back again forsure. We just wanted to buy some flowers for next day morning graduation and the woman cashier at flower section gave us so much attitudes. We try to be nice but she is so mean to us. I would give this 0 star if there is. Not recommend at all.

There pharmacy is terrible my refill day happened to be on thanksgiving but they didn't allow early pick up they told me I would have to wait until Friday my doctor was even surprised they said that I would think twice about this pharmacy shows how much they care

Well stocked for a busy store. I went after dinner at El Torito! I was there for a cake. I thought they closed at 9, but they said the bakery closed at 7. It would be nice to list the hours for departments up front if they all have different hours, just a thought. Anyway, my family and I were disappointed about the cake, but I wanted spirits/wine and settled for a bottle I didn't want but when in the express line, someone requested the bottle I wanted. I saw my opportunity to say hey I'll take a small one. I don't think the cashier Jerome appreciated me interrupting his time with the customer in front of me, maybe he thought I was being rude, I was just trying to save time as I was next in line. Anyway, I count as I shop and I knew the total wasn't totalling, and I asked him to take off the rum, and he reluctantly did, and I noticed something wasn't right but I still paid. Once I got my receipt, Jerome, who never said hello, smiled and did his customer service to the person behind me, and then I noticed, the bottle I put back, which was dubnation affiliated, a new Filipino rum, only $15, he has another employee check the bottle. I was a store assistant manager who made bonuses at this company in real life, I felt he was alluding to me stealing the bottle and replacing it with another which is crazy. The customer service rep tried to play it off but I believe that's what he was alluding to and yes there was a pricing issue that employee fixed for me but it was just the principle!!! I get treated like trash because of Jerome's prejudices or stereotyping of me as a young enough black woman, wow! The kicker is Jerome is black too. Please bring back the secret shopper program, your company only stood out for service, now that service is optional, customer service has left the building!! I will never get in Jerome's line ever again, if I come back. Can you please explain to them how salary works for the week... Yes it's the holidays, but explain that when I can buy this same exact thing elsewhere, for cheaper, it makes no sense for me support these higher prices your store has with poor customer service. Apparently Jerome doesn't know that. Please explain that every grocery dollar pays his salary for the week!! Please explain that to all departments that their hours depend on sales in real life! There is too much competition. I should've been in bevmo but we were there for cake. If anyone boycotted for service, your company would be sol!! I would rather shop at Walmart and Amazon, but I support unions and higher paid wages. It's important in my perspective to do so, but customer service like Jerome's is a turn off. Like I said, I worked at this company and I worked at a really bad store, I understand profiling exists, but he got the wrong right one!!

My wife and I went grocery shopping at this Safeway on Sunday and there was a gentleman named "Elijah" who went above and beyond to help make it an awesome experience. He first helped us find an unlocked grocery cart which he was gathering outside. He then helped bag our groceries and if that wasn't enough he assisted my wife and I with loading the car (I am currently in a leg cast and scooter). His kindness and generosity, were both appreciated and admired. We need more people like this in the world kudos to him and this locations for a job well done

I stopped in for a drink and a snack and the minimal customer service I expected was an epoch fail. The people at the deli were lazy and rude. I gave two stares because at least the register operator seem to care and ask if she could answer my question. She explained some of my concerns but not all. I'm shopping at Lucky's from now on.

Got some food at the deli and was pleasantly surprised by quality of some of the options and soups. Service is fine for a deli and wouldn't mind grabbing something here in a pinch.

Would rate this store ZERO if. I could. The worst customer service. Morale among the employees at this store is so low that they literally yell at customers. They completely ignore when customers ask for help and if they ever respond to you, they'll give you the nastiest attitude.

Good location, customer service, and product selection but the parking lot is a huge mess. There are shopping carts left everywhere. This is my local grocer and I visit a couple times a week, this is very common. A few months back my car was damage from a shopping cart. I really wish management would do something about this. I will consider going elsewhere if this continues because I don't want my car damaged again. These pics are just from the same visit at only one part of the lot.

I have been shopping at this store for quite some time and I am usually not one to complain but the meat department manager has time and time again shown what an ill-mannered and unprofessional attitude he has. I asked him a question about the meat on sale for that week and he unwillingly answered with attitude and made me feel ignorant for simply asking. I have witnessed him be unpleasant to customers on many occasions. He seems a bit racist to me as he's always being very snippy to older Asian customers. Every time I see him he is always in a bad mood with customers and with his workers. I don't know why this store continues to let him talk to people the way he does.

Milpitas safeway has the shittiest bakery! I have had a bad experience 3 times back to back. The people are rude and unprofessional, unpleasant, they need to be retrained for customer service. This one lady wrote so bad on the cake I wanted to slam it on her face. Would she want a cake for her daughter??? Such loser they hire and they seriously need to get a life and be retrained!!!!
