“These guys are one-of-a-kind, and unbelievably good. We have a Victorian home, and if you’ve ever tried to shop for Aesthetic Movement/Eastlake furniture, you know just how impossible it is. Enter Laurel Crown. We placed our first order with them to outfit our parlor using stock items from their website. A sofa, occasional tables, 4 upholstered chairs, plant stands etc. We were very pleased with all of it.

But while using it, we began to think about how we could better use some of their other items if we could customize some dimensions. So we contacted Lauren Crown about this, and they were very accommodating. Intrigued, we wondered just how far we could take this customization business.

For our next project we had our study and dinning rooms to furnish. For these rooms we wanted a little less Victorian, and a bit more Aesthetic Movement/Eastlake. When we asked, they told us to send some photo ideas. Well, of course we went right to photos of original Aesthetic Movement pieces, and sent them along. The photographed pieces we sent were exquisite and intricate. Their reply: No problem! Which naturally seemed too good to be true…

We went over dimensions and sizes desired, and a week or 3 later they produced detailed drawings for our approval. One of the pieces for the dinning room was a custom console with an under-mount sink. They told us to purchase the sink we desired, and mail them the sink cutout template, which we did.

The only thing a bit disappointing about Laurel Crown is their upholstery selection, which is pretty limited. But this was easily over come, as it turned out. They told us how much fabric would be required for the various pieces, and we were able to purchase great replica Victorian fabrics from Spoonflower. Spoonflower sent our fabric directly to Laurel Crown.

Finally we had the order all together, and we paid a 40% deposit. The fabric, sink template, and all the dimensions and photos then went off from California to Indonesia, where the actual furniture is crafted. I think they said it would be about a year.

It ended up being closer to 18 months. Covid probably had a little something to do with that. But yesterday the delivery finally arrived. It was all white-glove with 4 movers. It took a few hours to get everything in, but it was all done courteously and professionally.

The best part: The furniture is stunning! Every piece. Exactly as we wished for. And our chosen fabrics ended up being perfect for their desired rooms, something we’d been worried about…

The astonishing part: They never asked for the final payment! The furniture was delivered, the movers left, and we had to ask them for the final invoice. Who does that any more? That’s what we mean about Laurel Crown being very special. And speaking of money, the prices we paid were completely within the average of high-end furniture, -not for high end completely customized furniture. Amazing. We could not recommend a company more highly than Laurel Crown.”

“Found my furniture, put in an order for delivery and set-up scheduled for later the same week, all in about 10/15 mins. Although I didn't get his name the man who helped us was great. We had a strict budget which was mostly spent on a bedframe/mattress and needed a couch as well. They so kindly brought down the price in order for us to complete our purchase and we were able to get everything we needed in less than 20 minutes. The delivery came a few hours later than was originally discussed but it was a holiday so I don't hold it against them. The delivery was easy as the team did all the moving and put together/set up the furniture which was all free. I'll definitely be coming back in future. There's a good amount of stuff in store but they have a lot more inventory you can view and shop from within their catalogues they have at the warehouse.”

“I visited twice and found the two salespeople here were very helpful and took their time to help us find something that met our needs but were not pushy into getting us to buy something.

We have a fairly small living room that's limited by a very small interior door (29" wide). This has made finding anything a complete pain. We already returned a Crate & Barrel couch that upon delivery couldn't fit through this smaller interior door. We were very picky because of this but they assured us if they didn't have it in stock they could get a custom order.

Lucky for us, they had a very similar couch on the show floor to the CB Barrett II we originally wanted that had even more in-seat storage and that could also pull out sleeper with better overall dimensions for our living room.

Best of all, they arranged for same day delivery at the same cost the big brand gave us for a 2+ week wait. We haven't had a couch for over a month so this was a great overall shopping experience! Definitely worth checking out!”

I loved knowing who was making my wallbed and having it be in the same city as me.In 2018 I purchased a lateral queen wallbed with accompanying cabinetry from them. Since then I unexpectedly had to move twice and it is still super solid. I don't think cheaper options from another company would have been the same story.Astrid and Abraham are always amazing to work with. During the last move I had a small snag with the size of our corridor and called them in a bit of a panic. Within five minutes they were able to walk us through disassembling the front piece to be small enough to fit.Highly recommend!”

“When my husband and I were in graduate school, we would always try out the Sharper Image massage chairs (yes, we are old) and promise ourselves we would buy one when we could afford it. It took some time, but in 2010 while we were living in Asia, we finally bought an chair from a well-known maker in Singapore (Osim). We enjoyed that chair so much that we purchased another in 2015. We got a lot of good use from that 2010 chair, but the cover started flaking and leg massage stopped working (!) The chair is no longer supported, so we decided, "Time for a new chair!"
We started at Osim, but quickly realized we didn't like the new models. The interface is clunky and the new designs are less sleek. So, we branched out to MCM and are so thankful we did! We visited two locations, San Mateo and Walnut Creek. Super knowledgeable salespeople at both locations (thank you Gio and Alan!). Not pushy, and they tell you their honest opinions on the various chairs. We ended up working with Matt to purchase a Panasonic MAN1. It's an exceptional product, delivery was smooth, really everything was flawless. Panasonic knows what they're doing. After his first massage in the Panasonic chair, my 20 year old son said "How can I ever go back?"
And best of all, when my father-in-law came for a visit, it got his stamp of approval! Happy in-laws = priceless. The in-laws are now looking into buying one for themselves!”

“I had the best experience here. I was shopping for a formal dining room table for my new house. I had previously purchased a large solid marble table years ago from Giorgi which I truly loved, but it was too big for my new place. I had shopped at other furniture stores but had no luck finding the right table. Then I was reminded that I bought my marble table at Giorgi. I went online and saw immediately a few tables that were what I had in mind. I called the store (5 mins before closing) and Angie Velarde answered the phone. In spite of how late it was, she looked up the prices of the tables and invited me to come in the next day to look at them and other selections. Angie was incredible. She patiently listened to my story of where I was moving and what I was looking for. I showed her the chairs I was keeping (also purchased at Giorgi) and she went over other tables that might go with that formal style. She was simply fantastic. By the end, it seemed like I made a new friend. She is the epitome of what excellent customer service is. The table was on the pricey side, but the fun I had it certainly made it worth it. “We love this little office furniture reseller in San Mateo. They have a lot of standard office equipment, from chairs, sofas, desks, standing desks, and cabinets.
On this visit, we saw a set of three Fritz Hansen series 7 chairs for an unbelievably great price. We snapped them up and are so happy with them. Though used, these chairs, along with all the other pieces they sell, are in good to very good condition.

“This is currently the only store I know that has relatively firm sofa, love seat and chair vis-a-vis Ashley, Bassett, Living Space, and Scandinavian Design. We found a lone sofa to our liking so we asked if it has a matching arm chair and sure enough, it has one not in the showroom. We are happy.”
