Don't deal with this bank especially with the Calaveras branch. They don't honor their promotions like getting cash back when you have a deposit for a period of time. They will have amnesia when the time comes for you to receive the cash back. Beware also of Checking Service Fees.

I have been to this location about three times now. The times that I've gone in, Alexis greets with a smile. Seems like she might be the branch manager. she's super sweet, professional and based off of overhearing her speak, she comes off very knowledgeable of what she is doing. An input I can mention is that she should help train the teller, especially the one named Isis. with my luck, I always get Isis to help me with my transactions. I believe that she needs more training in the customer service field as she can come off a bit rude, then when the transaction is done she gets nice. Another thing is that she takes a very very long time to process one transaction. I have never seen a slower teller then her. When I came into the branch, the first and second time, I didn't say anything because I thought she was new, but it just seems like this is how she works. She doesn't seem very passionate about her job or very welcoming when someone comes in.

Bank of the West on East Calaveras in Milpitas has got me to thinking about finding a new bank. My wife and I went to Bank of the West yesterday to create a new account for our Living Trust and the person who waited on us didn't seem to know what she was doing. We already had a checking account with Bank of the West but setting up the new account took essentially forever. It should have taken no more than 30 minutes but she kept us there for exactly one hour and 45 minutes doing what? I have NO idea. She worked on the computer, made copies of stuff, worked on the computer, called somebody on the phone, worked on the computer, called somebody on the phone again, then after about an hour, she said one of our documents needed to be rewritten and told us to go out to our car and do it there. What ? ? ? So we did that and went back to see her and she fiddled around for another 45 minutes doing more stuff while I almost fell asleep. We also wanted to deposit a small check but at the very end of all the processing of the paperwork, she said we would have to come back to deposit the check as they couldn't process it at that time. Exactly at 5:00 PM, when they closed, the woman packed up and went home. Never said anything like "Thank you for using Bank of the West" or anything liked that. The service left a lot to be desired to say the least. We need to find a bank with better service than what Bank of the West offers as their service, well, basically sucked.

I tried to close a CD before the maturity date and got assessed a penalty that brought the CD balance significantly below the initial CD balance. While I understand an early withdrawal fee is typical industry practice, Bank of the West came back with an exorbitantly high fee that their representatives cannot explain. Based on simple Googling, other banks clearly disclose their early withdrawal fees to be a percentage of accrued interest (say 6 months of interest, etc). However, Bank of the West's fee that was charged would be over 2000% the annual interest. Furthermore, I talked with multiple individuals, and no one could provide me with a clear answer to how the fee was calculated nor point me to where the calculation method has been disclosed. Their lack of disclosure and service is very disappointing and I dot not recommend banking with them.

I normally don't write reviews but I can't bare with the service I had to deal with yesterday . Me and my husband only wanted to open up a saving account simple as that . The Indian banker don't seem like want to help us maybe he don't get the Commission. So he keep pushing us to getting savings and checking we refuse he turned us away saying we can open the saving account online without coming into the branch. After asking us 100 question why we need to saving for even asked for income amount to my understanding this is not OK and not normal you don't ask for income right away without giving two identification up on applying . I am not applying for a cc I just wanted to open up a simple saving account. . After that I ask him so you can do it here he say no no no so unprofessional so disgusting . we give our business somewhere else they open for us no question ask within 20 minutes out of the chase bank. I feel so bad who Ever opened up account with the Indian older banker please don't screw people over your hidden interest with all this penalties please be professional be honest . .. Managers please train your staff's to be professional and respectful to all customers. -1 rating sorry .

If I was able to give this location 0 stars, I would. The branch manager has no sense of responsibility nor any reason why she is in her position. I understand that in times like this, you need to limit customers inside the bank. However, they need a way to control traffic and prioritize customers that arrive before others. It's unfair for people that have waited for their turn, only to be cut by people that have just arrived. The branch manager noticed this and did nothing about it.Also -- when we tried opening up a bank account, they managed to get the names on the account WRONG. At any bank, the banks make a photocopy of your ID and other additional information that proves your identity. It's very clear that this bank DOES NOT do their due diligence in handling customer information properly and if that is the case, I don't understand how anyone can trust this specific bank to handle their finances/money.We were also under the pretense that we were opening up an account under a specific promotion which entails: by depositing a specific amount, you'll be given a bonus after a certain time. Unfortunately, this promotion ends today and they somehow messed up our information while opening up an account. So it'll take another day to process, which means we'll miss the promotion as well. What a coincidence! Take it from me, folks. I rarely write reviews for places but the experience I had here was enough for me to hop online with my real identity to expose what kind of a s*** show this place represents. I'll personally reach out to corporate about my experience and have something done about this.

Christina Chai is really short and disrespectful. Acts like she is bothered to be doing her job and can't even say please or thank you. She doesn't sound much better with her co workers either. Someone was helping her over the phone and she was short and rude. She just worsens the already poor reputation botw has.
